They do a great job of letting kids express themselves, and at the same time teaching them about different artists and techniques. We had her birthday party there this year and it was AMAZING. The kids had a ton of fun and created beautiful individual paintings and a group painting. I highly recommend it. The staff were so helpful and made the experience fun for everyone. Many of the parents and kids said how much they enjoyed it. We ordered food Frida's Tacos in the mall and the food was delicious. You can order from any restaurant you choose which is another plus. I can say enough great things about them. :) Aloka 4/6/18 update It's now been two more years and our daughter and son have been going to kids artistic sense. They had so much fun doing camp over spring break. I posted the most recent picture. It's such a flexible option for breaks as you can do the days that work with your scheuxls

So when it came time to enroll in summer camps, I searched through the multitude of art camps, almost ignoring Kids Artistic Sense because it is housed in the near-barren Westside Pavillion. I am so glad that I decided instead to go check it out in person. Such a pleasant surprise. A most beautiful (and clean!) facility focused on real art (not piles of papers & craft projects that you don't know what to do with). Other activities like Legos, clay/kinetic sand, even an area for ball play so kids can shake their wiggles out! The most warm & encouraging staff, led by Miss Sandra who truly knew my son after his first visit. We started with a one-day trial on Memorial Day & ended up signing up for 3 weeks of summer camp. (2 of which are already sadly done). My son cannot wait to go back in July for his 3rd week & we are trying to rearrange our schedule to add another week. It is that special! Check out the paintings he is most proud of! And go check it out for yourself :)

Aziza is not only an exceptional artist, but also an excellent painting teacher, capable of guiding with sensitivity, a deep love for art, and true dedication. The treatment was impeccable, and the final painting turned out magnificent--deep and very special--a piece that conveys emotion and care in every detail. Without a doubt, an experience I highly recommend. Thank you, Aziza, for creating art from the heart and for making this day unforgettable

As soon as I walked in, I felt the vibrant energy and beautiful art inviting me in. Unique to the AzziArt Gallery, they just started doing an 'art cafe' called 'Food for the Soul.' You get an art menu to choose from, whether you want to paint in watercolor or acrylic. Even better, along with your art materials, you get a complimentary cup of coffee or tea! The gallery is a powerhouse of creation, offering art classes, face painting, art therapy, and studio space. In addition, they have other beautiful community events like, art shows, book signings, etc. Whether you're looking to create art or envelop yourself in the world of art, AzziArt Gallery is truly one of a kind place!

The instructor, Yuli, is so patient and knowledgeable. She spends time on building fundamental skills and building confidence working with clay. The weekday beginner classes I've taken have been such a fun and productive way to wind down after a long day at work. Each class is 2 hours long, but after the first session, you can arrive an hour early to practice and throw additional pieces. Yuli walks through every step of the process and offers guidance along the way. I'm so proud of the stoneware I've made in her classes, and have signed up for my third class at Echo next month!

Had taken ceramics in college for a whole semester but really could not remember a single thing...so was super excited for this. We got Joy as our teacher for a single session of no frills, basic pottery class and she was great. She was patient and pretty friendly to all of us beginners. Class was super organized. You grab your aprons, your wheel, your slab of clay and watch her demo. You go step by step because some steps will cause you to "lose it all" lol. She explained that their typical classes would allow you to see your clay through from a blob all the way to the firing process which takes several sessions of classes (gotta wait for things to dry etc). There is also a little board with all the firing colors and oxidization/reduction differences which is cool to see it nearly organized. I remember in school there were just huge vats of color hanging around for us to visualize. Afterwards we all helped clean up and labeled our pottery. Entire session was about 2-3 hours. Our bowls will likely be finished in a month after they dip them and fire them up for us. Would totally come back for more classes if they weren't so far... We also had some snacks and drinks some people had brought along but typically I don't think there would be much eating involved...hands are dirty. Theres also a parking lot so parking is handled.

They offer classes for young and old, with the option for drop-in, 4-week or full 8-week package signup. We attended their Open House that happened to be the next day and enjoyed meeting the staff as well as try out some activities such as coaster painting (ceramics) and creating a vision board. I've been taking the handbuilding pottery class (as opposed to the wheel throwing class which they also offer). The handbuilding classes are taught by an incredible artist named Rob Homsy who is a patient and fun instructor. There is an assortment of people in his classes - all ages and an array of skills. Some of us are total beginners and others could sell their pottery because it's so great. What I especially love about this class is that Rob doesn't do the thing where "this week we're making wind chimes" and that's what the entire class must do. He definitely teaches us all of the basics and suggests what we may want to build, but he also genuinely supports whoever wants to make a giant cup, or an elephant for a gift, or a planter, or whatever one really has their mind set on. I will never be a great potter but I'm having such fun in the classes and working with many nice people. Classes are on a monthly schedule but you can enroll at any point. I take the Tuesday class from 1 PM - 4 PM but they also have an evening class. The phone number is (310) 451-5657 and the link is https://www.brentwoodart.org
