I have been purchasing appliances from Atlantic Appliance for a few years now and have had nothing but an excellent business relationship ; including a "challenge" with LG. LG finally agreed the stacked washer/dryer was faulty and Mark Edwards was wonderful to work with and got the unit replaced. Did not happen overnight by any means; but it's all behind us! I was not the one having to deal with the "challenge" which I would have had to do, I believe, if I had purchased elsewhere. My wife and I made an error when we recently purchased a new washing machine. I visited 3 large retail stores and was told they could help me by selling me what was needed or they could not provide service to make it work. One store give me a couple of websites to look up people who might be able to help. IThat was not something we wanted to do. I decided to start by calling local providers. Luckily Atlantic was my second call. The service representative (Steve) listened to my request and said he didn't think he could do it but he would make a couple of calls to see what could be done. A few minutes later he told me that they had the product available and that they could make the installation. My wife and I were doing the Happy Dance. The job was completed in 2 days and the delivery/installation team was wonderful. Thank you Steve and crew. Lesson Learned: If you are replaciing a clothes washer that is on a pedestal,/platform, you can't use your existing pedestal for the new washer (even if it is the same company and size). Beware Bald Head Island owners... Ordered a Speed Queen Washer and Dryer to be delivered to the Bald Head Island Warehouse for delivery by barge to the island. Received a call from the warehouse today that the appliances were delivered unpackaged and they are concerned about potential damage in transit via the barge... When I called Atlantic Appliance, I asked why they did not wrap them in some sort of protective packaging for the transport after they were inspected in the Atlantic Appliance warehouse. Their reply was, "What do you want us to do? They are no longer our responsibility. They have been delivered." Disappointed in their service and lack of concern. Will see tomorrow if they are delivered undamaged. read more

Great sales process but no accountability or follow through after. I purchased a washer and dryer from Atlantic in 2020 and their delivery damaged both when delivering and called my Atlantic Sales contact to reject it and was informed they couldn't do anything and I'd need to go through the GE warranty and after nearly 2.5 years of going back and forth with GE, they won't cover it because it was damaged in delivery with a 3rd party. So if you go here then do not accept anything with damage because you'll be responsible to pay for it. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY! Purchased a kitchen worth of appliances. They delivered a broken dishwasher and REFUSED to replace it. They said we had to go through a GE warranty instead. The dishwasher was brand new and never used BUT we had to go through a warranty? They should have brought out a new replacement the next day. Now we are going on two weeks with a non working dishwasher and are still being told one to two weeks more. SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!! read more

This store has a lot of high end appliances and a pretty show room. However, the shopping experience is the downfall here. They have certain salespeople that work with certain builders and developments. If your salesperson assigned to your address is not in the building, no one will help you. You have to make appointments to go appliance shopping with the assigned salesperson. This is the major downfall here. The prices are also higher than surrounding stores. read more

(It's also very rare to find sales people who do not work on commission, which gives one more piece of mind!) We came in half an hour after they'd opened with the typical sob story: fridge died, need one ASAP (in addition to the usual food we had breast milk to salvage). They had so many models to choose from and so many price points. We were in and out in 20 minutes AND in spite of being swamped with deliveries, they offered to do it same day because of our plight. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Bought a refrigerator that was delivered and failed to work after a couple weeks. After calling Whirlpool they couldn't get a service person to us for 2 weeks. After speaking to Mark at Atlantic he agreed to swap it out for another refrigerator. My refrigerator died yesterday morning (6/5) and I had just bought about $200 in groceries. At 2 PM I walked into Atlanti Appliance and got excellent service from Richard Martindale. I got a good price on a great refrigerator. But the icing on the cake was that Atlantic was able to expedite my delivery. Do not do business with this company under any circumstances, specifically Wayne. They will sell you defective, damaged, dented and scratched appliances. When you report it they will wipe their hands clean of it and suggest you call the warranty company. After several rounds of calls, meetings and additional inquiries, likely having to involve the builders too, Atlantic may reluctantly refund you your purchase price but not before wasting days and days of your time. They also won't apologize and nothing is ever their fault. I'd rather go without a fridge than buy one from them! read more

Getting a new dishwasher was the worst buying and installation experience that I have ever had. The store would not allow me to return the appliance, but they also told one of their installers that the installation had started when it had not. In the end they were helpful (or they would have received even fewer stars), but not before I had wasted time and money and had worried that the installation would never happen. read more

We had a new house build and all KitchenAid appliances were bought at this store. We had difficulties with the refrigerator first. The lady we dealt with referred us to KitchenAid directly (after several messages from me asking what could be done). The other problem was the non-performance of the exhaust fan under the microwave. Again, after several messages and a few weeks, I still have not heard a word from this lady or anybody else in the store. I guess once you have bought items from them and you run into problems, you are on you own. You should think about it twice before ordering appliances from this store. After purchasing a new Trusst Builder Group home in late October and taking delivery of a KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator from Atlantic Appliance, we found it had a dent in the freezer door. A replacement door was ordered, but could not be installed because the wiring harness attaching the door had been super-glued. A replacement refrigerator was then delivered to my home, which had a flaw in the freezer door. Although we've had some stumbles with Whirlpool, Mark at Atlantic Appliance has agreed to deliver yet a third refrigerator to replace the second. This is the kind of service after the sale that ensures repeat business. read more

