I really don't know what to say, as I am so surprised at what happened. I spoke with someone at the office (I think Ben was the name) and explained that I live alone in a 960 sq feet two-bedroom, two-bathroom home. 2 cats. One of the bathrooms has a double shower-stall. The ensuite has a bath-tub. The toilet and sink in the shower-stall bathroom rarely get used. The bath-tub in the ensuite never gets used. I was quoted $302 plus tax for the initial cleaning (1 Hour 25 Minutes with a team of 3 (4.25 Person-Hours), The team arrived on schedule. I do not know which team. Two men, one woman. I walked through each room with them, asking what they regularly do. Which seemed fine. I was working in my den which is next to the bathroom with my shower-stall. One man was in there for a full hour. I do not know what the other two were doing, but it was definitely not cleaning the en-suite. Shortly after the hour, the other male started saying to the man in the shower stall that they were going to need more time. About 10 minutes later the man from the stall told me they would need another 35 minutes. Total of 2 hours , meaning 6 person hours (1.4% of the original quote). I phoned the office and was told that it would cost $100 +. At that point, I said they should leave on schedule and I would do the rest. Thinking the only thing that had not been done was my den. However, it turned out that the ensuite bathroom had not been done at all, and the kitchen wasn't finished. I paid another 15 minutes ($53) to get the bathroom done and kitchen finished. The bathtub was not done and neither was the kitchen sink. I told the person at the office that one of the workers had spent an hour in my shower-stall, but he did not offer an explanation. So for $355 plus tax, I got one (out of two) bedroom cleaned, 1 bathroom cleaned, another bathroom partially cleaned, and a partially cleaned kitchen The work that they did was done well, but I have a budget and I was expecting my home, as I described it, to be cleaned fully for the $302 dollars. There is a mismatch between the office estimate and the people that come to the home, and, in my case, it was the customer (me) who bore the consequence of the disparity. The job wasn't completed at the agreed-upon price. Not even close. read more

Our cleaning team (Team 2) arrived within the specified time-window and gave our home a sparkling "hotel shine". It felt great to come home from lunch to a clean home. absolutely terrible, they left my kitchen and hallway floors dirtier than before they arrived. Absolutely left a muddy film all over my tile floors and I had to hire a different company to come in and rectify it because they couldn't clean it. The company I hired to clean up after them I was shocked at the poor cleaning job they did around my toilet and the fact that my dishwasher was marred by oil and water marks after they left. Thieves. One of their cleaning staff stole my engagement ring. Something that sure was worth more than $5000 (we're talking 10 years of jail time!) but also has an incredible amount of sentimental value and is irreplaceable, mostly because there is no way we can afford that ring again! (single income // new parents here!) I have been back and forth with a manager there who has been less than helpful, and simply because no one on the team had done something like this before he insisted they MUST be innocent and has taken zero responsibility. Their cleaners are bonded and insured, but what good is that going to do when they steal something and the company they work for refuses to provide the insurance information?! Also, the manager never called to talk in person, solely relied on e-mail though I tried and tried again to have him speak with me on the phone. Basically dodged any chance of confrontation. I first used Aspen Clean many years ago. They were fabulous. I started using them again in July 2021 for a weekly clean. I have been very disappointed. Most weeks there are problems and despite numerous conversations with their customer service I still return home to find floors not washed and dust and dirt under beds and along the edges of the walls. They do not appear to move anything. A dog bed is vacuumed around and all the fur and grit left underneath and between the bed and wall. They may mop the floor, but they don't actually clean the dirt off it. Today I looked under my bed and the same dust bunnies that were there when I left are still there. They washed the bathroom floor, but then proceeded to walk over the wet floor leaving large dirty footprints. I have been very specific: vacuum and wash the floors and clean the bathrooms. That is it. Leave the kitchen, leave the dusting. I have a 3000 sq ft house with 2.5 bathrooms. No carpet. They have 4 hours to do the clean. I have asked a number of times if they need more time. Each time they say "no." This is not a case of not enough time or me not willing to pay for a thorough job. Now if you just want a one time clean, they will be fabulous. They are always amazing the first time. So for that big clean before Christmas or a party I do recommend them for that. read more

