I saw Dr. Ralph years ago and he was wonderful. I was hospitalized about a month ago, diagnosed with a severe foot drop and last night had some of the WORST back pain that I've ever experienced. My physical therapist today palpated my back and was the FIRST person out of the dozens of providers that I've come in contact with this month who suggested that I go back to see a chiropractor. I explained the severity of my pain to the office staff and they squeezed me into their schedule earlier this evening. Mind you, ever since waking up one morning about a month ago with no feeling from the knee down, I have started to regain sensation in my leg but still had no feeling in the foot. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Where do I begin? I've been seeing Dr. Ralph for many, many years. I'm a hairstylist, working on my feet with my arms raised for most of the day, so my body is constantly out of whack. He truly appears to care for the patients he works with, so I'm sorry, but I have to share my experience. I was left with toes that were (and continue to be) very stiff and pain on the ball of my foot when I walk (also unresolved). I do not take issue with Dr. Ralph not being able to solve my foot problem because we both knew it may be unsuccessful. What I take issue with is the use of the ArthroStim, a jackhammer-like instrument that delivers rapid tapping, which he used on my repaired hammertoe. I told him the toe had been fused and that was what was supposed to be done for the repair. Despite that information, he used the ArthroStim. I noticed that low and behold, he recreated the hammertoe! I asked him to not use that device on my toe anymore, told him why (with no response from him) and we moved on. Why did I stay? I have a curved spine with a lumbothoracic gibbus formation which he told me he could straighten so it would no longer be visible. Excited, I was totally on board. Initially, it was amazing! I could actually see less of my protruding spine. Over time, with 3 day a week appointments, I felt like we reached a plateau and expressed this to Dr. Ralph. He reassured me, and we continued. It always came with some discomfort, both during and after, but again, he reassured me. Then one day (my last time seeing Dr. Ralph) he applied pressure and it wasn't discomfort, it HURT! I found myself having spasms accompanied by a great deal of pain for weeks after that appointment. I stopped by to let him know, but he was with patients so I told his daughter. I thought he would call me to touch base and see how things were going, but no such call came. End of story: My repaired hammertoe is, well, no longer repaired. I may have to endure another toe surgery to repair the damage Dr. Ralph did on the original repair. Dr Ralph has adjusted my entire family. He is pleasant and informative and has helped us through a number of back and foot issues. When I started going to Dr. Ralph, I was unaware that besides helping me with occasional back issues that he would also be able to solve the foot issues I had been having. I tend to get calluses on my feet due to some issue with the way my foot is constructed. When I mentioned this to Dr. Ralph, he said "oh I think I can help with that." Using his electromechanical tapping machine, he has basically removed all symptoms that I had been experiencing. It was quite amazing. I haven't needed to go back to my podiatrist. During the course of my treatment with him he also helped an imbalance in my leg length, and the disproportionate strength between my left and right shoulders. I've been seeing Dr. Ralph on and off for the past 4 years and he has helped me tremendously. My first visits with him were during my pregnancy because I was having significant issues with my sciatic nerve. It was bad enough that I could barely walk on my right leg without having pain. After seeing him, the improvement was fairly immediate and I was able to walk again (or waddle, since I was super pregnant!) with only minor issues. I continued to see him off and on. This past winter, I had a terrible flare up of my GI disorder and rapidly lost a ton of weight because I could barely eat. Medication and dietary changes were not cutting it unfortunately. I've been coming here for a couple of years now and I recommend Dr. Ralph to absolutely everyone who will listen. After only a couple of visits, I felt like part of the family. The design and decor of the office is so cute, warm, and relaxing. The ladies at the front desk are super friendly, professional, and always willing to chat and catch up. Each of the rooms are comfortable and there are interesting art and posters to check out. I have never waiting more than ten or fifteen minutes total. This is a great little practice. I actually chose this place literally out of thin air when my primary doc suggested I visit a chiropractor for my severe lower back pain. I didn't really know how to "choose" a chiro, so I let Google do it for me. The reviews looked pretty decent, so I called and made an appointment. I admit, I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing. Considering the fact that I was wrestling with myself over having found the place online and not wanting my back to be any worse, I still went. I had my MRI results faxed to their office beforehand and the Dr seemed genuinely concerned about my pain and the fact that I had no relief after 2 months of intense pain unless I took narcotics. I was in horrible pain for almost two weeks after helping a family member move. Every morning I woke up in agony, and would have to grin and bear through it for the first two hours until the tylenol kicked in, and I as able to be functional.
