Complaint Regarding Misleading Pricing and Billing Practices by AT&T I switched from Verizon to AT&T due to a change of address that left Verizon unable to provide internet service at my new home. I initially saw advertisements on Meta for AT&T Fiber at $47/month for new customers, but accepted what I believed to be a standard price of $90/month with a $10 discount for autopay, expecting a total of $80/month. * First AT&T internet bill: $80.25 -- as expected. * Second bill: $88.61 -- without explanation, showing a "credit reversed" even though my payment method remained unchanged. At installation, I was given a lengthy in-home sales pitch that strongly emphasized bundling wireless service with internet for savings. Based on that, I switched my 3 phone lines to AT&T as well and was quoted $98.38/month total for the wireless service. However: * My first wireless bill (for 1.5 months) came out to $324.24, with no clear breakdown justifying that cost. * Combined with the internet, I've now paid $412.85 in the first full cycle -- significantly higher than the $212.21 I was previously paying at Verizon (3 lines + home internet). This experience felt misleading and predatory: * Pricing did not match verbal or advertised promises. * Bill breakdowns were unclear and inconsistent. * Promotional rates appear to be misleading or manipulated post-signup. I am requesting: * A detailed explanation and itemized correction of the charges. * Retroactive application of the pricing I was quoted. * Clarification on any reversed credits and future billing expectations. My boyfriend and I went to this AT&T store a week ago to get iPads because my birthday was coming up and that was the only thing I want so we pick out the ones we want and the employee said that they don't have them in the store right now, but they can order them to the store to pick up the 15th well today is the 15th and now employee is saying that we can't get them because when we went the employee said for 2 iPad it be 150 he went today and the employee say it will cost 486$ for each for a down payment how the fuck does it go from 150 TO 486 $ like what the actual fuck i will never go back to that store and will no longer be continuing our phone plan with them I'm very piss off don't go to this AT&T they are a SCAM !!!!!!! read more

The service at this store has all the features, warmth, and efficiency of a crappy DMV. Best I can tell there's one person whose entire job is to ask what you need then proceed to walk around saying "someone will be right with you." Sam Kreps, AT&T sales manager, is an incredibly deceptive and dishonest representative of AT&T in the Indianapolis area. He told us he was from an Irvington, Indiana, store, so posting here. He came to our home as we were transferring our internet service over to AT&T. He promised us trade-in values for our phones that ended up being $400 off, totally bogus monthly charges, fake waved activation fees - all false. He said he was going to his car to complete our paperwork and would provide all the paperwork when done in about 30 minutes. Instead - he drove away with our cell phones providing no paperwork whatsoever. Total scam. We cancelled everything and went back to Verizon. Cost us some money, but we will NEVER trust AT&T for wireless service again. read more

I have been to this store twice. Every time it is poorly staffed. I am told things that are not totally accurate. Whether it be for my trade in or accurate weight times (in excess of an hour). I would not recommend this store to anyone. Do yourself a favor and find a store that knows what they're doing. read more

We waited a long time to pay off our cell phones. It's really a long process especially if you have combined billing. The young man Billy who was helping us was very nice and was doing all he could to help us. We talked about our disdain for Direct TV. He helped us to get switched to UVerse which we had before. Early disconnect from Direct is $80.00, but ATT gives us $100.00 to sign up for UVerse. .Back today 9/3/19. My phone was messed up. It's all good now. Very patient girl. read more

Great experience at the E. Washington St. AT&T today. The person that helped me was knowledgeable and gave great service. He did not wear a name tag, but he had on a blue "Equality" shirt. I came at the right time, so there was no waiting. The associate also gave me some tips on handling a bill that a different authorized retailer set up. Felt helped, and not talked down to. My husband and I went into the AT&T store today at 10105 Washington Street, and will never ever go back. My husband switched plans and went from a pre-paid account to an unlimited account with HBO for one year. He was given two IPhones, one for him and one for me (his wife). I thought we had a good plan. Well the AT&T rep who sold him the new package was at the Target store in Washington Square. The rep unfortunately was not there today. We worked with one of his colleagues who was very nice, but I don't think he was knowledgeable enough to perform the task of migrating phone numbers. This was simply cancelling a temporary number and migrating his old phone number which he wanted to keep. We were on the phone with AT&T for over an hour. To my dismay, we still didn't get this performed. So the rep on the phone told us to go across the street to the AT&T store and they could do the migration. So after being stuck in Target for about 2 hours, I'm pretty tired by now. But I just knew they could help me. After all, they were the same company. Guess what, they literally turned their noses up and nastily said, "We don't do that here. And my supervisor said you would have to send your phones back, get a refund and go from there. We don't know why they would sell you a bogus deal like that. It's no good". She then switched her little butt off from us like we had Covid-19 or something! Now you are telling us that because you have a rep that works in Target and was unable to get us connected that you couldn't at least try to help us or at least give us an 800 number so we could call? I found that to be absolutely appalling! The only reason they didn't help us, I feel, is because we didn't buy the phones and service plan from their store. Now you know, they could have helped us. We are both senior citizens and my husband is a co-Pastor of a church. The members don't have this new number and if there is an emergency, how will they be able to call him? I have had problems with this store in the past, but this was the straw that broke the ol' camels back! read more

