I have been going to her for over 10 years and the level of respect I have for her is unmatched. She not only is an amazing human being, but she is an amazing artist herself who teaches you the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and beyond. She was detailed with her directions and also demonstrated the steps well before having us jump in. She also told us reasonings behind what we were doing to make us understand the process. I had some questions regarding masks - my daughter is disabled and hard of hearing, she cannot wear one and neither can I as she partially reads lips to communicate with people. Needless to say these past years have been VERY difficult for us. Luckily Maital understood not only to our situation, but to laws and freedoms. She had no problem with us enjoying her space and being creative without masks. As we spoke I began to see that she stood for freedom and kindness. She said - If you want to or have to wear one, you're welcome in my business, If you don't want to or cannot wear one, you're welcome in my business. Despite the class being very small (only five students), the instructor completely ignored me the entire session, while giving multiple rounds of feedback to other students--including one sitting directly in front of me. I even walked to the location with the instructor, so there's no way this was just an oversight. I paid for this class expecting at least some level of instruction, but I left feeling like my presence didn't matter. If I wanted to paint outside alone with zero feedback, I could have done so for free.
