This is an update to a prior review. Advanced Pain Care is located in Hobart, IN. I been going to…read morethis place for many months being promised pain relief, but was told it was a long process. Well the pain has not gotten any better but has gotten worse. Ive asked my doctor, dr. ring why I am in more pain since performing a procedure, but he wouldn't answer my questions. I have left messages for him both in person and by phone to no avail. I have chosen to find a new doctor so my husband recently went to his office and spoke to him because the office hasn't responded to a request for my records. My husband said Dr Ring immediately became condescending and controlling. As the conversation progressed my husband maintained his composure, but he said the doctor became ruder by the minute. Dr. Ring eventually threatened to call the police if my husband didn't leave as well as telling him he was trespassing and to never come back. Not wanting any trouble he did leave. We decided to do some research on him as a result of this experience. We found from online reviews and people we spoke to    that he immediately resorts to calling the police and tells you that your trespassing if you question him in any way. He initially seems cordial so you get drawn in due to your pain, but months later you realize you're worse off and you get no relief, just promises. His staff is completely disorganized too and there seems to be constant turnover. I can see why since its a hostile environment to patients and likely for staff too. I looked at online reviews of him and his response to them is to tell his patients their reviews of him are self serving, then accuses them of being drug adicts. This is beyond appalling. He has also been investigated before and you can find that info if you do some research too. We have never seen anything close to resembling this mans behavior and he should be investigated, again. I am traumatized by my experience, still in chronic pain, and left wondering if the procedure he performed has left me with with permanent nerve damage. For those seeking relief from pain we understand how difficult it can be to find a doctor who can not only help, but one you can trust through the entire process. If you find a doctor in your search and sense something wrong on your first visit, leave and continue your quest, but don't lose faith. Please take this review seriously and do your research so what happend to us never happens to you.

My husband hurt his wrist and has been in pain for a few days. We decided to come here first since…read morethe pain was bearable. We've had a good experience here in the past but as of today that has changed. The person at the front desk window should not be working in a care setting or any setting. Her empathy level is negative zero. Her speech is that of a robot with passive-aggressiveness sprinkled in. She was very matter of fact not only with us but also other patients. This is an immediate care center that is new and shiny on the outside but it's just a facade.

So many things go wrong with this place:…read more - Hard to set timely appointments because scheduling secretaries don't answer the phone, rely on voicemail - Late appointments (waiting over an hour for 8:10am appt with dr plank right now) - Staff knowledge continuity about patients (nobody takes the time to review patient history before walking into the room) - Incomplete testing orders - Insufficient medical outcomes - Broken internal communication because people don't read medical records - Issues with medical record keeping system updates cause data corruption - some medical staff unaware of procedures performed here (one claimed they don't do steroid injections despite my previously getting steroid injections there) Very disappointed. I'm living with constant pain because lakeshore bone and joint is unable to deliver a good medical service. I chose the wrong place. Go elsewhere.

My Father-In-Law was transferred to this facility for difficulty breathing. After he was there…read morethey discovered multiple blockages in his heart. They decided, after a couple of days to do an angiogram. During this procedure, something came loose that caused a stroke, a grade 3, one of the largest strokes you can have. This facility is not prepared for stroke care, they offer none. So, if you pay attention to anything about strokes, once you have a stroke, the first hour is the MOST critical. It took FOUR hours (from the time the procedure for the heart started to the time they rolled my FIL into Community to try to start to remove the blockage for the stroke) for my FIL to be transported to Community hospital and then receive the treatment he needed to have the blockage from the stroke removed. By the time we laid eyes on my FIL, my husband and I just knew that it was too late and the damage had been done. Community did a great job on the following, but St. Mary's not being fully equipped to be ready for a stroke is where is all started. They should not be licensed to even perform these procedures. By the next afternoon, we had to make the decision to put my FIL on hospice. I would NEVER recommend this facility as they can't solve a problem if it arises. I hope no other family has to go through what we just went through. For the sake of your loved one's health, avoid this facility at all. During our time at Community, this is a full-service facility that is really like a Trauma Center, but is not actually "classified" as a Trauma Center. If it is at all possible, I would just go to Community.