I had a move-out clean performed on my home on May 4th, and found it to be not as thorough a clean as I thought it would be. I was charged $250 plus HST for a total of 3 individuals to clean for 1.55 hours. The cleaners did not clean the debris out of the oven drawer, left the washer dryer units dusty, on top and behind the unit was not cleaned, etc. Small inconveniences, yes I know but... I had payed $250 dollars for a thorough cleaning of an empty 750sq foot unit. I had mentioned the issues with customer service, and the fact that I had to clean what was not done. I was offered 10% off my next cleaning service but I will not be taking Aspen up on this offer. *Edited* May12th - I was contacted by Aspen Clean and they have refunded 25% of the cost of the service and I believe that is fair. I appreciate Aspen's accountability, and their ability to abide by their customer-service guarantee. read more

We've been using AspenClean for several years now and have recommended them to all of our friends. We found them online when we first moved to Vancouver and have stuck with them ever since. We love that: - They bring their own equipment and cleaning supplies, so we don't have to keep things stocked up. And they use environmentally safe, non-toxic products which smell amazing - great for people like me with chemical sensitivities. - It's a different team of people every week, which keeps things fresh - but they have detailed instructions so you get a consistent clean every week. - They send a team! The floors were visibly very dirty after they left my neighbour's house. She took photos. She has a regular whole house cleaning schedule with them, and has for a long time. She also recommends them to friends and neighbours. So, you'd think they would try to keep her happy with their service. But, their customer service solution to her dirty floors was to offer to come back another day to clean just the floors. Imo you are either cleaning the house or you're not. If they didn't get it right during their regularly scheduled cleaning, they should have come back and done the clean properly in it's entirety. So she has to go out of her way to organize the house for cleaning, schedule another time to be out of the house, let them in, etc etc, to do just the dirt on the floors that they left? The other solution was "a one time exception of 15% off". That does not scream appreciation for a long term client. There are a lot of cleaners out there, who will use whatever eco product you like -including simply baking soda and vinegar if it's your preference. So is this the company you want to hire? I did use them about a year ago. The house wasn't clean and it was expensive for not a great job. The young cleaners were lovely and sweet though, so I didn't complain at the time, just didn't hire them again. read more

It felt like a money grab. A crew of three able bodies people cleaning small empty kitchen, two small empty bathrooms and I asked them to wipe the glass. Apparently, it too them two hours! I am still trying to wrap my head around it. ....and still...some shelves I had to wipe myself, my fingerprints were still all over the glass cabinets as I left them...oven was not cleaned. I am really not sure what those 3 young people were doing there for two hours. Having done lots of cleaning in my life...I find this shocking. Not going to hire them ever again. read more

Usually, I'm a pretty easy to please person when it comes to someone else cleaning my space for me. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with this company. I felt overcharged for the services provided ($400 for a "thorough" cleaning of a 1 bdrm apt) and did a very poor job. They also left behind their cleaning equipment, left the apartment balcony door wide open, and left entire areas of the apartment that I asked to be cleaned untouched (e.g., kitchen island). When I emailed about the issues I had, the customer service provided was also poor. All around, very disappointing. read more

Booked their move-out cleaning service. They were on time, but they left stains in the cupboards, dust in the corners of the floors, and streaks of dirt on the windowsills. I specifically asked for them to clean under the stove and there was still bits of food under there after. I emailed and requested a second cleaning. The customer service rep asked if they could come the next day, to which I agreed within 12 hours of receiving their email, at which point they emailed me back and said "the next day is fully booked, please pick another day". They came back a few days later (were around 40 minutes later than the hour window they gave us to arrive) and cleaned again, but the quality was still not good enough for a move-out service, which, because there's no furniture in the apartment, should really be sparkling clean floors/appliances/windows. Instead, our window sills are still dirty, because they just wet the dust and then smeared it around instead of removing it, so now it looks worse. There is still grease on the backsplash by the stove. The doorstop in the living room leading to the balcony is still dirty. Our apartment management is now charging us another $200 to have the place re-cleaned by another company after our move-out inspection. Very unhappy, I don't think they should be offering a move-out cleaning service if their staff is not trained as to what level of clean that mandates. The customer service was also subpar. Go with someone else if you're moving in/out of your home. Editing this to add: The apartment management inspection just revealed that our oven door was broken during the cleaning process (we have not been in the apartment since the cleaners left and it was not broken before). Extremely unhappy, this will cost us more money. I will be asking for a refund. read more

