It's my 3rd time in this salon. I had a phenomenal first experience with Ozlem. She corrected my color and did exactly what I asked her to do and I walked out happy and satisfied. I went a second time and it was not as good, she was rushing through and messed up the color. I thought why don't I try one last time, and it was the worst and certainly my last. First of all, they charge extremely high for the quality that you get. They make you very uncomfortable by being rude to each other, which I hate. I spent more than 4 hours and she took clients in between as I was moved to wait on the couch. My color is nothing like what I asked for. She bleached my hair too much and it's very dry and damaged now. The entire experience was a disaster and it cost me over $500. read more

I came in the salon with no appointment and coming from a salon that completely messed up my hair. The receptionist was kind enough to see if she can get me a consultation. Ozlem really did a deep in depth analysis of my hair what I've done to it to make sure I don't keep damaging it. She color corrected my hair. BUT what is even better she was really educating me on what products to use and how we will slowly get back on track she def doesn't BS because she knows what she's doing! Booked a blowout online. Price said 50$ plus 9$ deposit fee. Ok all good. Get there, they wash my hair , I sit in the chair after and they tell me there's a 20$ up charge for having "long hair".... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! First off let me start by saying my hair was beautiful and long and I walked out with the WORST hair cut of my entire life (see photos for proof). It will take over 2 years to grow to what is was. My request was simple: 2 inches off, long layers, and face framing. You would think such a simple cut would be easily followed...I left with 4-5 inches off, choppy layers, and tears. PLEASE DONT GO to this salon. I've attached before and after photos and you can judge for yourself how BADLY they ruined my hair. Even in a ponytail it looks terrible and very evident the layers are bad never before did I cry because of haircut thanks to space salon I did. Adela was upset for leaving a one star review, telling me I got my "revenge"? This is a hair professional I was supposed to trust my hair with? No wonder it came out atrocious. Not only did she deny a refund, she completely denied any wrongdoing on their part. The only way she would refund me is if I took down this review, which I am now refusing to do out of principle. Ok, great salon but I dont recommend trying all the salonists there. One messed my hair up. Its a male hair cutter named, Blaise. People are raving about him but he chopped my hair off and it looked like shit a week or 2 later, it was not layered well. It looked like i didnt get a hair cut too. I went to a professional cutter and she said my hair was all uneven and i shouldnt need a haircut again after only getting one a month and a half later. I just had a balayage and color done by Shampa and couldn't be happier. She took the time to look at the reference pictures that I had and discuss what I was envisioning. I hadn't had my balayage redone in 2 years and she knew exactly how to refresh it without damaging my previously lightened hair. My old color had faded to something resembling a washed out, tired mermaid. I left looking like an emerald goddess. I'm not one to write reviews, especially negative ones but I just had one of the most frustrating and disappointing hair experiences in my life at this salon so I feel it is warranted. I was in desperate need of a haircut and after reading dozens of reviews, I decided to book an appointment with Shampa. Right when I got there, I felt uneasy. Shampa came over and immediately brought me to get shampooed without any consultation or discussion about what I wanted. She didn't even introduce herself to me or really say hello. As I was sitting at the shampoo bowl she did ask me if I was there "just for a haircut" and I said yes and that I really needed a haircut because if heat damaged ends. Her only response was that my hair was "very dry" and that I should get a Keratin treatment. I declined. She pressed further and I said I had done the treatment before and was not interested. Once I was shampooed and in her chair, she just started cutting. I asked "do you want me to tell you what I am looking to do with my hair? I have photos." She dismissed me, saying I had already told her I wanted 2 inches cut off. I had NEVER specified how much length I wanted off and would not consider our quick chat as a consultation in any way. She disagreed and again said that I told her I wanted 2 inches off and that she "knows what I want." You can imagine what a shock this was to me, since I was not even 100% sure what I wanted. I came in hoping to show the photos and discuss what would work best for my hair, as was my usual experience, especially with a new stylist. I pressed to show her the photos and was able to quickly show one before she dismissed me again, repeating that she knew what I wanted. I admit, with how uncomfortable I felt, I should have left right then. Unfortunately, my people pleaser instincts kicked in instead and not wanting to seem rude I stayed. She barely sectioned my hair, never clipped any of it up or in quadrants (I have a lot of VERY thick hair) and the only thing she checked in with me on was the length of my curtain bangs. Nothing else. I left having paid $100+ for a mediocre haircut and feeling incredibly dismissed and disappointed. I know it is just hair and it will grow back but what was really disappointing was the lack of care and at times over rudeness I experienced. It was as if I was inconveniencing her by being there. Everyone else I spoke with at the salon was nice. I hope this not the usual quality of service and I know everyone has bad days, but I won't be going back to find out. read more

