I went to visit her and immediately smelled that she had gone to the bathroom and took her to her room, the nursing director came in and asked me to keep her in her chair for lunch I just looked at her and said don't you smell that she needs to be changed she just stared at me. The facility smells like piss and shit so she might have gone nose blind. It took 30 minutes for her to be changed. Then they told me that she had a UTI because they had left her in her diaper to long. Was very pissed to hear that. I asked the nurse why my mother was wearing someone else's clothes since I had just bought her brand new ones, the nurse told me that they were from the lost and found and that she didn't want to take the tags off the new clothes I had bought. Weird logic. I understand they have activities and want the residents to be involved but they clearly saw her crying being uncomfortable and rather than taking her to her room to be alone and get comfortable forced her to interact. They seem to want to make it easy for them not easier for the residents.

My mother cannot get out of bed without help, dress herself, or even go to the toilet without help. Alden told the Medicare review that she is ok to go home. The quality of this facility is awful. My mother needs more PT and is forced to pay 500.00 per day for her care. It really seems like they are in it to make money and not care for people. Also, the administrative staff is the worse. In fact there is only 1 person to advocate for patients and theat person has no compassion for people. I highly recommend you do not use Alden.

Our family member on numerous instances waited upwards of two to three hours after requesting assistance with restroom use. Several instances when we were told assistive equipment was either not available or no functioning. Most staff were inattentive in timely fashion and arguably deviated from standard of care. Lastly, due to countless instances of failure to properly monitor and address the development of infections along her back and buttocks. Come to find out the likely culprit was negligent changing of adult diapers. To say the least, exercise due diligence in selecting a care center and in this instance a lack of care center. Could never in good conscience recommend a facility that failed along so many lines. Moved family member to Tabor Hills, Naperville where care is markedly better during the 1 week of care. If you care about your family member go elsewhere and stay away from Alden.

The administrative staff was professional, responsive, and compassionate, making a difficult time much easier to navigate. The nursing team treated my father with dignity, kindness, and genuine concern, while the PT/OT staff were knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in his progress. The social worker was invaluable--guiding our family through care planning and next steps with clarity and empathy. The facility was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well organized, and communication with our family was excellent throughout. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed. The overall atmosphere often felt depressing and unwelcoming. Getting answers from nursing staff was often frustrating, as it sometimes seemed like they did not want to be bothered or responded with an attitude. I also found some staff members to be be unfriendly and lacking in empathy. Families rely on clear communication and compassion when a loved one is in rehab, and we did not consistently experience that level of care. The physical therapy dept. was a bright spot in my mother's day, but this was after switching the physical therapist from Steve to Desiree. Desiree stood out for her compassion, kindness, and genuine concern for her patients. She treated my mother with dignity and encouragement and made a meaningful difference in her rehab experience. I am very grateful for the care and dedication she showed. I recognize that rehab facilities can be busy and understaffed, but I believe there is significant room for improvement in communication (a simple good morning when you see a family member), responsiveness, and patient-family interactions. It's not tiny/ cluttered. Just the right size. My son gets his OT & ST here, and both services are 1 hour long. Other clinics say they'll give you an hour and bill for it too, but really they only give you 45 mins of treatment time. Westside gives you a full hour of treatment time! Very honest people, and their employees look happy. In the world of providing service, this is very important to me because it shows teamwork and integrity. Happy employees= happy customers. This company is closed on weekends, their staff is not over-worked, there are departments designated for billing, scheduling, etc, leaving only one person to communicate with at the front desk for day to day pick up and drop off etc., messages don't get lost in translation. We love our therapist, and love the great location for south Naperville/ Plainfield.
