The movers arrived with a large box truck and immediately went to work, moving with a purpose. They were courteous, professional, and efficient. They disassembled, packaged and relocated everything with care. Upon arrival at the new place they unloaded everything, placed it wherever requested, and reassembled it with as much care. They all worked very hard, very fast, and all of their efforts were seamless. It was like my entire home was just picked up out of one house and magically placed in a different residence. Given the circumstances and the quality of work, I genuinely could not recommend a better service than Uncle Sam's Moving.

In a panic, I called Uncle Sam's and Mike was able to fit me the day after my original moving date. We had a virtual meeting so he could give me an accurate estimate based on my location and what I needed moved. The quoted price was exactly what I paid. He helped put my mind at ease and reassured me they would get me moved. His team did not disappoint. They moved my items quickly but with tremendous care. I would definitely use them again.

During the booking process, I was told a storage unit was available and that packing services could be included. I was quoted approximately $700 based on my inventory and an estimated four-hour move. I agreed and paid the required $100 deposit. As the move date approached, no one contacted me to confirm the details or provide information about the storage unit. Two days before the move, I called and spent over 45 minutes on hold before reaching Jeremy. At that time, I was informed that no storage unit was available and that my moving costs would be nearly double what I had originally been quoted. This left me in a difficult position because canceling would have resulted in penalties from my apartment complex, so I reluctantly agreed to proceed. I was told the crew would arrive at 8:00 AM on moving day. When no one showed up, I called again and spent another 45+ minutes on hold. I was then told the crew had worked late and would arrive at 11:00 AM. Again, no one arrived at 11:00 AM. The crew finally showed up at 3:00 PM seven hours late. By that point, I had already emptied all cabinets and prepared everything for packing and transport. After completing a walkthrough, Patrick, the lead mover, quoted me more than $1,200 for the move. At that point, I felt completely taken advantage of. Jeremy called while the crew waited outside, and I expressed my frustration with the repeated misinformation, lack of communication, and complete disregard for my time. I explained that I had utility disconnections scheduled and was essentially forced to proceed because I had no viable alternative at the last minute. After the call, I went outside to apologize to the movers and explained that I simply needed the move completed as quickly as possible. I then stepped back inside to take some trash out. When I came back outside, the crew was gone. No explanation. No communication. They simply left. This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had with a moving company. The constant misquotes, lack of communication, excessive delays, and complete abandonment of the job demonstrated a serious lack of integrity and respect for customers. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable movers.

They over charged me and broke my tv. One guy looked totally high wobbling all over the other was throwing up. Asking me for water and food almost dying of dehydration and were sloppy when their boss said they were late for taking lunch. This people seemed like they got picked up from the corner and had no idea what they were doing. DO NOT HIRE THEM u will pay the price like I did. The people they sent other than the girl were not fit to do the job and I lost a tv because of it and paid two times more the quoted time because of their unprofessionalism and they even lost the key to the truck. I got the run around every time I called and lost over one thousand dollars because of them. I don't wish that for anyone. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY this move was a horrific experience. I had to help because they weren't doing it. One tv broken and 5 hours later for 3 people plus me is unacceptable. I will not be threatened or forced to take this review down like they do to others and tried to do to me. BEWARE DO NOT HIRE THEM

We had scheduled an 8 AM move, but issues with their truck caused them to run several hours late. But they kept in touch with us the whole time and communicated updates very well. And when they arrived to perform our move, they even brought extra guys to help and only charged us for the original two that they had quoted us in our quote. The team was so nice and so efficient. We moved from a bottom floor quadplex shotgun in Mid City to a 14th floor high-rise in the CBD, and we are having trouble with our key fob not working correctly, and the team was so patient as we dealt with that. They were fast, friendly, and efficient and transparent with the price, and the final price was on the low side of the range they gave us in the original quote. I would recommend this Company to anyone due to their transparency and pricing, great communication, and efficient friendly team.

I was told everything was good to go. Then on June 4, I got a text saying they needed to cancel our June 6 move and asked if we could move on June 7 instead. After much back and forth, I agreed because we were on a tight timeline and needed to move. June 7 came and went, and no one showed up. No call, no text, no email...nothing!! I had to reach out myself to find out what was going on. Even then, nobody ever arrived. I called both phone numbers listed online multiple times and never got an answer. Eventually, I received a text telling me to contact someone named Daniel. I texted him and called three times, but never got a response. Then I got a random email saying the truck broke down and they'd follow up with an ETA... 1 hr went by... complete silence. At that point, we were essentially ghosted. No apology, no explanation, and no effort to help us find a solution after leaving us without movers on the day of our move. Moving is stressful enough without having to wonder if your moving company is actually going to show up. Unfortunately, that was our experience. Based on how this was handled, I wouldn't recommend them if you need a company you can count on.

