Normally go to the nice older lady at the register but got slid to a lady I haven't seen and I forgot to write the price of the screw and she was so snappy and just plain rude. Called this morning and asked if they have pool salt. They said yes. So I said I'll be right over. I went right over, 10-15 min, and was told that they dont have pool salt. I used to like this store but that is the kind of BS customer i expect from Home Depot! read more

I went into the hardware store today 06/17 to buy a paintbrush for a home project i'm working on. I walked up to the register and the older women with silver/grey hair proceeded to tell me i put my things on the wrong side of her register and that it was "her personal space" and then when I asked if I could use one plastic blue glove she told me it wasn't allowed. It rubbed me the wrong way that me trying to help a local and most likely family owned business had such an unwelcome interaction with a staff member. I'm unsure of her name but I believe that this business may need to do a review of some of their staff because it was distasteful and I will take my business elsewhere next time. read more

This is a GREAT hardware store!!! The staff members are very knowledgeable and eager to help. And... They also carry a full array of STIHL outdoor tools. I'm on my way to get a new hedge trimmer as soon as they open. Their prices are fair and the service is excellent! This is an amazing store, a rare find anywhere. They also carry lots of things you can't get at Lowes or HD as well as stuff they do have. Need a dock float? They got it. Need only one 5" lag bolt and washer, galvanized? They got it (and you don't have to buy 10 at the time). Just pick out however many you want from the bins that have all the sizes you can imagine. Need stainless? They got it!, Rope? Chain? Cable? By far the best hardware store i've ever been to in this town. I shop there regularly and I can tell you there's as much staff if not more in this small hardware store than a box store. The difference? Their employees have been working there a very long time and that should tell you something. They also have better inventory than any other place I know when it comes to marine fittings hardware and staple household items (light bulbs) and tools. read more

THIS is a hardware store. A little pricey, as they are walking distance to the public boat ramp, and sell an incredible array of stuff to fix just about anything that floats. They even have a workshop in back to fix just about anything, I bring my window screens here as I don't have the patients to do it myself. read more

One time a buckle of my son's sandal broke and turned to Craft American Hardware for help. I not just found something to fix it, the friendly staff at Craft American Hardware fixed it for me and my son was able to wear his newly repaired sandals when we left. I am amazed at how I can find things here that cannot be found at the big box stores. Also the personnel know their stuff. The selection is incredible. If it's not in the store they order it from the warehouse. My 2015 Chevy Tahoe has a dash alert telling me my Key FOB battery needed to be replaced. I watched a Youtube video explaining how to pop it open and replace the battery. When I tried to do this simple task, it was clear I was going to damage the keyfob, so I was headed to the hardware store anyway to get a battery, so I decided to ask their staff for assistance with popping open the key fob. I should preface this by saying Craft Hardware has always given good customer service and help with minor repair questions. But today was totally different and quite surprising. When I asked the lady at the front counter, she called one of the employees from the back, and when I explained to him I was looking for help popping open the key FOB, he rudely said he didn't know anything about Chevrolets and didn't even bother to look at my key FOB. I was shocked at his total lack of customer service. Then he walked off. So, then I went to the aisle in the store where the screw drivers are located, because I wanted to use one to attempt popping the key fob open. I saw the same guy who had brushed me off and another (supposedly an employee) standing in front of the screw drivers, and when I asked where the screw drivers are, they showed me but offered no other interest in what I might need. I mentioned to employee #2 what I was attempting to do, and he said "Just throw away the key FOB, nothing good about electronics, anyway". I was pretty amazed, and I asked "Really?" A sarcastic comment was his only reply, and it was clear I was going to get no help from the Craft Hardware staff. I am totally amazed at the terrible service and attitude at Craft Hardware, after years of nothing like this. I will avoid re-visiting their store. read more

My brother was in the store and as an old woman walked away, the associate cursed her out behind her back. Another time going in the employee at the desk did not know price of screws, made him go back and check price, then got mad at him for paying with a card because he did not have cash. read more
