I recognized my back and neck pain were increasing to the point that I no longer could ignore it. Once I called I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly, they helped explain the costs upfront ($80 for initial 45 minute appt, and $40 for 15 minute adjustment appts thereafter). Considering it's convenience to my house, and that my insurance would probably make me pay $50/visit elsewhere, I felt this was very fair and I'm glad I chose Dr. Wilson.

In addition to offering chiropractic adjustments, they offer nutritional counseling, massage therapy, a gym facility with a trainer, vitamins and other supplements, and special care packages. The services are offered but never pushed. I can pick and choose the services I need when I need them. It's my choice. Throughout the pandemic, they have taken care to clean surfaces between patients, do temperature checks, require masks, and avoid overcrowding. They even provided single-use pens for sign-in and for completing forms, cleaning them before putting them back out for future use. I highly recommend this practice. They help me, and they can likely help you.

I've tried several different chiropractors, massage therapists, cupping, yoga (normal + hot), you name it. To be honest, I didn't expect to get much by way of results from acupuncture - how can little, barely noticeable needles do more than the more invasive/aggressive methods I've tried? To my surprise and delight, it actually did help a great deal. I can't tell you why, or how - Chris is much better explaining the science than I ever could, but I have much longer stretches where that spot has disappeared than I have with anything else I've tried! He really took his time with our first session, asking questions about everything from sources of stress, things I'm dealing with in life, things I've tried in the past... I tend to be someone who typically goes to the doctors office when plagued by an issue, although now I find myself checking out alternative therapies more like acupuncture, chiropractic, meditation, etc. I also was a bit fearful of needles when I initially came here after a traumatic experience before a surgery, but I'm thrilled that my fear has really dissipated thanks to acupuncture! I now relax and lay back when the needles are being put in and I'm really amazed because recently I had to get a lot of blood drawn and I just relaxed, held my arm out and went to my Zen like place, which is really great! Before acupuncture, I would have been much more anxious and on edge. I not only have arthritis in my knee, which is my primary reason for coming to acupuncture but I also have chronic pain- a condition which affects the body with widespread pain and tenderness called fibromyalgia, which is a misunderstood and baffling illness. So, I'm coming to Healing Arts for both! I would much rather have a Zen like afternoon catnap where I can relax that take lots of medications. I may not be able to completely avoid the latter but whatever I can do holistically and naturally will definitely be my preference. While I may not ever be cured of these conditions completely, knowing that acupuncture can really help me manage my symptoms is invaluable! It's a great way of coping, a huge tool in my toolbox of coping strategies and I would personally much rather have acupuncture any day than get injections and have to take lots of pills. I tend to come about once a month and the first couple of times I noticed some soreness but I have found much better results as I keep going. Occasionally a little bruise or soreness may occur but the pain relief, motion and relief from stiffness in joints is really amazing and awesome! My knee feels much better after going this 3rd time, much more movement when it was pretty stiff. They also have a Yelp deal, check in offers and all in all is a relaxing experience- chill out on a massage bed with pillows, calming music, refreshing scents, dim lighting and yes, some privacy too from the Shoji screens. I accidentally came in a week early for appointment after writing it down wrong (oops!) but the staff at HACA were so kind and accommodating despite it being completely my mistake, and were able to fit me in for a great session. The place was really well set-up with rugs, heaters, and screens to separate patient treatment areas that are all within the same large room. Holly Prescott was the practitioner that day and she did a great job asking what I was there for and then placing needles so gently I hardly felt them. It's rare that I slip into the deep, almost sleep-like relaxation I felt during this treatment, but I was so completely relaxed that it came easily. Thanks for the great session Holly!
