Since, I am relocating, I've had to travel from 100 miles in order to view the property. My appointment was made thru the Ms. A, property manager, 1 week prior to viewing the property today. It is a sad day only to find out she had rented the place already with no phone call to me to say do not come. I told her that I will be coming out of town to view this house. Well where is integrity and respect to customer that are out of town. After calling her to let it be known that we were at the place early, that is when she finally answered the line to say "I am sorry, tried calling the people on my list". Grant you I have a cell phone and there is no call from her. A letter will be going out to their board. No customer out of town or in town should ever be treated like this. GE Matthews will never, ever have my business again.

He said I needed to move out .. have an estate sale .. paint and go modern .. ..gave me a name of a big time lady from northern Va. .. she came to my house and raved about all my furniture, paintings , clocks , etc .. she put it on schedule .. cancelled 2 dates then turned it over to someone else in Richmond, who absolutely robbed me .. John never oversaw the estate sale , took a 9,000 square foot house of Georgian style furniture, Grand Piano , beautiful custom made rugs , Grandfather Clocks , Dining Room , 4 Bedrooms of very nice quality furniture? lamps and paintings, Den, Living Room , Tea Parlor , Beautiful Large Antique Entrance Foyer.Furniture .Silver , China , Paintings ., so much more .. i had no idea it was going to be a huge flea market .. I was told to stay away during the sale .. everyone was so excited it went well they said .. His designer was thrilled ., John too .. well when the check came in the mail .. it devastated me .. I still am sick beyond measure .. Heartbroken .. I am sick , how could I be such a fool to trust this man ., The check was for $600 .. $600..!!! John tried to down play all of it . he didn't raise any arguments with the estate company in my defense .. He did nothing .. told me when we closed he would give me $10,000 to make up for it .. lol .. well long story short , he is no longer my realtor .. this estate sale happened less than a year ago .. $10,000 was a drop in the bucket .. my baby grand was worth $5,000 .. but John never gave me a penny ... i was left with an empty , ugly inside of was once a gorgeous Williamsburg Mansion .. He Completely dismissed me .. treated me with great disrespect .. I hope to find an awesome lawyer and sue him and his company .. no one selling their home should ever have this happen to them .. on top of this horrific estate sale I spent over $100,000.00 on my house , John said it needed to put on the market .. but I have had so much feedback that it was the biggest mistake ever to listen to him and his designer ... they painted over original murals .. painted everything stark white .. it's been awful ..

There were so many hiccups and this company held almost $4000 of my funds in "escrow " due to an erroneous debt less than half that amount from 2012 that was paid off in 2013!!!!!!! They refused to release all of our funds after closing and made it terribly challenging for my husband and I to get our money back even after providing multiple times through emails and and phone calls receipts that the debt was erroneous and had be paid off in FULL 10 years ago! I ended up having to drive almost 2 hours to go in person to their office to speak with someone about the matter. Once I got there, they were very polite and accommodating in refunding our money from closing because they knew that they were dead wrong in how they dealt with our family in such a harsh way. BUT WHY did they put our family through this terrible experience in the first place?! We were told by our Title company that had done what they were supposed to do but Appomattox Title still kept holding our funds unlawfully. Questionable business practices.