Hiring Geaux Movers was an absolute nightmare so here's your warning. Not only did they not do…read moreanything I hired them for, THEY LITERALLY ROBBED ME. I should add that they may also go by "Fast Affordable College movers" (which is a joke in itself) because this is who billed me. This was my experience: I had already moved a majority of my furniture and boxes but I decided I wanted to cut myself some slack and hire movers and not have to bug any more friends for help. I called Geaux Movers a few times before I hired them to get an estimate and schedule a day I could hire them. During each phone call, I mentioned I really only need help moving a heavy dresser and some loveseats from upstairs. The loveseats didn't even need to go in the truck; just moved downstairs. The woman on the phone always responded with "oh no problem, two guys can take care of that." I insisted the dresser was large and heavy but every time we spoke: "nah two guys can handle it." So two scrawny kids show up the day of, look at the dresser, and immediately say they can't do it and that I'll have to hire two more people who aren't available for hours and they would cost hundreds of more dollars. They insist they couldn't bring sofas downstairs either which was funny becuase I grabbed my roommate as he was leaving the house and we got it downstairs right in front of them without a problem. Red flags are popping up. Since I'm waiting to hear back from the office about the additional movers to come, they start packing up boxes and other misc. things. Soon enough, the truck is filled with things I didn't need a moving company for. We go to my new house to unload everything and one of the movers is constantly on his phone and I'm running laps around him unloading the truck and he keeps randomly mentioning how he "has to go soon" despite me hiring them and paying them based on however many hours it takes. I come inside the house a couple times to find him kind of wandering. Fast-forward. The truck is now empty, I didn't hear anything back from the office about getting the extra men, and the two "professional movers" didn't touch the things I actually needed their help with. Just after a couple hours of having these two move boxes that I could've moved myself, I'm now out ~$600 and I'm left the with same problems I had before they arrived. I pay them and walk inside to find my credit card placed in a weird spot I've never left it. Knowing I had a card found and moved around my house, I called the Geaux Movers office and said "Look, it's probably nothing but I want it known that some funny business could've happened with my card. There's no need to punish anyone or say anything but I'll be keeping an eye on this account and let you know if anything happens." Well sure enough, charges pop up on that account the following weekend. I call the office to tell them that unfortunately I was correct in thinking someone was taking my card info. The guy I'm talking to says its above his paygrade so he'll have his boss call me back. Days go by with no call. I call them back; same story. "The boss will give you call." Days go by; nothing. I end up calling these clowns every few days for weeks. Weeks turn into months and I finally get a hold of the boss. He goes by Woody. I'm telling Woody what happened and he immediately turns extra defensive and hostile and claims there's no relation to what happened with my card and the random charges a few days later. He then changes his MO to "I don't care about the charges, the charges mean nothing to me, I don't want to hear about them. I'll talk to my guys about this and get back to you in regard to you not being satisfied with what they did." I then explain to him that because one of them is now using my card, I have to cancel it and I'm without a card for at least a week. He goes on to say it's my fault I was robbed because I had a card loose in my house while strangers are there. He says he can't vouch for the men they send out and I'm a fool for having it somewhere they could grab it. MY FAULT, HE SAYS. I'm in the middle of moving... all of my possessions are everywhere... This is the last I heard from Woody despite calling them every week for months looking for some sort of a refund because their prices aren't as advertised, they didn't actually move any furniture I needed moved (which I ended up doing successfully with another friend so I know it could've been done just fine), and one of them legitimately robbed me. Oh, I even went to their business address on Banks St hoping to talk to someone and it's just some residential house who has nothing to do with the company. Turns out they're located it Mandeville and not the address they have listed. Don't hire these people. The owner is heinous, they aren't capable, and apparently, they're criminal. I ended up renting a van and having one friend come over to do all the things they claimed were impossible. Maybe Woody will finally call back after posting this.

    # CONSIGNORS BEWARE…read more Okay, so I need to share my experience with Occasional Wife because this is honestly wild... The TL;DR? Their sticker system is a DISASTER and it's costing consignors money. Here's what's happening: They use these flimsy price tags/ID stickers that literally just... fall off? And when that sticker falls off, POOF -- your item becomes a ghost. No tracking number = no payment for you. The store just keeps 100% of the sale. I've personally seen MULTIPLE items sitting there with zero identification. No price, no consignor number, nothing. When you ask about it? "Oh, the sticker must've fallen off ‍" Like... THAT'S the system?? This isn't a one-time oopsie -- this is a pattern. And it's honestly unacceptable when real people are trusting this business with their valuable items. **Kay (the owner) -- if you're reading this:** Your entire business model depends on consignors trusting you with their stuff. But how can we trust a system where our items can literally become untraceable because of a bad sticker? Your consignors are literally filling your store with inventory. We deserve better tracking than "sorry, sticker fell off, guess it's ours now! " **Bottom line for anyone thinking of consigning here:** There's a very real chance your item will lose its ID and you'll never see a dime. You might as well be donating your stuff for free. Please, PLEASE invest in better stickers or a better tracking system. This shouldn't be that hard to fix. #OccasionalWife #SmallBusinessAccountability
