I've had active jobs and hobbies most of my years and never had back issues- until recently…read more Refinishing a teak bench almost finished me! The pain was so intense, immobilizing, plus normal OTC pain killers did very little, and there was no position that offered relief. In the past after "over doing" it a little rest I was good to go. After four days of taking it easy it was worse. On recommendation of someone with more chronic back pain I called Center for Musculoskeletal Care and was able to get a appointment to be evaluated by Dr Pys. The evaluation was thorough and used non-invasive technology to get a precise map of issues with my back/spine. The technology also clearly tracks the efficacy of the treatment(s). The practice is a wife / husband team who are as friendly as they are professional. They immediately began a treatment plan (with some homework) to target my issues. I felt some relief on the first visit but with each successive visit (and being "somewhat" diligent with my homework ) I was back to normal very quick. I plan to schedule more sporadic appointments for preventative maintenance as this makes sense to me to track condition and tune-up as needed. Hopefully this keeps my back pain behind me as it were! They requested that I come in 2x a week for my treatment plan which was not feasible for my schedule. Each time I went in for a visit (we eventually agreed on 1x a week) I would be berated about how I was not coming in for appointments often enough and that they could lose their good standing with insurance. This occurred every single time I visited and it got to the point where I asked if this was how they treated all of their patients because I do not believe they could be in business if so. I am 30 years old and on my most recent (and last visit) I was essentially yelled at and told that I am no longer welcome unless I schedule twice a week. I was told to not take it "personally" and opted to walk out of the office as I was being yelled at because there's zero reason I should be subjected to this type of behavior as their client. They are unprofessional, rude, and not flexible.

He's very smart, a great listener, extremely empathic and applied what he learns to routines he designs for home use. You'll have a great experience with this terrific organization, see if you can score Daniel to work with you, you'll absolutely be pleased. Caroline and husband John run the place and Caroline spent time with me designing a schedule that meets Aetna's requirements and provides me with the best PT with Daniel. I highly recommend North shore, conveniently located on 1st Street with street parking and directly across from City parking. The facility is comfortable and clean, and everyone I've met has been fantastic! If I made Daniel sound too good to be true, it might be because he's absolutely one of the best around I'm sure.

Vanya was my primary therapist, and her care was both thoughtful and consistent. I started seeing him when he wasn't in my insurance network (also not one to like overpaying), because I was in such severe pain from a gym injury, and the endless sessions I have with another chiropractor were not getting me any relief. I'm a strong believer that energy transcends through touch , and he is a natural healer. Yes he is a doctor, he knows the human anatomy , he has the latest techniques , he has a lovely office .... but what's much harder to find in a healthcare provider is a genuine desire to maKe people feel better. He is so attentive. He will try 85 ways to make you feel better , and if it doesn't work he will try the 86th with no loss of enthusiasm. His true greatness is in his humble demeanor. Some chiropractors will act like it's beneath them to massage their patients , but Sunil's ego comes second to doing whatever will help the patient. Lastly , I feel completely at ease with our casual relationship. Sometimes I feel amazing , and stop coming for periods of time. He never stalks me into filling his books. In short - he is amazing. This was my first experience with physical therapy of any kind. My intake was performed at ATI's…read moreNiles location, and all subsequent sessions were in Skokie. The good: - Professional, competent and thoughtful physical therapists; - Friendly and responsive management, both at this facility, and at Niles and their Bolingbrook corporate office; - Clean, well-appointed facilities. The not-so-good: - During my time at this facility I was treated by four different PTs. It wasn't until several weeks into my therapy that one PT identified themselves as my "primary," and from then on was consistently available to me. Prior to that the communication between my PTs was limited, even dysfunctional, with each PT assigning me their own at-home exercises seemingly unaware of, or misinformed regarding the exercises I was already performing. This was dispiriting, especially when I'd accrued over a dozen exercises I thought I was obliged to work through daily. - A personalized web portal called MedBridge was presented to me as a resource for my at-home exercises and progress. I liked MedBridge, I liked having my exercises available online, but I soon realized that not all of my PTs used it, and those that did appeared not know how to use it properly. In the end, MedBridge became frustratingly unreliable and I stayed with my paper printouts instead. - It wasn't unusual for my PTs to be attending to another client at the same time as me. Given what ATI was billing my insurance provider, consistent one-on-one would have been appreciated--and expected. (One PT confided that ATI was having trouble hiring PTs and that most of the PTs currently at the facility were independents.) - During my intake, the facility manager wanted to charge me a $10 fee payable immediately. I advised him that my insurance card says, "Please do not collect $ at time of service," but I was told the $10 fee was not a co-pay, rather it was "co-insurance." I subsequently learned that the fee was really a pre-pay that applied against the total bill. At their request I gave them my credit card so they could auto-debit $10 for each session. Problem was that after several weeks the debits mysteriously stopped, and ATI Skokie told me they had no record of my credit card despite my having provided it several weeks earlier. I gave them my credit card again, and several weeks later they "lost" it again. Thereafter I refused to provide my card, telling them to instead call ATI corporate and work it out with them. To ATI's credit, they never bothered me about the pre-pays again. - This last thing was explained to me by ATI corporate as a marketing error: after about six sessions I received an email from ATI congratulating me on my "great progress" and proclaiming that I was, "close to reaching my goal!" Neither was true. Again, ATI owned it as a mistake, but dispiriting nonetheless.
