Our waiter came over with menus and was very helpful with a few questions that we had. We ordered a Molcagete, which is a lot of food and can definitely be shared with 2-3 people. We also ordered a camarones costa azul plate. Everything was so delicious, but the molcagete was my favorite. Another great thing about this restaurant is that they hand-make their tortillas right there. I loved the warm, hand-made tortillas. I also had a spicy margarita, which was amazing. The restaurant had so much space, a bar area, and can definitely be a great place for large parties. I loved El Pescador, and I can't wait to go back and maybe try their lunch specials.

There's always a crowd so you know it's always popular. The vibes are always on point. I love how they added the huge space covered outside of the original restaurant. On this most recent day there was a table of 50 people being served without issue. We made sure to get our order in before they did so we didn't get stuck. Our food came out fast and it came out perfect. We started with chips and salsa. Ordered guacamole and the bean dip. All delicious. We were waiting for the rest of our party to show so we ordered a recommendation sampler plate which was very tasty. The chimichurris on it were perfect. I had the Mojarra Frita that is a fun fantastic fried dish for the occasion. I fancy the mango margaritas blended. Always get the giant. Just be careful when they ask you if you want a second. And if chewy is there, he'll give you a shot of their homemade tequila.

There was not a single issue or hiccup, and that kind of execution is no small feat. The team was incredibly helpful, the food was truly impeccable, and the staff were so kind and attentive throughout the entire event. We received endless compliments from our guests, the catering was genuinely one of the highlights of the night. KB, the catering manager, was on another level! She took such amazing care of us as a couple, constantly checking in, bringing us food, and making sure we had everything we needed at all times. We never once had to look for her, she was always right there, anticipating everything before we even had to ask. She was like a hawk in the best possible way, completely on top of every detail while still being warm and calm. Because of her, we were able to fully relax and enjoy our wedding! A true gem! They went above and beyond, and it showed in every detail. We are so grateful and will be talking about them for a long time!

My friend Kelly M. did the hard work of booking, but I was part of the host crew and thought this dinner was quite successful. We ordered a buffet for 30 adults and 35 children, which ended up feeding 41 adults and 39 children, with leftovers to spare. The total cost, including tip, was a little over $2,900. Not cheap or anything, but definitely worth it for the food and service. DJ's came and set everything up, and there was a guy on site to handle everything for a period of like five hours. I didn't get his name, but he was nice, even helping me open a can I needed desperately to open, without the use of a can opener. The service came with sugarcane plates, forks, knives, and paper napkins, and a luau-themed table covering to put under the buffet. All things we didn't have to think about. We grilled the other night of camp and this was more cost effective, but proportionately more laborious. The food was good and covered a lot of bases, so everyone had something to eat. There were dinner rolls with one thousand pats of butter, many of which I now have in my fridge, and a giant catering tray of three cheese macaroni and cheese. My children were covered with these two offerings, as were, I suspect, many others. We got two meat entrées, which were both very satisfying: traditional Hawaiian kalua pork and grilled teriyaki chicken breast with grilled Maui pineapple. An island garden salad made for a nice side, with mandarin oranges, toasted almonds, crispy wonton strips, and ginger soy vinaigrette. Kind of like Chinese chicken salad without the chicken, and therefore well matched to the chicken teriyaki. There was steamed jasmine rice too, and a tropical fruit salad. Everyone had a great time at the family luau, even if most of the kids were too excited to sit down and eat proper dinner. DJ's California Catering took care of everything (well, except childcare) so we parents could just sit back and enjoy.

I love the idea of the Korean-Mexican fusion because it's like the best of both worlds. The food was delicious. My only gripe was that my pork belly and short ribs were slightly dry. When I heard that we were going to have a kogi truck at our event, I was excited to try something new. Alas, they only had 2 choices: meat tacos or tofu tacos. Regardless, the tacos were delicious!

The tritip on the outside grill smelled amazing that I knew I had to try it. I got the lunch special sandwich which is a choice of turkey, tritip or grilled chicken. I got the tritip sandwich with fries for $11.99. It's seriously one of the cheaper lunch plates I had seen in many moons. Our server was on top of it and got our orders and drinks straight. The food took about 15-20 minutes for all of us to be served. The waitress constantly checked in with us to see how everything was. The fries are thick cut which are one of my favorites. The tritip was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor. Definitely a good choice. This is also a bar and seemed to be a pretty popular spot for locals. I would come back.

My wife and I were driving through Ventura County during a storm and decided to stop for lunch. On our way home, we came across Central Station--a Sports Bar and Grill--and honestly, what more could you ask for on a rainy day? The place opens at 11 a.m., and when we arrived, we were welcomed into a restaurant with outdoor seating, a decent-sized dining area, and a full bar. There were several TVs throughout, making it a great spot to watch sports while enjoying food and drinks. Once seated, our host Monique provided exceptional service. She got us seated right away, took our drink order promptly, and gave us plenty of time to review their massive menu--which, by the way, made it very hard to choose. From breakfast burritos and salads to tri-tip sandwiches, wings, pizza, sampler platters, grilled chicken, and more, everything sounded delicious. Before ordering food, we checked out the drink options. They offer plenty of domestic and imported beers, both bottled and on draft. I'm a simple guy, so I went with my favorite Miller Lite, which was ice-cold and refreshing. My wife ordered a Bloody Mary and said it was very good--so good I wish I had taken a photo of it. We decided on the sampler platter since it had a variety of finger foods we love: buffalo wings, chicken strips, potato skins, BBQ pork ribs, and flautas. While waiting, I couldn't resist adding a side of my favorite--steak fries. When the food arrived, I was amazed at how much we received for such a reasonable price. Everything on the platter was hot, flavorful, and satisfying. The wings were spicy, the pork tips were sweet and tender, and overall the platter was excellent. The only small downside was that the chicken strips weren't as hot as the rest and were slightly dry, but dipping them in buffalo sauce made up for it. The steak fries were massive--I couldn't even finish them. They were fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned (with a little help from me). The buffalo sauce paired amazingly with the fries. Overall, this was a great experience trying a new lunch spot in Ventura County. Affordable prices, great-tasting food and drinks, friendly service, and a beautiful city to enjoy while passing through Highway 126. I highly recommend Central Station to anyone looking for good food, drinks, or a relaxed place to unwind.