Despicable customer service after point of sale and having to deal with the owner directly was an absolute nightmare with a heated exchange laced with extremely rude remarks. I attempted to politely call in to speak with the original salesperson and was given the dismissive "we will call you back" but to no avail. Of course they are all smiles and sugar when they are processing your purchase but do not expect the same if you encounter a problem post installation. I doubt you have time to read all that I have to say so I will not bury the lead, do not purchase a thing from Atlantic Appliance, if you are at all interested in having customer service. First, we purchased a Bluestar 48" range and hood and a salamander. They arrived as promised and Atlantic has you use their recommended installer, David, who really works at the hospital and installs on the side. Atlantic will not tell you how much this person charges for an installation. They tell you that it is possible that you will void the warranty if you do not use him. They happen to also recommend an HVAC company that we have used during our house remodel and have found to be very good, prompt and fair. First, David comes to our home and enters, unannounced. He opens our back door, walks into our kitchen and begins to take photographs. Our cabinet installer happened to be working in the kitchen and he came and told us that someone had come in our house. We went in the kitchen to find a person who still does not think it necessary to introduce himself, taking pictures. We tell him who we are and ask who he is. I cannot give you a blow by blow of exactly how bad this man is at installing anything. He said we weren't sent the mounting bracket, we were, it was right in front of him but he didn't know what he was looking at. We asked him repeatedly to tell us what was needed and he failed to mention that we would need to ensure there was electrical outside to the vent fan motor. He came to our house three times and only worked the last time. He actually bragged to us that he was already five hours into this and hadn't lifted the first wrench. He then very slowly and methodically took twenty minutes to lay down a towel and lay out literally every tool in his tool chest. He may have used three of these tools but, you see, this way he can charge you for a full hour during which he is unpacking and then repacking his tools. He was short with us, thought he knew everything, obviously was using this experience as a way to learn how to install a salamander. Thank God for the HVAC company because they did all of the work, fixed many of the things he did wrong and refused to sign off on his work until he made it right. When he left, we found he had not screwed screws all of the way in and stripped screws that he had screwed in. The HVAC company wouldn't turn on the gas to the salamander because the installation was so haphazard that they were afraid the salamander would fall off the wall and sever the gas line causing a fire. When we called Atlantic Appliance owner, Mark, was "so sorry" for our experience but did nothing to repay us for the hours this man charged us because he didn't know what he was doing. Because we have a learning problem, we returned to Atlantic Appliance to purchase a Subzero Proline 48" refrigerator and an under counter wine cooler. They had the audacity to say that David would again be installing this refrigerator and we told them there was no way that he would ever be allowed in our house. The salesperson just stared at us and finally, when we insisted that there must be another installer that they use, he admitted they did have another company that they use. The other company is actually a company, DC Services, and they do installations. They don't work somewhere else and pick up installation jobs on the side. They were phenomenal, but could only install the refrigerator because the wine cooler did not arrive as promised. read more

Recently, my husband I built our home. I stopped in Atlantic just get a peek at what they had and left 2 hours with all my kitchen appliances. The purchase was like every experience I have had with them; a real breeze. Any problems and situations were quickly addressed and resolved. The were knowledgeable and confident. They even helped me get my rebate which I never seem to get because I always forget something. I cannot say enough about professionalism and customer service. First they ordered the wrong dryer and delivered it to my home despite multiple calls from me to ensure that they were ordering items for my new construction They were unapologetic, unconcerned and unable to figure out a solution. I suggested a loaner appliance. They sent one - it didn't work. Two days later, they sent a repair man for the loaner dryer and sent him to the wrong address!!!!! I recently ordered and purchased a door lock and handles for my french doors which had been hard to find. Upon purchase I realized it did not have the actual lock box needed for the door to actually lock and be of use to me. Upon calling Atlantic Appliance I was told not only could I not return the $160.00 handle set because I had taken it out of the box and held it up to the door to see if it was a match, which it wasn't, but that the "lock set" I ordered doesn't come with the actual lock box. I was never told about this and now they are sticking me with $160.00 worth of worthless handles and keys. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company here in Wilmington,NC. As a native of Wilmington, I would have hoped I would get treated a bit better than "oh well, sorry and good luck." Also, I just payed for this yesterday and called today about this issue. I have tried twice going to Atlantic Appliance to buy our appliances. And both times I have had surprisingly terrible customer service. The first guy was super knowledgeable but didn't have much in the way of people skills. I could get over that one. This place has lots of great products! So I tried again. Couldn't get over it the second time. The guy (we'll call him Mr. Belly) was more interested in text messaging than me. When he finally acknowledged me, he could not have been more condescending. Then he chastised me (I'm not kidding; another sales guy witnessed it and looked a little horrified) for buying other products elsewhere. Huh? I'm here to buy a product from you now. I found myself repeatedly having to defend myself. Finally, I collected myself and walked out. Certainly everyone in there is not so rude and I hear the owners are quite decent. But I'm afraid two strikes you're out on this one. I drove way out of my way to a local competitor where I was treated courteously. Guess who got the business. read more