Not a bad store constantly changing employees. Some unfortunately can be really rude and hateful which is the reason I don't go to this store anymore. Literally had an employee at the door tell me 'don't come to the store with apple product issues, take them to keystone' I was just shocked couldn't believe I was basically told not to come there. I have never had a place where I've bought my products tell me not to come there. Needless to say that was my last visit. It's not a horrible store it's clean and nice just the constant turnover of employees I think they are hiring anyone whether customer friendly or not. read more

We needed new phones for my parents and dreaded the visit! But Megan was a pleasant surprise. We still had to wait (there were 6 in front of us), but when Megan got to us she was very pleasant and knew what she was talking about. My Significant Other is full of lots of questions and corn ball responses but Megan was able to answer all questions and had a really good attitude. My bill is about $400 a month or better to pay off my 2 outdated iPhones and 2 Apple watches with 2 more payments left to own. The return policy absolutely sucks and is very terrible. Doesn't make sense to pay monthly for a phone at full retail without any depreciation over time. Xfinity is offering $140 monthly for new Samsung and new iPhone. $300 or less to start. Tried to talk to AT&T through chat and I'm basically stuck in a $1,600 bill. I'll tell you one thing; I'll NEVER have another AT&T product another day in my life. Once I can pay everything off I will be leaving your service and never coming back. So I sure hope no issues happen with my phones or service with insurance because I will be highly difficult. Worst experience I've ever had; can't even return my items under no circumstances and get out. You sure know how to suck money out of people. And once I pay off these 6s & 6s plus they'll be even more outdated which decreases the resale value; I'll then Video the products being smashed with a hammer and Mail corporate office the pieces and turn around and go to Xfinity. I'll be doing out of state runs through work and do tons of overtime to pay this crap off and get away. My complaint with this location is the unprofessional behavior and attitude of two store managers on duty. I arrived at the store upon opening (9am) on a Saturday. I was the second person to sign in. The store had one sales professional available to help customers. The store manager typed names into an ipad but did not actually assist any customers while I was in the store (1 hour and 15 minutes). The sales representative was finally available at 9:32 am. She had needed to assist one customer the entire half an hour. In that time, 6 other individuals entered the store, but the store manager still did not offer to assist any of the customers himself. He DID come around to tell us that he would have more individuals arriving at 9:30 or so to help us. After spending 45 minutes with a very helpful sales representative getting 2 phones upgraded I went to check out and 2 mobile card readers did not work, so I had to go to the register with the sales representative. By this time another store manager (identifed by blue shirts) was standing next to the register and talking to the other store manager. When the sales representative said the card readers were not working, one of the store managers replied "Well, they were working yesterday." He did not apologize for any inconvience to me, the customer standing right in front of him, nor indicate he would fix the situation for his staff. So I suggested that maybe he test the card readers "before" customers are actually in the store waiting to purchase product. He just stared at me, didn't offer an apology for the situation or anything. He seemed unable to respond to a customer. Not wanting to just offer a negative comment, I mentioned to him that I had terrific service with his sales representative. Again, he just stared and so did the other manager. Neither manager thanked their store sales rep for providing good service nor did he acknowledge I had just given his staff a compliment for 45 minutes of service. My son who was with me commented that both managers seemed unable to respond to a customer and they both looked down at the ground the entire time. I finally had to ask the sales representative if the individuals in the blue shirts were managers, since neither identifed himself to me when I was obviously unhappy with the lack of responses from either individual. When I said there seemed to be a few glitches in the staffing process upon opening, the store manager responded (his only statement to me, by the way) "Thanks for the feedback." It was the first time he had looked up the entire time I was paying for my purchases. I am filing a complaint with corporate offices as well as this location is identified as a Company Owned Retail location. The company has hired store managers who are apparently unable to assist or speak with customers. I would recommend shopping another store location until new managers are found. read more
