The front desk staff, chiropractic assistants, and doctors have all always been friendly, caring, professional, efficient, flexible, and effective. In addition to offering chiropractic adjustments, they offer nutritional counseling, massage therapy, a gym facility with a trainer, vitamins and other supplements, and special care packages. The services are offered but never pushed. I can pick and choose the services I need when I need them. It's my choice. Throughout the pandemic, they have taken care to clean surfaces between patients, do temperature checks, require masks, and avoid overcrowding. They even provided single-use pens for sign-in and for completing forms, cleaning them before putting them back out for future use. I highly recommend this practice. They help me, and they can likely help you.

I was in constant pain, getting injections every few months to help and never feeling well. I need to stand for parts of my job so it was a real problem for me, but I also felt pain non stop. My back pain had just gotten worse and worse over a period of years. They introduced me to extracorporeal shock wave therapy and now I am a completely evangelist about it. After about 6 sessions, I had no more back pain. Now I go back annually for a tune up and feel so free. I did not imagine there was a solution, and know that surgery on lower backs does not have great outcomes. So glad I went to Rittenhouse Chiropractic. Also, their staff is incredibly nice.

Ok, let's take this way back. Seven years ago I had never been to a chiropractor and was actually…read morescared to see one. For some reason I didn't like the "cracking" sound. However, I was experiencing immense neck pain at the time and was at my limit--I would've done anything to make the pain go away and go away for good. My cousin suggested Dr. Chris to me and after that very first visit, I had fallen in love with chiropractic care and continue to go to Balance for both my injuries and preventative care. Dr. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable. He'll answer every question I have and never makes me feel rushed. Some visits, I don't even mention what areas are bothering me, but it always seems like as soon as I get on the table he finds the exact spot that's causing the trouble. The location has also been very convenient no matter where I lived. It's right near Rittenhouse Sq and there's tons of public transportation options. I work near by and so quick lunch appointments are a plus. Several occasions I've stopped by without an appointment, and they always squeeze me in. Sometimes I'll have to wait a few minutes to be seen, but it's worth it--plus who doesn't expect some kind of wait for a doctor's appointment? I'd much rather wait 10 mins for an adjustment and feel instant relief than wait 45 mins at my primary for them to tell me there's nothing they can do about my neck pain. Over the years, I've also taken advantage of the monthly sales they've had to offer. I've had massages with Kathy, Steven, and Jeannille. These three therapists all have different styles, but every massage I've had has been fantastic. I wouldn't consider Balance to have a "spa-like" atmosphere, but I would much rather get a massage here than anywhere else as they are focused not only on relaxation, but also and more importantly, on healing. Ok so maybe I've raving about this place because I've been coming here for seven years, but then again I wouldn't have been coming here for seven years if there was nothing to rave about.

Mike is especially intelligent when it comes to all parts of the body and his work is unlike any other massage service I've ever received. I've recently begun working with their acupuncturist, Michelle, whose warm and thoughtful disposition is beat only by the way I feel after a session with her - incredible. I have a sense that Haven is just at the beginning of their impact on the Philadelphia community and cannot recommend this place enough.

I recently started getting acupuncture here, I admit that in the beginning, I was a bit nervous and…read morea bit skeptical. I tend to be someone who typically goes to the doctors office when plagued by an issue, although now I find myself checking out alternative therapies more like acupuncture, chiropractic, meditation, etc. I also was a bit fearful of needles when I initially came here after a traumatic experience before a surgery, but I'm thrilled that my fear has really dissipated thanks to acupuncture! I now relax and lay back when the needles are being put in and I'm really amazed because recently I had to get a lot of blood drawn and I just relaxed, held my arm out and went to my Zen like place, which is really great! Before acupuncture, I would have been much more anxious and on edge. I not only have arthritis in my knee, which is my primary reason for coming to acupuncture but I also have chronic pain- a condition which affects the body with widespread pain and tenderness called fibromyalgia, which is a misunderstood and baffling illness. So, I'm coming to Healing Arts for both! I would much rather have a Zen like afternoon catnap where I can relax that take lots of medications. I may not be able to completely avoid the latter but whatever I can do holistically and naturally will definitely be my preference. While I may not ever be cured of these conditions completely, knowing that acupuncture can really help me manage my symptoms is invaluable! It's a great way of coping, a huge tool in my toolbox of coping strategies and I would personally much rather have acupuncture any day than get injections and have to take lots of pills. I tend to come about once a month and the first couple of times I noticed some soreness but I have found much better results as I keep going. Occasionally a little bruise or soreness may occur but the pain relief, motion and relief from stiffness in joints is really amazing and awesome! My knee feels much better after going this 3rd time, much more movement when it was pretty stiff. They also have a Yelp deal, check in offers and all in all is a relaxing experience- chill out on a massage bed with pillows, calming music, refreshing scents, dim lighting and yes, some privacy too from the Shoji screens. I have had 3 practitioners- Margaret, Holly and Steve, I thought they were all good, I prefer Steve but they were all good. I'll be back!

I accidentally came in a week early for appointment after writing it down wrong (oops!) but the staff at HACA were so kind and accommodating despite it being completely my mistake, and were able to fit me in for a great session. The place was really well set-up with rugs, heaters, and screens to separate patient treatment areas that are all within the same large room. Holly Prescott was the practitioner that day and she did a great job asking what I was there for and then placing needles so gently I hardly felt them. It's rare that I slip into the deep, almost sleep-like relaxation I felt during this treatment, but I was so completely relaxed that it came easily. Thanks for the great session Holly!
