This shop is very attractive, clean and well organized. The receptionist was lovely and I had a very great experience. I couldn't have received better and more gracious service than given. I highly recommend Maryland Clock and Watch Repair! Darlene Castle

I contacted them in March 2026 by phone and was told it would be another 6 months or September 2026. It is now 10/2026, not a single phone call or email in the whole time. Really?? Am I being unreasonable to expect these people to do anything except wait for me to die of old age? I want either the repaired clock installed with no further expenses to me or return the clock as is and my $2K deposit.

I hired him many years ago to move my grandfather clock when I bought my home. I didn't want to…read morerisk any damage and wanted an expert. He did a superb job. I've had him out a few times since for maintenance. I just got off the phone with him today. I cranked up the weights too far and hit the stop, and the clock ceased to function. It's been broken for months, just haven't gotten around to calling him. I called today and left a message. He returned my call within a couple hours, and walked me through a fix over the phone. Explained everything in great detail; he's VERY knowledgeable about his craft. I would have been perfectly content to spend $100+ on a home visit for him to fix this issue, yet he instead spent 15 minutes with me to walk me through it over the phone. A true gentleman :) Yes, his schedule can be long as other reviewers have mentioned. I made an appointment for a regular maintenance while I had him on the phone. Today is Dec 16th and his first slot was February. But you know... that's fine. It's a clock, not heart surgery hehe. Waiting a few months is fine, and worth it for service by a man of his caliber and expertise. PS - I have no idea why it said I'm from San Francisco, lol. But to be clear, I am not a "lost Yelper" clicking the wrong company. I do mean Ye Olde Clock Shoppe in New Freedom, PA :)

CONSUMER ALERT - Ricardo's Gems & Jewelry…read more I hate to write a complaint but would like to make other consumers aware of a problem at this establishment. I brought in a one of a kind bracelet given to my daughter by my late wife and the owner lost it while awaiting repair. This was only discovered after numerous phone calls and a face to face confrontational conversation which revealed the truth. He offered to make it right by making a custom bracelet out of a silver necklace. When my daughter came to pick it up, no work had been done on the bracelet and the owner summarily dismissed my daughter by wrapping the necklace around her wrist and telling her that would work. She was so distraught, she just left. I would stay away from this organization as they are not operating very well right now.

My experience at Smyth was just okay. My sales associate Lilly was pleasant & knowledgeable but it…read morewasn't a personable experience. Along with shopping for an engagement ring I was also hoping to find a jeweler I can come to in the future for other jewelry. Did not find that here. My ring also had to be resized like 3 times. I was never measured but because I could fit the display 6, Lilly ordered a six. Too small. I then went back, still wasn't measured, ring still too small. THEN I go back on the day they said my ring would be ready. I have no email (because the person typed my email in wrong) but I have the receipt that says what day my ring would be ready. I go. The lady says she can't find it. I leave, sit in my car for a little bit, find the receipt and demand that she checks again. She magically finds it. Eye roll. And now, the ring is too big. I'm FINALLY measured. Finally. And they redo the ring again. It fits. Would not recommend or return to Smyth in Timonium for jewelry purchases.
