Later, their receptionist called me, I gave them my insurance information, and they confirmed my insurance was covered--so I decided to give it another try. Dr. Elyassi accepts most insurance plans. While I'm not sure about the cash prices, which may be higher than what's billed to insurance, everything seemed fair. One standout staff member is Hermineh, an exceptional dental assistant who made my entire experience more comfortable. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel welcomed and cared for. During the procedure, she checked on me at least six times to make sure I was doing okay--something I've never had happen at any other dentist. She was gentle, professional, and clearly very experienced. You can tell she genuinely cares about patients and takes pride in her work. If you visit, you might want to ask for Hermineh--she's the kind of person who makes a stressful situation feel manageable. Honestly, she's one of the best dental assistants I've ever met. Dr. Elyassi also listens to his patients and goes the extra mile to resolve any issues. He's even addressing some challenges with the building itself to improve the overall experience. And one thing I really liked: all the treatment rooms have windows. It might sound like a small thing, but most dental offices in California are enclosed spaces without natural light. I have been to dentists across three states, but only with Dr. Elyassi was I treated as more than just a patient. The receptionist started off my new patient encounter not by handing me a stack of papers to begin signing, but rather with a soft smile and asking me how my day was and what I did for a living. X-rays were completed promptly and he explained all pertinent positive and negative findings in a simple way. What truly separates the care I received at this facility vs all the other establishments I have visited, was the constant dialogue and reassurances throughout the process. I have overly sensitive teeth (explained to him during the introductions) and Dr. Elyassi stopped to ask me nearly every 60 seconds if I was experiencing any tenderness or discomfort. I'll begin by saying Dr. Elyassi and his staff literally changed my life. The last time I fully smiled in a picture was 16 years ago. Growing up I was always insecure about my smile until I came to Atrium Dental. For me going to the dentist has never been a pleasant experience. From long wait times, filthy offices, unpleasant staff, careless and unprofessional dentists and worst of all for me, not being able to find a dentist who would take on the project of creating a beautiful smile for me. Without any exaggeration I have seen over 15 dentists both in the US and overseas and no one would take on my case under my terms for cosmetic dentistry. My case was complicated as I was missing a tooth on my top left and my overbite is bigger than "normal". All of the dentists I've seen advised that there's no way to make the crowns or veneers work without getting braces first and possibly doing orthognathic surgery. Although I couldn't stand my smile, cutting my jaw was not an option for me. I met Dr. Elyassi in June of 2020. My first appointment was for a deep cleaning, X-rays and of course another consultation for cosmetic dentistry (most would think I'd give up by now and thank god I didn't). Atrium Dental is nothing but a positive experience from the minute you walk into the office until the minute you leave. The office is squeaky clean, the equipment they work with is new technology and the staff is phenomenal. Tanya works the front desk and who I made my first encounter with. Her professionalism, friendliness and ability to multitask definitely made an impression on me. My wait time was nearly inexistent, by the time I completed the new patient paperwork the assistant was ready to take me to the room. My deep cleaning was the best I've ever had! I felt no discomfort and I could see and feel a difference. Finally onto Dr. Elyassi. He takes the extra step to satisfy his patients. When I expressed to him my desire for cosmetic dentistry without the extra procedures he didn't reject the idea like everybody else. Dr. Elyassi took the extra step to find a solution. He asked for his lab tech to join us on the consultation and they discussed options in making my desired smile come true. I couldn't be happier with the result. Street parking, (Tip: Wednesdays & Thursdays are cleaning days before 12pm, so if you have an appointment after 12pm, you'll find parking directly infront of the building) - if not, neighboring streets Louise/Cameron Place is your best bet. The office is extremely clean and well kept, you're immediately greeted by Tanya, who is an absolute sweetheart! Meghedi, dental hygienist, is an expert at what she does, and will make you feel extremely comfortable. I immediately felt like I had befriended both of them and had known them for years. Dr. Elyassi is by far the best dentist in the local area. He is patient, answers every and any question you may have, and is extremely efficient at his craft. I had back to back filling appointments for the last 3 weeks, and I left the office in a matter of 20-30 minutes every time with a smile on my face. I especially appreciate a dentist that loves what he does, truly cares for his patients teeth health, and will explore any/every alternative(s) possible before making any decisions you may or may not be comfortable with. Like many, I experience a lot of anxiety over dental visits - enduring years of wearing braces, experiencing a lot of shame from how prior dentists' have treated me, and feeling like I'm being upsold on procedures or treatments that I didn't *need* will do that. After several visits to various dentists over the last decade, I had an idea of what I wanted and didn't want for us. The main things I wanted in our dentist included: providing kind and professional bedside manner, taking care to prioritize a pain-free (as much as possible) experience for the patient, and not treating us like a walking wallet. The very first "recommendation" that my past two dentists pushed on me was teeth whitening, all even before they delved into my dental health, sigh. Both my husband and I were long overdue for our dental care and after extensive research, we scheduled a visit with Dr. Elyassi. Well, we absolutely lucked out with Dr. Elyassi and his team. Carlet, Tanya, and Maryann (apologies if I misspelled anyone's name!) all took the time to ensure our comfort which meant a lot especially for me as I was a sweating nerveball. Dr. Elyassi was personable, kind, and genuine with his diagnosis with my husband. And I couldn't believe my ears when he told me my teeth were in great condition, especially because I was convinced I'd need extensive work based on what prior dentists made it out to be. Each and every person on the team made us feel welcomed and comfortable. I especially loved chatting with Tanya as I waited for my husband - so personable and sweet! I'm so happy and relieved we found "our" dentist who we'll absolutely be going to on a regular basis.
