Brian repaired the drywall gap after new sliding windows were installed, since I didn't like moulding. It's very tricky since there is no frame in the gap for drywall to attach to. Brian found a creative and economical way and guaranteed that will not crack. He also spent a few days to mud and sanded the wall till the surface is perfectly smooth. His did an excellent job and the cost was very competitive so I will definitely get his help next time.

I reached out to Jim through Yelp about rebuilding the water heater platform in my garage. He wrote…read moreback fast, and the honest answer was that it wasn't his to take -- a plumber has to pull the water heater first and set it back afterward, and he wasn't going to pretend otherwise just to get a job on the calendar. That could have been the end of it. Instead he stayed on with me. I'm a first-time homebuyer and I don't know much of anything about how houses actually work. I asked him a hundred questions that had nothing to do with drywall, and he answered every one of them -- patiently, in plain language, knowing full well I wasn't going to be a paying customer. He pointed out a few things I hadn't thought to look at. Not once did he make me feel small for not knowing. You could tell he wasn't doing it for the job. He was doing it because that's who he is, and because he could tell I was a little over my head. In my experience that's rare anywhere, and rarer in the trades, where it's easy to take advantage of someone who doesn't know what they're looking at. Jim did the opposite. I haven't hired him yet -- the work I needed just wasn't his scope. But the moment I have drywall to do, Peña Drywall is the only call I'm making, and I'll be sending people his way in the meantime. Thank you, Jim!

Jim was very quick to get back to me with a quote to repair and paint my ceiling after a leaking…read morepipe damaged the existing ceiling. We were able to schedule the work quickly, which I really appreciated. The work was done in 3 days, new drywall, texturing, then priming and painting. Jim's team is friendly, professional, and very efficient at their work. I am very pleased with the repair and paint job. The cost of the work was very fair compared to a couple of other quotes I received from other companies.

TLDR; Disappointed with the lack of professional standards, unfinished project, and poor quality…read moreexecution. We are very sad to have to write this, as Ezekiel and Alma are kind people and do seem to have many hardships. However, this experience was so poor that we cannot in good faith recommend the services to others and hope others can avoid the challenge of working with them. We started working with Ezekiel in early July for a Level 5 drywall finish and painting project. By the end of October, the project remains incomplete and fell significantly short of industry standards. We paid a fair, standard market rate for professional results, but unfortunately, the craftsmanship and management of the job were highly problematic. Key areas of concern included: * Subpar Craftsmanship: The final result was far from a Level 5 finish. The walls were left uneven, rough, and chipping in many spots, uneven, pinholes, and dinged. There was repeated cutting of corners. For example the top side of the trim work was left covered in joint compound and unpainted, and multiple sections of the trim that were included in the paid scope of work were left entirely untouched or were painted in a blotchy manner. We pointed this out multiple times to Ezekiel and the subcontractor, and finally the subcontractor told us he was instructed by Ezekiel to not rectify this because the top of trim work is not easily seen. * Poor Paint Application and multiple Redos that still didn't meet standards: There was an overall lack of proper application and coverage, resulting in noticeable white patches, uneven paint drips, and scarce application throughout for a splotchy, uneven, haphazard finish. It seems as though there was an attempt to stretch paint supplies that overrode standards, or that two coats were not actually applied even though that was the scope of work. Additionally, proper drying times were not respected between applications, which left significant flashing across large areas of the walls on multiple occasions, resulting in multiple redos, which were done improperly and continued to lead to ongoing challenges with quality of work due to attempts to cut corners. * Unreliable Communication & Scheduling: Communication was consistently difficult. He frequently missed scheduled workdays or arrived late without notice, even after schedules were explicitly confirmed. He also sent another subcontractor to work on-site without our prior knowledge or notification; this was very shocking to us to have an unknown man show up at our door with no communication or knowledge of who he was. * Lack of Professional Boundaries: Throughout the project, he frequently wrote long communications regarding personal financial hardships and logistics. For example, requesting that we provide personal transportation to and from San Jose to the job site, badmouthing the subcontractor he sent, etc. While we maintained a high level of patience and empathy for his many cited hardships over nearly four months, it ultimately impacted the progress, professionalism, and completion of the project. We were also aware he was working other jobs and deprioritized finishing this work. We made every effort to accommodate delays and rectify issues over a nearly four-month period. However, after paying for completed work plus an upfront advancement for supplies for additional rooms and work--which he never started -- he walked away from the remaining work. We are now have to hire a different professional to rectify and finish the job. We unfortunately cannot recommend their services.

Two years later, we still received the same high level of professionalism, care, and respect from Partida Drywall. Oftentimes for whatever reason, home projects don't go as planned. But that was not the case with our project. It was completed on schedule and seamlessly. Javier was upfront and transparent with us, providing a timeline that was realistic and clear, and updates throughout the project. Ruben was the main person who worked on our project. He is a master craftsman who always showed up early, is polite and friendly. My first review for Partida Drywall still holds true and is affirmed by the excellent work we received with our latest project. Thank you, Partida Drywall.

They worked continuously for five months, applying level 5 smooth finish to numerous walls and ceilings. While there were a few missteps and revisions to the initial estimate, I'm ultimately satisfied with the final result. Due to time constraints, my own painters had to address a few texture imperfections, but overall, the process was smooth enough that I would recommend Javier for large, multi-month renovation projects.
