I'm very pleased with my experience at Astro Cleaners. My clothes always come out looking and smelling great. Their hours work for me specially since I used to go to another cleaners in Baldwin and was always in a hurry to make it there on time in the mornings (they would not take "same-day" orders after 9am) and though the quality of the service there was good, the staff was mediocre at best. Kenny, the owner, is amazing and always greets you with a smile and remembers your name. So, great quality work, friendly service, close to home and no need to feel like I'm sprinting just to get my cleaners in on time means I found my new favorite dry cleaners. read more

The proprietors of this shop are great. They know the customers by name, they have quick service, the cleaning is done well ... and if you are in a jam and need super quick turnaround, they are willing to accomodate, if at all possible. They were so friendly (they carried my stuff to the car). They go out of their way to know your name. They take charge cards. And for some reason my dry cleaning didnt smell as "processed" as usual. I have found a new dry cleaner in town! read more

Worst tailoring service ever! I left two brand new suits to shorten the sleeves for an inch.The owner assured me that it will be done from the shoulder, because the British suits have a special flop on the sleeves. However, when I came to pick the suits up, I saw that he simply cut off the bottom of the sleeve, all the way up to the buttons, destroying a signature British suit touch. When I complained, he said that there is nothing to be done now. When I disagreed with him the owner started to scream and cuss at me in Korean and English. I ended with two destroyed suits now. Do not use him for tailoring services!!!!! read more

I loved the previous management of this place, they were GREAT!!! The previous owner and his wife were genuinely nice and honest (most important). They never tried to nickle and dime the clients and understood the concept of customer service. Under the new owner, this place has taken quite a plunge in my eyes. From day one the new owner increased the prices (from $1.10 under original ownership to $1. 25+, as prices seem to vary with him) on clients and didn't bother providing notice. It wasn't until I started analyzing my receipt that I noticed something just wasn't right. After further inquiry, I finally realized that I had been getting charged more. In addition, he isn't genuine, instead very fake. I give him an "E for effort" for trying to ACT nice but his nasty side slips out every once in a while. I, and other individuals, have had run-ins with him over his diminished service, hours, and inconsistent prices. On one occasion his door was still open (with an "open" sign on the door/window), so I entered to pick up my clothing. It was evident that he became a bit bothered by the mere fact that I was in his store at this time. He advised me that the store was closed at this particular hour and I was in there past that time. I advised him that I did not realize this but did point out respectfully that his doors were still open and the sign outside the door clearly stated "open". Though I am sure he realized he was wrong, he went back and forth with me until I eventually ended up apologizing (took the high road). However I was left with a very sour taste in my mouth. On other occasions I have requested same day service, paid for it (which is a premium charge), and not been able to pick it up that same afternoon but instead the next morning. He has called me out on it reminding me that I ask him to perform same-day services and didn't come to pick it up. . . He just doesn't get it, it's not like he is doing me a favor, I am paying more money for this service. He also tries to get over on people. For instance though he knows me by name and is well aware of what service I always request, there have now been several times when I have sent my wife to drop off my clothing and he has ended up charging me more for an upgraded service which we never requested. Note: I make certain that my wife instructs him that it is for me and what kind of service I want. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD OWNERS!!! I have finally had it and have decided to try different cleaners (Smile Cleaners on Guy Lombardo). I am praying that they are keepers. If it works out I am taking myself and the 20+ circle of friends/family with me. read more

Ladies beware! I took my wedding dress here November of 2015 and never got a call to pick it up. I did a trash the dress shoot in Mexico so I was aware that it was sandy and needed help so in January 2016 when he didn't call me to say it was ready, I called and they said it wasn't ready. That's was fine. It's not like I needed the dress for anything. June 2016, I'm moving to Florida and now need my dress. I went in with the receipt and the guy tells me I picked it up in January! I said no I didn't. He argues with me without even looking for it saying his records show we picked it up. I said no I did not. He looked in 1 dress box and said is this it dress? No it was not. He told me he gave it to me and cannot help me. I was furious! I told him I am not leaving until he shows me the other wedding dress boxes. He had the nerve to tell me he has insurance for these things and to settle it with his lawyer! I called my lawyer and they began to argue with him stating how do u give a wedding dress to someone without a receipt! My lawyer then said did u sell the dress? That infuriated him. He then walked me to the back to look at other boxes. These boxes were squashed and flattened. First box, not mine...second box, was MY DRESS!!! I was so happy but pissed bc i just spent an hr of arguing! My dress was wrinkled and not even ready! I told him how could it not be ready after 7 months! He said he would press it. I said no way just give me my dress. He then began to scream in my face saying no no no, your going to pay be first! I mean in my face nose to nose!! This went on for about 10 more mins. My daughter then started crying. So I said forget it this is not worth it. He then said come back I give u discount. I said fine write it down! Or I'm not leaving. He wrote it down and only gave me $30 off. But at this point I didn't care anymore I was exhausted and didn't want to upset my daughter anymore. Do not come here! Definately do not trust his with your wedding dress. I saw dresses on the floor and in boxes disheveled. I cannot believe that anyone could run a business this way. I also forgot to mention I called the Freeport police who said they couldn't help me bc this was a civil case. And did not seem to care about the fact that this man was way to close to my face screaming. So sad. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE - i called to ask if they had a seamstress available today and was told "we are very busy are you a customer of ours?" Clearly i am calling as a customer - whether i am new or existing. I am calling to give you BUSINESS ; MONEY; ETC. i said no i have never been there "DO YOU NEED TAILORING" no I just needed a small clasp stitched back on to a dress ... guy proceeded to ask me where I go for dry cleaning, do I go here... do I go there; this place that place WHAT DOES IT MATTER? don't like a little competition?... I told him i work here in freeport and live 20 min away - . he took awhile to think about whether or not i was important enough to receive service .: stuttering; .. I was clearly an inconvenience to him on this "busy" day. So i saved him some time and said " okay obviously you're too busy for a customer and don't want any new business so I'll take mine somewhere else" .... read more
