For 15 years I have been a customer of AT&T, but this my friends will very quickly change. I've so far returned my new phone, deactivated my new phone line, and I will soon deactivate the other 3 lines my family currently uses. For after the unbelievable fiasco AT&T has put me through this past week after drastically overcharging my account, I will never allow anything like this to happen to myself or my family again!! By 'overcharge', what I mean is that I was quoted one price then charged a much higher price. I was QUOTED a price of $31 per month for my new phoneline minus an additional discount once I set up autopay. Not one other fee or charge was ever once mentioned! NOT ONE! NOT ONE SINGLE TAX, FEE, OR CHARGE; NOT ONE SINGLE BREATHE; NOT ONE SINGLE FRACTION OF ONE WORTHLESS CENT. The only charges EVER ONCE MENTIONED were $30/month for the plan plus a special price of $1/month for the phone.
But rather than the $31/month which I was quoted by the store agent, I instead came home to an online bill of $126.31 for the first month followed by $96 per month afterward!!! This is more than triple what we agreed to!! For the agent had assured me multiple times that he could match the $30/month plan I was paying on my damaged phone through AT&T prepaid. But after seeing that the bill turned out to be drastically higher then promised, I returned to the store requesting to either receive the price I was quoted or else to terminate the phone line and return the phone for a full refund. Now anyone knows I'm entitled this much, that you can not quote a person ONE PRICE, then charge them a MUCH HIGHER PRICE and tell them they have no choice but to pay it. Yet the manager of the store, nevertheless, made a full blown argument out of the situation!!! He tried his best to steamroll right over top of me without even giving me a chance to speak! He insisted that I was the one mistaken, that I was the one who misunderstood his store agent, and that I more or less needed to quiet down and accept whatever he was willing to give me. He didn't want me raising my voice, but had no problem raising his voice to me and cutting me off in conversation as often as he wished. So all I can say is that this man CLEARLY DID NOT CARE ONE BIT WHAT THE TRUTH OF THE SITUTION WAS!!!! For his mind was made up WITHIN SECONDS! Here he wasn't even at the store at the time I spoke to the sales agent, yet the manager thought HE was going to tell ME what had been spoken and agreed upon between us! And he thought he was going to do all of this without hearing a word I had to say!!!
But then to top things off, by the end of the conversation, the manager had THE NERVE to ask ME in these words "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!" And all I can say is WOW! UNBELIEVABLE!! Who the Hell do I think I am? What a very astonishing question -for I feel very much that I was the one who should have been asking HIM this very same question! But it's ok. Let me be the one to provide an answer. So WHO DO I THINK I AM? Well for one, I am a 15 year customer of AT&T, one who up until recently had 4 phone lines open through the AT&T company. I am one who over that time has paid AT&T about $1000 per year on average for a total of $15,000 revenue paid to their God-forsaken company! So with that said, this is WHO I AM!! I am one who deserves MUCH BETTER than then to be thoroughly disrespectful in the manner in which I was treated by the local store management! I am one who deserves much better then to be royally screwed by AT&T services. I am one who deserves much better then the miserable service that AT&T has provided me! I AM ONE WHO DESERVES MUCH BETTER THEN TO HAVE COUNTLESS HOURS OF MY LIFE WASTED TRYING TO WORK THROUGH CUSTOMER SERVICE TO GET A FAIR SETTLEMENT!!! I am one who at THE VERY LEAST deserves both a sincere apology from AT&T and a full refund of EVERY cent charged both to me and my account (126.23 for first months bill plus $55 restocking fee, for a total of $181.23). I am furthermore one who also deserves recognition for the MANY HOURS OF MY TIME that has been wasted. What compensation will I receive for all of this????????????? Then last of all, I am one who both demands and deserves JUSTICE, RESPECT, and FAIRNESS -the very same respect and fairness that I would show without question to any human being who every walked into a business that I might ever own.
With all of that said, here is your answer. THIS IS WHO I AM. But let me now turn the table and ask AT&T the very same question their store manager asked me. Tell me, AT&T, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
