Everything I said is 100% true and I have messages from them that prove it. Also, their response claims that they have no record of the theft incident, but my pictures include their written response to the incident, and a picture of the thief (allentuck employee,) so they are either lying or totally incompetent. I have also been by their business on Travillah multiple times because I have a property on the very next street in Mount Prospect. It is also 100% true that their employee Maria tried to sell us her son's landscaping company to do our backyard. We are an international family and speak Spanish so this is not a case of language barrier. I am no longer even interested in being compensated for the stolen item, I only hope my neighbors don't fall victim to this company. I honestly can't believe they are dragging their name through the mud because they were too cheap pay for the theft (under $100.) There are also 2 witnesses of the theft, and video. It was one of those situations where we had the lights off inside and there were lights outside so the thief apparently couldn't see us standing in the window directly in front them. We even waited to see if they would get a conscience and return the item because we previously had a good relationship with the employees who share our heritage. I honestly hope legal action is perused so this can gain more publicity. What the employee didn't a crime, and the company response is unacceptable and makes them an accomplice.

I was skeptical, because it was very clear to me that in his mind, the review was the problem (as opposed to my overall customer experience), but I eventually agreed. With John overseeing the project, my yard now reflects what my original expectations were. He manicured the bushes in my back yard beautifully - quickly, accurately, and non-invasively. I was floored at how expertly the work was done and how efficiently everything went. The communication level was good, and he was pleasant throughout the work. He showed up with his team the morning the work was scheduled, and explained to me that the sod could not be cut and installed until the day after (due to heavy rains), and would it be okay to come by and install it tomorrow? Thank you for the notice, and yes, certainly! :) In my front yard, which is patchy due to water damage, they installed the sod, and the yard looks really good now. We discussed…read morecreating a swale to divert a large flow of water during heavy rainstorms away from my foundation out to a lower elevation in my yard. On the day of the job, the workers found tree roots that blocked them from digging out the swale. No one spoke to me about this. So instead of a swale, they dumped a lot of river rocks and made it look like a swale was there. I got suspicious and cleared away the rocks and found that at most they had cleared away the dead leaves. I contacted Carter Hughes about this and he said, Ya because of the roots we could only do what we could do. I asked Carter to look at it with me, but I never saw him again. So I contacted a tree company to have the tree taken down and remove the tree and take out the roots. Then I contacted Carter again and asked that once I had the tree out, he should send someone to complete the swale work. After a while going around and around with him on the phone, I realized he had no intention of completing the work, and it was useless asking. I don't believe that just putting the rock down to look like a swale and then never mentioning to me about the problem with the roots was at all an open way to do business.

This company brought a processing truck that appears to have violated the law as it processed the leaves and balls in residential areas. First and foremost, it created so much dust that you could not see through the dust cloud to the other side. But also, the workers did not bother to check to see if neighbors' windows were open before starting, and mine were. This truck was sitting about 10 feet from my open windows, producing an amount of air pollution that was in no way legally acceptable for a residential neighborhood, and a huge dust cloud from the organic matter that they were processing blew into my house, all over my belongings, on my cats, and my cats started sneezing and running around frantically. I literally had to do two days of emergency cleaning after they left (including hiring house cleaners). And that was just the inside of the house. Thank goodness I was home to get the cats to safety. It was so stressful. When I went outside to tell them to control their dust, the workers offered to clean my car for me, as if that would make it all better, which was just bizarre, and the least of my concerns in that moment. I had dust in my hair, in my mouth, all over my clothes, and in my ears and eyes, plus it was also all over the house and all over my belongings around the house. Further, the I'm certain that the noise exceeded the legal residential noise limit. Also, the workers trespassed all over my property , including my front porch, and left piles of leaves all over my plants, which would have likely killed them if not removed. I have pictures and video to prove all of this. I thought of calling the company and demanding that they come back to make everything right, but I really don't want a company that is this oblivious and careless anywhere near my house ever again, plus what they did was too problematic to imagine that they could realistically make amends. It was truly horrific. If this review is removed for any reason I will follow up with a BBB complaint and a formal complaint with the county. On a side note, what this company is doing at large is extremely environmentally damaging to Monarchs and other endangered species. If you don't know about leaf removal, google it.

On Saturday he said he was on my way to my house but alas, he didn't show until 4 hours later. I asked him for a time to expect him but he never let me know. I have a contract with them but he is very unresponsive and my yard looked terrible as we were over 2 weeks without a cut at the end of May and early June. I thought the issues that I had when I initially contracted with him to mulch and seed my yard in the spring were an anomaly but they appear instead to be part of a pattern. After first contacting him to do Spring bed clean-up and mulching, I waited 3 plus weeks and they never showed even though he stated they would mulch within the week after receiving the contract. When I finally was able to reach him, I had to insist that they do the work as they wanted to wait another 2 weeks which would have put us into late May for mulching and seeding and over 5 weeks from the initial request for service. (Then he never cleaned up/trimmed the plants in the side gardens. ) The delays, unresponsiveness, and lack of communication and the fact that he clearly misled, if not outright lied, to me about being on his way are indicative of the poor customer service and an unreliable business. We had a big Chestnut oak tree in our back yard that had started dying last year. It had really…read morewide, spreading branches and a thick trunk. It was also located at the top of a bank that leads down to a creek, so the location was tricky. We obtained four estimates before starting our project. Caliber exceeded the other tree companies in every way. Their proposal was professional, specific, and detailed, and they provided information about their licensing and insurance. Both Tim and Julian were very responsive to questions. We had some limitations about where they could go on the property with the heavy equipment, because of the location of our septic field. They put down mats and did their best to minimize the impact of their work on the yard. They used two crews so there were eight men working at once, but they coordinated their efforts so well, and every person was friendly and helpful. They chipped branches and hauled away all the huge trunk sections. I would recommend them very highly for more complicated jobs.
