The Villas at Stanford Ranch is the best assisted living facility in Rocklin. As a private,…read morecaregiving contractor I have operated in countless facilities in the greater Sacramento area. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but The Villas stands above them all thanks to Grayson Tynes, Executive Director, and Nikki Zukic, the Director of Memory Care. Both have set the gold standard for providing personal care to their residents and for creating an active and supportive community. My role as a private caregiver--hired by the families of residents--means I have an objective and unbiased assessment of every facility I work in. I am an advocate and mandated reporter first and foremost, so I have a duty to observe everything. This means watching how the staff interacts with residents, how the facility itself is maintained, etc. My experience at The Villas over the past six years, during which I have had clients there, has been very positive. Each of the aforementioned directors has taken the time to listen to my feedback and observations, which, in turn, has allowed us to exchange ideas and suggestions. Their professionalism, integrity, and genuine commitment to their residents are unmatched. Staffing is and will always be an issue at every facility; I have seen the worst to the very best at all of them. It is an unavoidable element due to the nature of the industry. So I will not pretend that any one place is perfect. However, The Villas has seemingly been the most proactive in both hiring and letting staff go (to put it nicely). This approach has ensured a consistent, effective level of care for residents. Every day I see the staff, from caregivers to servers and even those in maintenance, go above and beyond to help and provide hospitality to the residents. They've cultivated a safe, welcoming environment for everyone to thrive and maintain their autonomy. The directors also make themselves available, being on the floor and present, which is uncommon in many facilities. It is a challenging task finding a new place to call home, whether for yourself or a loved one, but I would highly recommend visiting the Villas. I believe they offer all the amenities necessary to have a quality of life that each of us deserves.

But the love, support a genuine care for my father and our family was more than I could have hoped for. Grayson Tynes the Executive Director and Nikki Zurkic Director of Memory Care, set a very high standard and communication with me and my family was always outstanding. There are several staff members that always stood out to me for the care my father provided. Jocelyn, Michelle, Jamie, AD and private care staff members Scott. They always had his best interests at heart, and I truly appreciate every one of them. My Father was very happy there and loved all his new friends. I am certain that every one of them played a role in his success there. Even though he suffered with Dementia, he knew and appreciated them and all they did for him, that was very clear to me. Overall, my experience with The Villas was outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a comfortable, safe place for their loved one. From the bottom of my heart thank you to all of the staff that took care of my father those 5 years. I believe these were some of the best years he ever had. Because of the love and understanding of all the staff at The Villas.

When the…read morehospital planned to discharge him, we realized he wasn't ready to go home alone and would need assistance to regain his strength. We toured Carlton Senior Living and were impressed with the facility. However, after less than three weeks, we discovered it wasn't suitable for him and moved him out. While the staff were friendly, the place was clean, the food was good, and the grounds were pleasant, it was not a fit for someone like my father that needed more assistance. Knowing what I do now, the place is ideal for those who want to avoid housework, engage in activities, and not cook. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for someone needing assistance with basic tasks like using the bathroom or showering. My dad required more help, which led to significant additional costs--almost doubling the original quote. The staff didn't respond quickly enough when he needed assistance. On one occasion, he needed assistance and couldn't wait any longer for help. He tried to get up by himself and fell, hitting his head and requiring paramedics. I also requested multiple times that his night lamp be connected to the Alexa outlet for voice control, but that never happened. He was frustrated with the lack of assistance, in a timely manner, so we looked for alternatives. After moving him out, I was shocked to receive a bill for over $10,000 more than expected. This added to the emotional stress I was already experiencing. After pointing this out, the bill was corrected but I should not have had to do their accountants job. We eventually moved my father to a board-and-care residential facility, which is providing the care he truly needs, and I wish we had made that choice from the beginning.

I even ran into a couple of staff from there and when they found out my grandmother lived there, they asked me so many questions to provide the best care for her. We love Carlton!! Thank you guys for really putting the residents first!

The intake personnel all seem tired, curt, beaten down by constant stress. No one smiles, none want to talk beyond the required information gathering. Triage into the medical side was somewhat better. The nursing assistants, Emergency department techs were more engaged. I did not see a Registered Nurse. Everyone was efficient, getting the job done with minimal fuss. The doctor saw me after a 15 minute wait. For an emergency department that is record fast time. He was cheerful, competent, helpful and was willing to have a converstion rather than dictate orders. We cooperatively agreed on a care plan. (It helped that I have a Master's degree in Public Health). My total time for the visit was 90 minutes. Got the medications I needed. 36 hours later I am starting to recover, though I still feel kind'a crappy (Pun intended).

They bully you, raise their voice at you, belittle you, tell you it's all in your head, tell you that you need mental health and then they say your time is up and they leave! One of these mental midgets they call "Dr." told me my severe hair shedding is all "Cosmetics"!!! He said "Go buy yourself Minoxidil, I'm not giving you referral to Dermatologist"!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing!! I was so repulsed since he was the 2nd Dr. I went to see at Roseville Kaiser. They are literally useless pill pushers and have no frigging clue what they're doing. They go to school and memorize the content without comprehending any of it. Pass exams and suddenly "boom" these morons are "physicians"! You can tell all they care about is status and money, they don't give a shi* about you as a patient... it's all about them and how they impress the other management staff or their Chief. Because that's how they get promotions and their annual bonus. Your satisfaction as a patient means absolutely nothing to these thugs. I'm not going to post the names of these physicians on here, but if you're interested and want to avoid them, feel free to message me and I'll be happy to share their names. I'm going to do myself a favor and hop on over to Sutter Health instead. Kaiser has gone to sh** and I won't be wasting my money, nor my time here. If you're trying to decide between Sutter and Kaiser, definitely go with Sutter, don't waste your time at Kaiser.
