I live in an HOA where street parking is not allowed overnight. We had guests visiting & made the mistake of not moving one of the cars into the driveway. That's on us. These people are a bunch of crooks. First of all I had my car towed from Kay's landing by them , because I left my car in the street. First time visiting this development at around 630 am . When the hours in the development are from 12 midnight to 600 am after finding out from reading one of the signs in the development . Never a knock on the door or a sign stating that they towed my car and they charged my $125 cash only and if I wasn't there in two hours to pick up the car it would be $50 more . This is a terrible way to run a business and is unacceptable and underhanded, stay far away from them as you can and use an honest towing company! I posted one Star because there was no choice. Horrible service. They came out to tow my sons car to the shop, and refused to tow the car because a tire was flat. The driver refused to wait 5 min for him to change the tire, he just left. Great customer service!! read more

I was out of town and broke down in Lake Mary. My insurance called it in, and I received another tow company stating that they could not tow me home (Brooksville) because it was out of their range. Moving on, the next company that the insurance company contacted was Athens; not only did they tow me home, but they also provided a ride for myself, my service dog, and my mother's miniature poodle that Im looking after. Gio, the driver, is a professional and provides quality service. He was well-versed in how to take care of my Escalade ESV. He is an absolute great employee, and if this is the quality they hire, you should not be worried. read more

Worse company ever. Nicholas completely unhelpful and really mean person. My teenage son used this company thru our insurance company State Farm on May 2, 2022 due to a tire issue. On May 6, 2022, my son was t-boned and since was not his fault, he contacted this company again and paid out of pocket (his own credit card). This company double billed this credit card on May 9 and on May 10 (He just check the credit card statement today - learned lesson, check your accounts statement once a month, at least). Since he is a 19 year old college student ( I mean, just learning how to make a claim or be mindful that a receipt is needed in most cases when dealing with merchants), I decided to contact the town company for a receipt. Nicholas answered the phone, I wasn't even finished explaining the issue when I was put on hold and then disconnected. Called again, I was put on hold several times. Nicholas told that the only service was on May 2,2022 and could not provide the receipt (That is fine since we can get it from State Farm). He was brushed me off and wants to terminate the call. I insisted and he stated that he doesn't understand my accent (I speak more than one language and English is my third one, so I have an accent, actually a heavy one) but he understood before, well he was just not assisting me. I offered to put my son on the phone since he has not accent at all but Nicholas refused. Finally after much wait time for the many holds that I was put thru, Nicholas asked me for my email, I was confused because he didn't want to answer me if he found the receipt for May 6 or not (remember, he already told me the May 2 can't be provide to me since was billed to insurance company), he answered that he found it. I provided my email address and so far I have received not email or any receipt. They are so nice when answer the phone and you need a service but after that service is ZERO. read more

Towed my car at 3:00am, called over 50 times to see if they were the ones who took it, finally had to contact the sheriffs office and they confirmed it was there. One of the officers called me an hour later to warn me that they are terrible and it would take forever to get my car. They were right! I didn't get anyone to answer for 10 hours. We set a time to meet the guy and he wasn't there when we got there. This led to us waiting another hour in the yard for him. Cost us $325. read more

Words cannot explain how disturbing their business practices are. They make multiple trips daily throughout my community because they probably lovable the contract to our HOA.. first experience was being towed while attempting to view a home to purchase... then they attempted to tow my agents car a second time within 15 minutes of being parked... Then I had a neighbor parked in a designated parking spot whose tags expired that night... she was towed.. she already had the new tags just didn't put them on.. and still had to pay for the tow.. so now they are hunting our tags... its so disgusting. Someone is there 24/7 to answer the phone. They also provide real time tracking of their location providing you with a precise ETA. Disgusting company. Our neighborhood allows towing only if it has been approved by the HOA and the owner has been given notice. Our realtor came by the house today and was inside for no more than five minutes and they tried to tow her car illegally.The kid who is driving the tow truck began to berate me with horrible comments. Hopefully he gets over his small package problem and stops illegally roam towing. I reported him to our property management company and the Better Business Bureau for illegal activities. I'm sure no repercussions will come of this unfortunately. However, putting this place out of business still wouldn't be enough for these slimy employees. read more

We were in need of a towing service and they accepted our case and gave an estimated wait time. After taking twice the amount of time quoted, we called to follow up with them to check on their status and they cancelled our case without any notification. The guy on the phone was incredibly rude, not helpful nor apologetic, and did not try anything to fix their mistake. Not reliable, not friendly, worst customer service. Athens towing "Lost" the EXPENSIVE keys/fob to my truck. It was towed to the body shop and left with NO keys. But from the reviews I'm reading, maybe there were other plans to stealing my truck later . They never found and never compensated for the loss. read more

My neighbor used this towing service and they used my lawn to back up! When I contacted them they basically called me a liar ( I have it on video). The tow truck driver who apparently does not know how to drive and back up properly, decided to come up on my lawn over the side walk. Imagine how they treat your cars! We had an incident tonight with our insurance and roadside assistance. The original company no showed and Athens drove way out of the way to come and assist us. They arrived at the exact time quoted even calling twice to update us. The owner of the company called to personally check in and make sure the driver arrived on time. She apologized for the other companies failures and told us she just wanted to make sure we were safe. Tonight i had a driver watch as i was unloading my wheelchair from my car with the help of mother wait until she was able to assist me in the house and towed her car. In the matter of less then 2 minutes he hooked her car up and drove off as she was helping me in the house. My tire blew out on I-4 yesterday and Audi contracted this company to tow my vehicle to the dealership. This company arrived within 30 minutes, and the driver was so friendly and reassured me that everything would be okay. Our conversation on the ride to the dealership was awesome. This company does not know the definition of customer service or even trying to help someone out. I made a dumb mistake by parking in my neighbors parking spot unintentionally and I awoke the next morning to my car gone. I quickly caught an Uber to Athens towing in Sanford and the lady that was at the window didn't give two shits about my predicament. First, they only take cash. Like who pays for anything in cash anymore!!? I offered to Zelle or Venmo the money or even write a CHECK which I happened to have with me but NO. She was so rude too claiming "I don't care, I have a five year old son" when I told her I had no other resources. I ended up having to stand outside close to an hour while someone brought me cash and while all employees passed me multiple times, nobody offered any type of assistance. Started out kind on the phone. Ended up being extremely difficult and rude to deal with. The driver was personable and kind. Office staff was very rude. We broke down on vacation an hour away from where we were staying. They required me to drive all the way back (2 hours the second time) in the middle of my vacation to sign a release to my insurance company. This is the 21st century, scanning, faxing and emailing is acceptable in court but not at Athen's Towing. Then, after they spoke with the insurance, our vehicle was towed to our insurance company's lot. We were gone for a week and upon returning home we had a bill and certified letter waiting on us about the sell of our vehicle! The vehicle was only there a week and our company paid when they picked up the truck. When I called to inquire about the letter, concerned and confused, they told me they did not have time to assist me...records have already been filed. REALLY, it has only been a week!!!
