While it seems to be normal for caregiver turnover (especially during the Covid years), the vast majority of those caregivers were gentle, loving and genuinely loved what they do. We all made many friends of the staff, even the kitchen staff and med techs. The facility is well maintained, clean, attractive and orderly at all times. The setting up on a hill in the Sierra Foothills in north Auburn is wonderful and quite convenient and easily reached just off I80 and State Highway 49 in the California Gold Country. The rooms are either private or semi-private, so residents can feel independent Many of the administration staff were also very kind. The housekeeping director and staff were very responsive and nice. Even the maintenance staff were so helpful and compassionate. The activities director labors tirelessly to provide many enrichment activities for the residents. The receptionists are also very nice. Even the business manager is very compassionate and she attended mom's Celebration of Life. We were very appreciative of that. While expensive as it is everywhere, our mom's experience was quite good. Many staff expressed their love for our mom to us after she passed away. We were very touched by them all. Our family recommends Oakwood Village for senior care.

The Villas at Stanford Ranch is the best assisted living facility in Rocklin. As a private,…read morecaregiving contractor I have operated in countless facilities in the greater Sacramento area. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but The Villas stands above them all thanks to Grayson Tynes, Executive Director, and Nikki Zukic, the Director of Memory Care. Both have set the gold standard for providing personal care to their residents and for creating an active and supportive community. My role as a private caregiver--hired by the families of residents--means I have an objective and unbiased assessment of every facility I work in. I am an advocate and mandated reporter first and foremost, so I have a duty to observe everything. This means watching how the staff interacts with residents, how the facility itself is maintained, etc. My experience at The Villas over the past six years, during which I have had clients there, has been very positive. Each of the aforementioned directors has taken the time to listen to my feedback and observations, which, in turn, has allowed us to exchange ideas and suggestions. Their professionalism, integrity, and genuine commitment to their residents are unmatched. Staffing is and will always be an issue at every facility; I have seen the worst to the very best at all of them. It is an unavoidable element due to the nature of the industry. So I will not pretend that any one place is perfect. However, The Villas has seemingly been the most proactive in both hiring and letting staff go (to put it nicely). This approach has ensured a consistent, effective level of care for residents. Every day I see the staff, from caregivers to servers and even those in maintenance, go above and beyond to help and provide hospitality to the residents. They've cultivated a safe, welcoming environment for everyone to thrive and maintain their autonomy. The directors also make themselves available, being on the floor and present, which is uncommon in many facilities. It is a challenging task finding a new place to call home, whether for yourself or a loved one, but I would highly recommend visiting the Villas. I believe they offer all the amenities necessary to have a quality of life that each of us deserves.

But the love, support a genuine care for my father and our family was more than I could have hoped for. Grayson Tynes the Executive Director and Nikki Zurkic Director of Memory Care, set a very high standard and communication with me and my family was always outstanding. There are several staff members that always stood out to me for the care my father provided. Jocelyn, Michelle, Jamie, AD and private care staff members Scott. They always had his best interests at heart, and I truly appreciate every one of them. My Father was very happy there and loved all his new friends. I am certain that every one of them played a role in his success there. Even though he suffered with Dementia, he knew and appreciated them and all they did for him, that was very clear to me. Overall, my experience with The Villas was outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a comfortable, safe place for their loved one. From the bottom of my heart thank you to all of the staff that took care of my father those 5 years. I believe these were some of the best years he ever had. Because of the love and understanding of all the staff at The Villas.

Anything outside of radius is $50/hr. This was not disclosed during my tour. The dining room is lovely with white tablecloths and flowers on each table. Food is nice and a credit to the chef. However, table service is erratic and inattentive which can be frustrating for people with disabilities who need to be checked on periodically by wait staff to make sure they have everything they need. Some wait staff seem professionally trained, others need more training and supervision. My food orders are too often wrong and food that should be hot often arrives luke warm or cold. This could be kitchen staff problem as well. To summarize, Ivy is a good idea that needs lots of improvement.

Tonight's "fine dining" meal was... chicken fried steak, jarred gravy served over par cooked sweet potatoes. When you google Ansel Park Culinary a lovely produced video appears showing lovely dishes being brought out to residents. In the nearly 6 years my parent has lived at this location there have been at least 5 "chefs". The food is definitely not designed for older people. Definitely not enough protein! Search the Ansel Park Independent Living Culinary video on YouTube. It is a complete fabrication! There are no snacks available.. no yogurt parfaits.. etc. The Bistro has nothing available to residents. There are sodas available in the bistro for a cost.. nothing outside of the continental breakfast and 1 other meal per day are part of the monthly "rent". The corporate offices are located in Texas. The facilities in Rocklin are the only locations outside Texas and the fly over states in the middle of the country. The corporate people couldn't care less about the residents in California and it is clear! I have called on behalf of my parent several times! My family wanted out parent in another facility but they wanted to move to this location. At that time Melinda was the director. Firing her was a huge mistake! Since Melinda was fired there have been at least 3 "directors". Definitely look elsewhere and if you can eat several meals at the Ansel Park Independent Living facility before committing! Basic diner food... definitely not "fine dining"! https://www.anselparkindependentliving.com/resident-life/culinary/
