Prior to seeing Dr. Shapiro I truly believed I would live the rest of my life in pain. Upon leaving his office after the first session, I felt immediate, life changing relief. A little medical backstory: - 2009: Fractured face (inferior orbit fracture, broken nose, cheek smashed to pieces and also pushed into my face about a quarter of an inch. Sinuses were also smashed. Had surgery and now have a titanium alloy plate holding it together). - Drummer for 15 years, which damaged my neck and shoulders. - 2014: C6 & C7 disc herniation. - January 2018: Car accident that re-injured my neck as well as bruised ribs. I have always had dull pain since my facial fracture, but I have been in a good amount of constant pain since the spinal herniation's. My main pain symptoms include stiff neck, pain down my arms (especially when playing drums) and the worst of the worst were the tension headaches that would ultimately lead to migraines. These migraines would cause blurry vision, confusion/foggy brain and overall shooting pain in my head/eyes. Needless to say, it was quite difficult to enjoy life while constantly feeling this way. Now with all of these issues, my PCP suggested long winded physical therapy or spinal injections. I have been practicing yoga to assist with stretching out my muscles around the injured bones, which helped to a degree, but I was still in an excruciating amount of pain. I decided to try out a chiropractor and I am beyond grateful that I found Dr. Shapiro. As I stated previously, I felt immediate relief after my first session. I haven't had a migraine headache since I began going to this office, it's been about two months. Going from having migraines a few times a month to not having them at all is a blessing. I can't thank Dr. Shapiro enough. Dr. Shapiro is easy to speak to. He explains everything that he is doing and also speaks about general life practices to increase ones overall health. I had been experiencing pretty acute neck pain, for months and months. I'd done acupuncture and even gotten massages. Neither of those did much to alleviate the pain and discomfort I was experiencing. I then figured I'd give seeing a chiropractor a shot. A friend recommended Dr Shapiro, and I'm very thankful she did. Upon meeting with Dr. Shapiro, we discussed the nature of my issues. He then did an exam, identified what he believed to be potential causes and then began the treatments. The whole time, he's explaining what he's seeing and doing. The last thing is the hot waterbed treatment (at least that's what I call it). You lay on a narrow bed, the upper section (which covers your back and neck) is basically a warm waterbed with jets that massage all around. For 10-15 he has you lay on it. It's AWESOME! (no better way to describe it) Overall, I couldn't have been happier with my first experience with Dr. Shapiro. I just went back for my second visit and it was even better than the first, because there was less to correct. read more

Dr. Shapiro is great! I started going to him roughly about a month ago. I've had neck pains, lower and mid back pains. I would also experience some pretty rough migraines due to my neck too. I'm an IT Admin so I spend a lot of time at my desk. Also, pre-pandemic I would drive Uber/Lyft quite often so I did a lot of sitting. I was actually quite terrified going to see a chiropractor. However, It was getting to be a little rough for me. The first session he had, he took the time to get to know my life style and had him pinpoint and show where my issues were. After my first visit, I was actually sleeping much better and night and found that a lot of my issues were gone. It was the first time I hadn't experienced back or neck pains in a while. I recently had gone back because I had slept awkwardly 2 weeks ago and was starting to experience headaches and had a slight pinch in my neck when I would turn it to the right. Dr. Shapiro ROCKS! Not only is he a great chiropractor, but he's a great guy. He is very through and takes the time to really understand what your issues are BEFORE he starts cracking away at your bones. He is a constant learner, so he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to various pain relieving techniques; Eastern, Western and the like. I have really appreciated his advice and his treatment and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has visited chiropractors and run screaming from their offices. Let me start by saying that I am a chiropractor and I can differentiate a great chiropractor from an average one. Dr. Shapiro is a great chiropractor. I went to go see Dr. Shapiro because he utilizes a technique that I'm interested in learning and asked him to adjust me so I can see how it is for myself. After speaking with him and observing how approaches patient care I was really impressed. His adjustment also blew me away. I was amazed at how great I began to feel even before getting off the table. It's definitely something that I will look into in the very near future. I have had chiropractic care basically my whole life but as of today, I hadn't been to a chiropractor in a couple if years. I recently moved into the city, and woke up with neck pain a few days ago. I thought maybe it was time to find a chiropractor where I lived. I went on yelp and read reviews and based on how close doctor Shapiro is to my house and his wonderful reviews, I gave him a call. He got back to me the same day and we scheduled an appointment for a consultation. His office is located inside of fitness works, so it wasn't hard to find. I had a great experience. Doctor Shapiro was so thorough and professional. He asked me questions about my previous care, what accidents I had been in or injuries that I had, and addressed my problem areas which caused me pain or discomfort. After assessing my posture and movement, I had a very comfortable adjustment. He explained everything that he was doing and why he was doing it and made me feel at ease. After the adjustment, I laid on a heated water bed that had jets to help my back have better circulation. One of the greatest pieces if equipment I have ever encountered. I was a bit skeptical about chiropractic care, and I still am about some of it, but Dr. Shapiro was able to take care of my back problems, and surprisingly enough, my headaches as well. He took an extensive history and did a comprehensive exam. He spent an hour with me the first time that I went. He was willing to accomodate my fears of crazy cracking, and came up with other approaches to the problem. He was flexible about scheduling, and did not try to get me to keep coming back when it became unnecessary. All in all, a very good experience.
