I just love this place. Almost finished up with my advanced open water cert. Josh Beard is an excellent instructor, very patient and thorough. I will keep coming here for all my diving needs.

Had an awesome time learning to dive with Bailey! Every interaction with the shop and staff was great. We did private lessons with just my wife and me and that was the way to go for us. Pool on Monday, Devils Den on Tuesday and finished with amazing drift dive down Rainbow River from K.P. Hole. The whole experience was challenging for two 60 year-olds but it was also very fun. Any part that we struggled with, Bailey was super patient and tried different techniques to help us. We ended up getting everything and achieved PADI Open Water Certification in the 3 days as well as Nitrox Certification. What a sense of accomplishment! We now can't wait to go on some dives with the folks from this shop as well as dive during an upcoming vacation in St John USVI in May. Many thanks to Atlantic Pro and especially Bailey!

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this shop. Bailey is always helpful when I come in or call. I did my open water, nitrox and advanced open water here. Jen is a wonderful instructor. She was very patient with me going through all the courses. Her and Bailey both really know their stuff! I also had the opportunity to go on one of the trips they schedule throughout the year. My boyfriend and I recently went to Utilia Honduras!!! It was an AWESOME trip! We did 16 dives and both did our advanced course. Jenn was in charge and everything ran so smooth and if it didn't we had no idea. The resort was really nice and staff were excellent. We really had a great time! I am a much more confident diver now because of this trip. Cant wait for another one!

Firstly, this is a dive shop in Jacksonville but the training does not take place in the ocean but a hundred miles away from the shop past gainsville for which you have to provide your own transportation, accommodation, and transport all of the rental equipment as well. Next, the amount of people that they allow to take this course at a time is way too many. For my open water course there was one instructor and ten students. 90% of each dive we were forced to be underwater, cold, not doing anything while the instructor made his rounds to the other 9 students. Not only was the instructor split between the open water students, but he was also actively training advanced students as well on the same days. This means the open water students were constantly waiting for the instructor to be done with the advanced students before we could get our training and go on our dives. What could have been done in 3 hours was stretched to 8 hour days because of the dive shop's greed for more customers. The instructor himself did seem like a good guy but the organization, the lack of shared information, and the fact that twice as many people were allowed to sign up as there should've been made this an awful experience where I was wishing I had gone with any other shop.

As a certified NAUI/CMAS/SSI Advanced SCUBA Diver, I am pretty "particular" with the Dive Shops I…read moredo business with as well as the Dive Training & Excursion Programs - for me it's all about the first-rate quality "experience" and safe/comprehensive instruction rather than the "product-push" centric focus shops I hate having to deal with (kind of like buying cars). So when I connected with Bil Gates (Bil it's one "L" real name no kidding) at Scuba Rite who is both Manager and Instructor of the local JAX Scuba Rite Shop off Belfort Rd, I was so pleased to know that he "gets it" and "gets me!" I love that Scuba Rite is very quality training focused and makes this the primary element of their business model. They are moving away from equipment sales and laser-focusing on their broad training curriculum of Courses towards Diver 1-4, Master Diver, Nitrox Diver and Instructor Diver Level Certifications. Moreover, Scuba Rite provides customers with a "try SCUBA" experience (single and couples) which allows first-timers to "get your feet wet" and safely explore the underwater world without full-certification. IMO, this is a great progression towards the full certification program (Diver 1). The best part of what Scuba Rite offers is the fabulous locations that they use for their training and excursion dives: Troy Springs, Fanning Springs, Blue Springs, Devils Den Springs and my personal favorite Ginnie Springs (where I completed my NAUI Openwater 1 Rec Diver Certification). I highly recommend Scuba Rite if you are looking for Dive Training & Excursion Programs that are first-rate in "experience" and instruction!

Fintastic Diving Adventures is an amazing Scuba Diving company that specializes in classes, certifications and trips for the whole family. I highly recommend them. Though based in Jacksonville, FL, they regularly hold classes in Atlanta. I've been scuba certified for over 30 years but I took a refresher course with Fintastic after being away from the sport for a while. The owner, Saffron, also taught my children to dive and we have traveled with her on more than 10 trips. Each one was organized, professionally done and tons of FUN. You can rent her gear for classes and trips or she can hook you up with your own gear at reasonable prices. Well known and respected in the diving industry, Saffron is a wonderful teacher with over 6,000 dives. Sitting on multiple Scuba Safety Councils, she is the person that professional divers recommend when asked for the name of a scuba instructor. Saffron's background in marine biology is a great help in identifying wildlife above and below the water. To top it all off.. Saffron is a nice person and I think nice matters. Apart from the group trips she arranges, she often accompanies private groups who want their own dive master with them on their trip. Check out their website !

The Devil's Den is a fascinating hidden gem that offers a true taste of Florida's unique geology. A cenote is a natural sinkhole formed when limestone bedrock collapses. Most are very unique and all share that they seem to have crystal-clear groundwater beneath and an opening above for sunlight to reach the water through a hole in the ceiling. It is essentially a window into an underground aquifer. The springs typically have 72-degree spring water making it cool and refreshing no matter how hot it is outside. The experience is especially rewarding if you're visiting a cenote for the first time. The entrance is easy to miss from the walkway. We walked right past it. Gear rentals are available on-site, making it accessible even for beginners. You check in at the office and pay your fee and sign the waivers and then you can enter and descend a set of stairs with a notably low ceiling. Watch your head!. It is a little bit dark on the first landing but it had plenty of light at the large landing by the water. Below, the cavern opens up to reveal the stunning underground spring, perfect for snorkeling. We did not go snorkeling this visit but may try it the next time. Right next to the cenote is a pleasant above-ground pool area with a beach area and chairs. Right next to the cenote entrance are several covered tables for groups.. It's a convenient spot to dry off, eat a snack, or simply enjoy the surroundings after your swim. Overall, Devil's Den is a neat and unique geological feature that's well worth the stop, especially if you're exploring central Florida's springs. It's not a large site, so you won't spend all day there, but the chance to snorkel inside a real cenote creates a memorable, bucket-list moment.

You can play volleyball in the water (or on the lawn), make your way to the middle island in the pond and relax on a hammock, or simply relax in the water. The spring itself is down some stairs. It costs $30 to snorkel and I think $50 to scuba. You have to have mask and fins on at all times - you can't just swim in the spring. We're here in the "off" season and it hasn't been crowded at all. If you want to enjoy just the swimming pond / Oasis it's $15 a day. It's free if you camp here. The campground itself is small, only 30 sites. Most have full hookups and 5-6 are electric only. It's shady and quiet in the campground. We will definitely stay here again!
