Today I had an appointment at Athens nails at 12:45 PM. I walked in the door at 12:40 PM. There was a guy working on one lady and a lady doing someone's feet, there was also a guy in the back. . He walks up and says I'll be with you in one moment. 20 minutes later, he still has not showed up from the back with no one back there. I asked if I needed to reschedule since I was on a lunch break and the owner states. Why do you need to do that? Again, I explain that I am on a lunch break and I needed this service done on my lunch break and plus I scheduled an appointment at 12:45. He calls the guy from the back, and I don't know the language, but chewing his food, I swear he said I'm on a lunch break, I honestly think the Athens nails is the most bullshit place. I know that some people love this place but unfortunately for me if I had to recommend some where to go get your nails, it definitely would not be them. They are one unprofessional to overpriced and three really aren't that good of nail techs, but I needed my nails done. The windows say Walk-ins welcome , but try it he will say you need to set an appt, or you wait long time, so even setting appt you wait along time. We need to stop giving these people our money for bullshit service and hold them accountable for their scheduling and time restrictions. They tell us that we need to schedule an appointment and which are their rules, but they are not following their own rules by being available at the scheduled times, but we wait and give them our money! I'm done with them because my money goes where my time is most appreciated, especially if I took the time to make an appt! I do not recommend!!! read more

I found this place a while ago just out of the blue. It's a small place, but the staff are ALWAYS courteous and the shop is always clean. But I have to give a shout out to Tina. She has been my nail tech every single time, and she always does a perfect job. I've never been injured, she's exceptional at listening to my requests, and she executes it flawlessly every time. Sadly I have to move in a few months and honestly for the first time ever I'm dreading finding another nail tech. My favorite nail salon in the country. read more

I received the best pedicure ever, from here. Tina listened to what I wanted, how I wanted my toe nails trimmed, how I needed a gentle touch due to some nerve pain in a leg, and she made sure I was comfortable in the chair. 4 stars instead of 5 because the front counter is dumpy, has extremely old products in it filed with dust.... enough of a turn off that I almost walked out. 5 Stars next time I'm there if the owner will put in the effort to clean it up. read more

I had the worst experience I have ever in years to save money. I decided today that I would treat myself right before Easter. I had been using a deep Burgundy color with a touch of sparkle on top. The woman who did my pedicure didn't get all the polish off and she just kept going. I asked her to get all the polish off please. She complained and said it was my toes, you have black on your nails. I said yes, its the polish I was using. She insisted it was a black fungus. I told her it was not, to please use the polish remover and that it is hard to get off the double layers of old polish. She refused and started putting on the first layer of clear before the polish. Again, I spoke up and said I will not let you polish my toes until you get all the polish off. She started saying something to the man of course in her language and it was not friendly. The foot massage was none existent, 15 sec. tops. She rubbed in the same place on my shin for minutes, if she had rubbed that hard to get the polish off it would have gone better. I also asked her to make a nail for my toe that I had lost the nail from when my horse stepped on it and tore the nail off. She started to make it and said something rude. She talked on the phone for most of my time and they kept the front door open which all you could here was bad and loud traffic. I went their to relax. I finally told her I was done and she did not need to finish or give me a manicure. She didn't finish and still wanted to charge me for the worst pedicure I have ever had. I am never rude to service people and will tolerate a lot but this was over the top. Needless to say I won't be going back. read more

Located at 203 E. Tyler St. Athens, Texas is an awesome nail salon. My daughter and I went in to have full sets of acrylics applied and our toes buffed and painted. We were charged $28 each, which was very affordable for us. We had previously tried Star nails a few miles away and were looking for a place that truly took pride in their work. This was the place. After a month since our visit we only need fill ins. The nails are strong and hold up to everything we have put them through. I am a writer and am on the computer keyboard for hours a day. She is a waitress and deals with hot soapy water and cleaning chemicals daily. We neither one have experience breakage, splitting or any other problems. We are both very happy with our nails and the service Athens Nails provided us. Athens nails also have leg and feet massages which my daughter swears by. They also do air brushing with some awesome designs. Since our one month product and service grading period is over we will be going back and have no need to try anywhere else. One thing that I did like on our first visit was a client who was also there getting her nails done told us she had been coming to Athens nails for over a year and she wouldn't let anyone else touch her nails but these guys. In my opinion that was the best recommendation they could get. read more
