We just had the best meal since coming to France at Le Jardin d'Amalula (The Garden of Amalula)…read more When we asked the owner what Amalula means, she said it is a contraction of the first names of her daughters: Amandine, Lucile, and Laurine. Laurine is the chef. The outside of the restaurant is inconspicuous; in fact, we walked right past it. But you walk down a corridor, through a small courtyard, and then into the small restaurant. But it's the garden out back that is beautiful. That's where we sat. My wife had Le Provençale, a tartine (toast) with bush cheese, red fruits jam, dried figs, dried tomatoes, and parma ham (like prosciutto). Delicious! I chose the plat du jour based on the owner's recommendation. Not sure what it's called but it was a tartine with tuna tartare & passion fruit, chutney with mango, pineapple, & red pepper, slices of avocado, and orange zest with pink berries. I don't know how they do it. Amazing flavor combinations. Glad we found this place with plenty of time to go back another time or two. Highly recommend!

They had a menu translated in english as well to remove any question on what you are ordering. We sat outside and on the Terrance and really enjoyed both. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

The location is nice, located on a quieter street--it definitely has a quaint atmosphere. The outdoor seats are perfect for relaxing and people watching, which I did with my generous glass of champagne, la piscine ($11). They served the champagne over ice (different from what I'm used to in the states), but it was very refreshing on a hot summer evening. The place filled up quick so do make a reservation if you'd like to dine here... several groups/couples were turned away. I ordered the Nicoise salad (sans anchovies) since I needed some protein (minus meat) but it was a little disappointing/underwhelming. The portion was on the smaller end of the spectrum and the salad contained less than what I'm used to... I had a delicious Nicoise salad in Nice a handful of years back. This version contained mixed greens (which could have been fresher), vine tomato, sliced red onion, hard boiled egg, and a couple spoonfuls of canned tuna. I remembered that the french like to overcook their hardboiled eggs, why? The salad definitely had potential if it were a little fresher and more satisfying. However, it was only $13 so nothing crazy considering it is Saint Tropez. My sister ordered pasta in a tomato sauce which was also just okay. Service was decent, we were served pretty quickly for European standards. But I wouldn't have minded either way. I would recommend coming here and ordering some champagne to sip, if they allow. Perhaps the meat dishes are tastier--there are better dining options for plant-based folks.

Had lunch here with my family recently…read more Sunny day. We sat on the patio. Food was fantastic - every dish from salads through to dessert. We had 3 different pastas and a whole grilled fish. We had sauteed prawns for an appetizer - visually stunning and beautifully cooked For dessert we had chocolate mousse and vanilla gelato with a fresh raspberry sauce that was to die for. Service was tremendous - friendly, helpful, fast, good sense of humor. This was a perfect lunch.