I have been a longtime customer here; after today, I won't be back. The salon came under new ownership not long ago, and it went from a laid-back, reasonably priced experience to a constant upsell. My last visit, my young daughter and I were shamed for not wanting to get a $1000 color treatment for her. This visit, after booking online, the total was twice the amount when I booked online (also the website was horrible to navigate, even on a computer, and required a follow up call--but I was asked several times during my visit if I booked online, which already made me suspicious). When I inquired about the difference, the new owner immediately came to the counter and started aggressively arguing with me, stating that my stylist sets her own prices and it doesn't matter what I booked online (although I chose my stylist before booking). She kept at it, getting personal and quite loud, to the point of following my daughter and me to the door--I expected her to follow us into the street. So, while I like my stylist, I definitely won't be back. However, since I don't know anyone who still uses this salon, due to similar unpleasantness and decreasing quality of services, and it's pretty empty every time I'm in, I'm not sure they'll be closed soon enough anyway. read more

I was looking for a good Salon and came across Space. I read great reviews and decided to give it a shot. I've been dying my hair black for years and wanted to go back to as close to my natural color as possible. I did not realize that it was a big process to get the dyed black out of my hair. Adela the ower was amazing. She explained everything that would be done step by step. Her assistant applied products and Adela was never far behind constantly checking on me and my hair. I was very nervous on how it would all turn out, but at the end of it all, I was extremely happy. I have to go back for a touch up soon. I look forwrd to going back and completing the process. Update: The owner and the employee who runs this yelp page is trying to gaslight. I would never come here again, especially after the nasty attitude I was spoken to and the nasty responses to your negative reviews speaks for itself-this place is highly unprofessional. Come waste money at your own peril. 0 stars if I could. They pay their customers to take down the bad reviews and I'm speaking from firsthand experience with the owner, Stella. In this case, they begged Yelp to take down my original review, twice. They absolutely butchered a simple haircut any new hair stylist could pull off and had the audacity to suggest "thats what you wanted." The only way they will even give a refund is if you take down a bad review, which I wont on principal. Also, the owner speaks down to you and is completely unapologetic. When you ask for a refund, she says "when you take down the review" and then claims "you got your revenge". An honest yelp review for a destroying your long hair is revenge now I guess. As a side note, this business will continue to try and report my yelp reviews to hide their shady business practices. See the screenshot attached for proof. I have never left a negative review on anything before. Especially a salon. My mom is a cosmetologist and used to own a salon so I know how hard it is to run a business and I know the stylists have good intentions when doing their client's hair. Unfortunately, my situation is so terrible that I feel like I have to warn future clients. I came in yesterday to ask for light brown hair (reference photo attached). I wanted one solid color all over my head, just slightly different from my original hair color. My hair was previously lightened around two years ago and I had colored it back to dark around a year ago so I understand it's a little more tricky to re-bleach my hair and that damage should be expected. However, I was never warned that around 40% of my hair would melt off from the mid down. As a hair stylist, you must inform your client of the LEVEL of damage. I understand that sometimes it's hard to gauge how much damage will be done, but as a professional with many many years in the industry, I'd expect you'd have a better idea or at least communicate the severe risk to your client. When I first sat down, the stylist (Shampa) told me that the double process to reach one solid color would be more tricky and 'a little damaging' to my hair and that balayage would be better, implying that balayage would be LESS damaging. She also stated that the balayage and the double process would be the same price so it was up to me. I went with balayage because hair health is more important than achieving any color and if it's the same price, might as well. However, I later came to find out that the double process would have been over $100 cheaper. So did she lie? I don't know. But what I do know is that my hair was completely melted off, likely due to the over-bleaching done by the stylist. At no point did I indicate that I wanted to go blonde and now I have about 4 shades of color in my hair and severe damage all over. to make matters worse, I was never told that the blow dry wasn't included with the hair color. That's not a huge deal, I can look past that. However, when it came to drying my hair and blow drying it, the stylist said that she couldn't finish because she didn't want to tug at my hair. (Keep in mind, at this point I had no idea how damaged my hair was. I thought it was only tangled because of the balayage method). I left the salon with wet roots and tangled hair. Of course, when it was time to pay I was still charged the full $50 for the blow dry. I left the salon with my entire head smelling so strongly of bleach and in complete confusion as to what just happened. Of course, I tipped highly and left the salon in shock because I was too nice to say anything. (Big mistake on my part). It's my birthday today. I saved up for MONTHS to get this done. I paid $540 to get my hair burnt off and have a color that I didn't ask for. Today I called, and I explained the situation kindly. Celeste, who answered the phone seemed like a nice girl, but to be honest their response was very disheartening. They offered me repair treatments but at this point, I do not have anything to repair. My hair is gone. She kept emphasizing that the stylist had 'warned me' about damage but the truth is the stylist did NOT at ANY point tell me the potential severity of the damage. She said 'a little damaged' - to me, and many people out there this implies minor breakage, dryness, and split ends. This is not equivalent to telling your client that a huge part of their hair could break off. They have a 'NO REFUND' policy which I find to be unprofessional. When you destroy someone's hair, the least you can do is give them a refund or at LEAST a partial refund. They wouldn't even refund me for the $50 blow dry... it's sad. I appreciate them trying to offer me treatment to fix my hair but in all honestly, I don't even know how I could step foot into this salon, or any other salon ever again. I'm traumatized by this experience. Please avoid this salon for any sort of color treatment. No matter how much they damage your hair, their 'no refund' policy is a risk you should not be willing to take, especially if you care about your hair. read more
