And for someone who doesn't feel good about themselves often, I feel fantastic! In particular, Lisa is hands-down amazing sauce. I first spoke with her via Yelp and then I went in the next day. I'm not in a good place financially, and Lisa worked with me to accommodate that. It was a lot of work and took all afternoon, but it was totally worth the money, time, and a burning head. Lisa turned things around when she noticed it wasn't exactly what I wanted due to a mutual misunderstanding. I was impressed by her willingness to do that and talent to do that. I could have easily bought a box of hair color and dyed my hair if I wanted this. Went to the owner to find some resolution, he was rude, arrogant and dismissive. The wash was bare minimum (I had to brush it myself), the cut was a rushed straight-across trim, and when a small knot couldn't be removed, that section was simply cut shorter. The blow dry was almost nonexistent and only done after I insisted; it wasn't fully dried and was finished with a flat iron. The entire service took about 20 minutes and cost $90. These prices might make sense in LIC or Manhattan, but the service here isn't remotely comparable. The space is run down, there's no atmosphere, and no real customer service. It felt like a rip-off, and I won't be returning.
