Although Wonderlin Roofing was not the least expensive, he felt they were the most credible. He also told me that the owner, Grover, would personally come out for a free inspection and discuss any repairs that might be needed. I trusted my neighbor's referral, so I gave Wonderlin Roofing a call. Grover came out within the week. He was very professional and personable, conducted a thorough roof inspection, and afterward took the time to go over his findings with me. He also showed me photos of what he had found. When I received the estimate, I appreciated that it was broken down into repairs that were necessary, repairs that should be completed within a reasonable amount of time, and repairs that could be addressed in the near future. I called to discuss the recommendations, and ultimately decided to have all of the work completed. This is where the scheduling process became a little challenging. There was some miscommunication on both parts, including missed emails and some confusion about scheduling, which became frustrating at times. We did establish dates, although I also had to cancel once because of unforeseen circumstances. One thing I wish had been communicated more clearly was that when a work date is scheduled, there can be uncertainty about whether the crew will be able to complete everything that day. I completely understand that with roofing, you don't always know what you will find once the work begins. The challenge was coordinating my availability with Wonderlin Roofing's availability to return the following day if additional work was needed. It became difficult to keep additional days open and make sure I was available when the crew was able to return. Once we finally locked in a date and the crew arrived, everything went very smoothly. The crew was professional, personable, and respectful of my property. They were also very considerate of the neighbors--they weren't talking loudly or yelling back and forth to each other, and there was no loud music or unnecessary noise. They did an excellent job cleaning up and kept me informed throughout the day as the work progressed. I was even shown the areas of the roof that were removed and needed to be repaired or replaced, and they sent me pictures of the completed repairs. This allowed me to compare the finished work with the original inspection photos, which I really appreciated. There was also an issue with my gutter. After the initial consultation, I noticed that the gutter had been damaged where the ladder had been placed. I immediately notified the office, and they told me they would address it when the crew returned for the repairs. When the crew arrived, the crew lead saw the damage and immediately said that he would replace the gutter. I told him that I appreciated his willingness to replace the entire gutter, but asked if they could try to repair it first. I explained that if the repair looked good and resolved the issue, that would be perfectly acceptable to me. They were able to successfully repair the gutter without having to replace it. I was very appreciative that the crew lead was willing to replace the gutter without question, and I also appreciated that they were able to find a way to repair it instead. One thing to be aware of when planning for the work is that Wonderlin Roofing does not accept credit cards as a form of payment, so you'll want to make sure you're prepared with an acceptable form of payment when the job is completed. Overall, I would recommend Wonderlin Roofing. I was impressed with Grover's professionalism, the detailed inspection, the photographs, and the way the estimate clearly separated the repairs by priority. The crew that completed the work was excellent and treated my home with respect. My only recommendation would be to make communication after the initial inspection a little clearer, particularly regarding scheduling and the possibility that additional days may be needed to complete the work. To be fair, there was miscommunication on both sides, and once we discussed it and agreed on a better way to communicate, everything went smoothly. In the end, I am happy with the work that was done and appreciate the professionalism of the crew.
