Dr. Sweet at Atlas Chiropractic in Lacey has given me great results. I have had an injury in my C1 and C3 for many years. He is the first chiropractor that has given me so much relief that I am much more productive. The Atlas orthogonal method is specific and training. Under his care my neck and back have continued to improve with regular visits and I am still seeing increasing health benefits after several years. Prior to starting my treatment at Atlas I experienced debilitating migraines and vertigo which led to nausea and throwing up. I've been waiting to write this response to you and also excited to do so. Also, I am not receiving any compensation nor was I even asked or told to write a review (not mentioned in anyway)... I am doing this entirely on my own. I visited Dr. Ryan Sweet, per referral from Dr. Jennifer Penrose (she runs a large physical therapy clinic in the area), for the first time on January 22nd. In the lead up to that appointment, I texted back and forth with him (he contacted me as a follow-up to my online inquiry). I had not agreed upon any obligation or financial exchange to him, nor even booked an appointment. And yet, he texted me on his phone and took hours of his own time from his life & family to send me various information (literally hundreds of words of cited material, knowledge, and research) about what I am dealing with, causes, treatments, and his own experiences for free. This is when I already knew that he was legitimate, in addition to the referral. I was going to wait for an MRI before first seeing him, but now I figured it wouldn't matter as I had decided that I was going to see him regardless. Fast forward to the 1st appointment, and it was very thorough, professional, and detailed. It was an informative consult which included x-rays as a "before" stage of your atlas. Unlike most chiropractors who on the first appointment, give you a rough idea of what's going on then crack/snap your bones and then schedule your next appointments which continue indefinitely. Dr. Sweet had actual metrics and calculations that you could follow and analyze--he had a goal to move your atlas and neck to a specific value and would take x-rays to show you what value it is currently at. Within that, he would tell you how/why that subluxation of your atlas could be causing the issues. To preface the 2nd appointment, I have had a multitude of symptoms for as long as I can remember and have seen all kinds of chiropractors, doctors, acupuncturists, massage & physical therapists, etc. Nothing helped. Migraines, neck and orbital pains that get cripplingly bad throughout the end. This would happen even after sitting for an hour or two, where I'd get excruciating upper back soreness and throbbing pain in my shoulder blades. Dr. Sweet mentioned the atlas subluxation likes to present as pain in these pressure points. I would also get incessant orbital neuralgia that would give me blurry vision in at least one eye every single day for most of the day, also presenting with aching and throbbing pain all day. To make it even more confusing, I always had various rib pain (particularly on the left side) that sometimes was stabbing pain shooting to my sternum, which led me to believe I may have a herniated disc or some other internal issue (which various scans and blood tests ruled out). Basically, I would have to be loaded on anti-inflammatories throughout the day as those were the only things that would help (in addition to some caffeine). I couldn't sit for even an hour, even standing for over an hour had become the most painful as my entire body would start to hurt and give out, from the bottom up. Only walking and sometimes laying down was comfortable and pleasant. I could not train or workout with any type of intensity, besides walking, or I'd have nerve pains all over and be basically crippled for a week or more. read more

It's only been day 1 and I'm already feeling better! Mind you I just previously had 2 back surgeries and was waiting on a 3rd until I met Ryan. He gave me hope! My daughter was so impressed with Dr. Sweet's techniques and results, she made an appointment for me before I even came to visit. I didn't think he would find much to work on, since I didn't have any symptoms or complaints. After the initial exam, I found out how wrong I was!! When your nerves are hindered by bones being out of place in your neck, ALL parts of your body, including your brain, can be affected. After my first adjustment, my sinuses opened, my lungs felt like they had twice the capacity as before and my digestive problems, which I'd had for years and which affected me daily, disappeared! I had been trying to take longer walks to help get some weight off, but one knee always hurt after one mile. Now I walk 4 miles, several times a week and have no pain in either knee. I know this sounds too good to be true but it is true. I'm almost 66 and I'd like to encourage people in my age group to stop chalking problems up to "getting older" and get in to see Dr. Sweet and his staff and see what can happen to you, once your brain can communicate with your whole body!! read more

I spent 14 years looking for a solution to my chronic, daily headaches. I lived off of Tylenol, and was known to be the one who always had it in my purse. Medical doctors put me through a regiment of headache medications, with the hopes that I could find one that I could take daily as a preventative medication treatment course. There was an insistence to mask the symptoms, because medically they did not see anything wrong. Headaches are too broad of a symptom with too many potential variables to really be able to treat effectively. I get that. I just assumed I would be killing my liver by the time I was 30 and was prepared to live with that when the time came. As time went on, my headaches became so persistent that the only time I didn't have a headache was during the 6 hour time frame that the Tylenol would be actively in my system. The moment the Tylenol wore off, my headaches returned. I wasn't able to sleep well because I would wake up in the middle of the night with headaches and I had two separate pillows that I would swap through the night, depending on if I was lying on my side or on my back, because they provided a little relief. I tossed and turned, I woke up grouchy, I spent chunks of my day being irritable. My husband finally pressed me to find a chiropractor, since nothing else up to that point had helped. I googled chiropractors in my area and was drawn to Dr. Sweet's office because of the vibe for optimal health and wellness that he and his employees project constantly. My first phone interaction felt like I was talking to an old friend, and Dr Sweet took the time to call me himself before I came in to be assessed. From the beginning, I felt welcomed. He found my atlas to be way out of alignment and justified the pain I had been experiencing, something I found lacking with my medical doctors. I've been going routinely for almost two months now. My headaches have almost disappeared, and it's taken a while to adjust to a life that isn't ruled by pain. Dr. Sweet at Leva Chiropractic helped me in ways that I didn't even realize were needed. For years I had this "mystery illness" that would leave me feeling nauseous, generally "icky" and with a headache. This would happen after sitting for a long time or being tense the day before. I had a pinched nerve, i was on massive amounts of pain killers, muscle relaxers, and i was still in pain, i had cried for days. Someone mentioned seeing a chiropractor, i literally called and walked into chiropractor clinics begging to be seen. Nobody took me. I called Dr Ryan Sweet and he stayed late after his clinic closed to see me. He saw me 3 times the next day. i was in minimal pain the next day with no pain meds. I was still in pain but i could function. I am now in no pain but still see him to maintain my results. I am so happy and impressed with his skill and knowledge, i decided to have him see my son who i was told would probably need surgery one day. Besides my son being able to literally run around now, which was hard for him, the strangest thing happened. He had wet the bed almost every night even though he was 7. We were tired from waking up every night, taking showers and changing sheets. He no longer pee's at all, unless he gets out of whack. My life has literally changed almost over night.
