After stem cell treatment on my right knee (March 2021), I signed up for Aquatic Therapy at One to One (Boca Clinic). Lucas treated me with the highest quality of physical therapy in a heated pool; his expertise in Aquatic Therapy is second to none! He was extremely patient and knowledgeable with guided exercises in a heated pool. Firsthand, I learned how the warm water allowed me to move my knee with increased flexibility, less pain, and a broader range of motion. I loved every minute of Aquatic Therapy; I hated getting out of the pool at the end of each session! Unfortunately, the stem cell treatment did not kill the pain in my knee. As a last resort, my orthopedic surgeon recommended a complete knee replacement. Successively, I received a total knee replacement in March (2022). Since then, I have received ongoing physical therapy two times weekly from Dan (One to One, Boca Clinic). I can't rave enough about Dan! He has greatly enhanced the restoration of movement in my knee since the first day of my treatment with him (March 2022). His combination of therapeutic exercises, assisted devices, and manual massages significantly increased my recovery process. He is quite skilled in easing inflammation, minimizing pain, and safely treating different tense areas. He has also optimized my recovery by identifying specific movements and recommending helpful exercises at home. In addition to Lucas and Dan, many others influence the highest quality of care at One to One. As you walk through the front door, you are warmly greeted by a talented team of professionals. The receptionists at the front desk go the extra mile to schedule sessions around individual work schedules. While it has been tough for me to get my dad to his appointments as scheduled, due to work or illness, I always call ahead and give as much notice as I can. These guys are THE BEST. I have done PT pretty consistently for the last 10 years due to ankle…read moreinjuries (because I'm a klutz) and a spine injury from being rear-ended. I have worked with some very good PTs over the years. Zach and Stephanie are better! The care and attention they (and their team) provide is top notch, and they are incredibly knowledgeable. I have never felt rushed through my appointments, and have plenty of dedicated 1:1 time with my PT. Their PTA's, Damon & Svenja are just as amazing as Zach & Stephanie. Guiding you through your stretches & exercises, providing incredible support and expertise to make sure you're doing it right. As with any PT program, you have to trust the process. My baseline was unable to leverage a glass of water in front of me, and unable to sit or stand for more than 30 minutes without significant pain. Stephanie started me off with such tiny movements and stretches that I wondered if it would even work. The end result has been steady progress without any major setbacks, and the appropriate amount of discomfort. (You just can't avoid discomfort when you're rebuilding musculature) Stephanie takes into consideration my day to day life, how I need (and want) to function, and has tailored treatment to help me move through the world on my terms. All while getting closer every day to being pain free. The warmth and connection from them to their patients is felt the instant you walk through the door. I am confident they can help anyone. So back in mid 2023, I broke my foot... Like the devastating kind of break. I had three fractures…read moreand a torn ligament that resulted in a major surgery that required four screws be placed in my foot to stabilize it and pin the ligament while it healed... End to end, I spent the better part of seven months in a boot. It was pretty awful. After surgery, my orthopedic surgeon recommended physical therapy... He said that it definitely could help me and I should give it a shot, even though I was skeptical. It's important to note that I was over 300 pounds when I had my final surgery and I was in a very weird place where I had to exercise if I wanted to lose weight, but my injury was so grievous that anything more than a slow walk was excruciating the next day. Enter Nate at Anchor Physical Therapy... I had my initial intake with him and while I did try another therapist, they weren't as good as a fit, so I adjusted my schedule to make sure I was available when Nate was available, and I started showing up for his first appointment every Friday morning. I've been working with Nate for over a year and while weight loss was definitely not part of our goal setting together, it was part of my personal journey, and he contributed to this greatly. He gave me homework, and I did it... Ensuring that I was moving my body, stretching, and doing the little things that he asked me to do in order to get better. This is an essential part of the journey, doing the homework. I won't bore you with all of the myriad of details of my recovery, but suffice just to say that in the last year I have lost 90 pounds, and I have graduated from a hobble to training for a 5K, after being told that it was likely I would never run again. With help from Anchor Physical Therapy, I have overcome the odds and in spite of injury, osteoarthritis, and schedule challenges, I've come out on top. As far as details go, I would also like to add that the front desk staff and management is phenomenal. They were always really great about dealing with my insurance, which is Tricare and that can be challenging at times. The referrals didn't always come through the right way, or there was a hiccup, but they always made sure it got taken care of, and they communicated every step of the way.