They sent 3 people. One cleaned the ensuite bathroom, one did the guest bathroom and one did the kitchen. Each spent the whole 2 hours doing only that. The ensuite bathroom had to be redone by a follow up call after I sent photos of the areas not done. The person doing the kitchen cleaned the stove top, washed the cutting board and took away the recyclables. He did not clean the sink, counters, refrigerator or load the dishwasher. They did no dusting. Just before leaving, I pointed out that they did not do the vacuuming. He used my Miele vacuum and clogged up the hose with something large. He then finished the job with their vacuum. I found this team to be outright lazy. My complaint to their office was met with argument and refusal to stand behind their promised services. I booked their carpet cleaning service at the same time that I booked the cleaning service, for a different date. The man came with outdated equipment that was inadequate for doing the deep clean as advertised. I had dog stains that were brought to the surface after a carpet cleaning about a month ago. This carpet cleaning should have removed them. The equipment used this time was too old and did not resemble any professional carpet cleaning machine that other carpet cleaning companies use. The carpet was not satisfactorily cleaned. The man acknowledged as much when he left. read more

I called Aspen Clean to have a sofa and chair cleaned through their upholstery and carpet cleaning service. I chose Aspen because of their commitment to the environment and use of natural products. I received very good phone service and booked the appointment with no problem. I did have an issue with the cleaning job they performed on my sofa and chair. The technician was on time and courteous, but after cleaning my beige sofa and chair they appeared to have a striped appearance which they are not meant to have after it dried the next day. I called to inform and sent pictures. They agreed it did not look right and offered to have the tech come out again in a few days to try to make it right. After the second cleaning the furniture still has a striped appearance and he told me that was the best he could do. The second cleaning was not a re cleaning like the first (which is what I believe would take to make it right) but a touch up job with a portable unit. I did not take the issue any further as the tech said it was the best he could do so what more could be possibly done. I would not recommend or use their upholstery cleaning in the future. UPDATE (Sept 21, 2015): AspenClean contacted me and refunded my price of the cleaning. read more

Edit: COO & Co-Owner Chris Solodko was in contact. He was apologetic and took the time to listen. After the call, he sent out an E-mail regarding the conversation and offered a 50% refund. At least he is willing to try to solve the conflict and make it right. I feel that a 50% refund is fair; after all, someone did show up and performed some sort of cleaning. ________________________________________________ If I can give them zero stars I will. Once they have taken your money, good luck. They have no respect for people's time and the attitude they give you is incredible. I work in Asia right now and I have to get up early or stay up late at night to try to call. I have tried to talk to them for 2 and a half week and I ended up getting an email from the operating manager Niall Humphreys giving me a 1 liner asking if I'd book another appointment. 1) It was really frustrating that the original appointment was not even scheduled properly even though I received an email confirmation of the arriving window around 11am. I had to fly out that night, so I called, and they did eventually got someone to come in at 4:20pm 2) I signed up for the extra service for sheets washing, but because there was no instructions for the sheets, I didn't know I was supposed to do anything for it, so when I asked the ladies when I did the walk around afterward, one of them told me nothing was done for the sheets because I didn't leave them out or something. So this item shouldn't be charged then if it wasn't even done 3) I'm not satisfied with the quality of the cleaning. I really didn't have time to do a detail walk around but when I ran my hands on the bathroom counters, my fingers were full of dust and everything else. When I asked the ladies if they have clean the bathroom countertop, and move the few items on there to clean the surfaces, they said yes. I said they are still dirty, and one of the ladies said it was the silicon stuck on the counters, there was nothing more she can do. But it was quite obvious that the countertops need some work when there was hair and dust that I can see, and collect when I ran my hands on them, and a dried out contact lens that I left there was still there. I brought them up to the bathrooms and ran my hands on the surface, pointed out the areas, and they got the spray and wiped the counters again. The girl who told me there's nothing more she can do has such a vile attitude. I have to fly out of the country and I really don't have the time to walk through everything and ask the ladies to redo everything. This is unacceptable for a professional cleaning service, and I don't appreciate the vile attitude at all when I raise the concern over the quality of work. I already spent quite a bit of time to call to get my appointment fixed up, though the man I talked to on the phone was pleasant and apologized and took up the responsibility for the scheduling screwed up. I can't stand around for 2 hours to micro manage the cleaning, and I put my faith in them to do it as professionals. It's not only disappointing, but insulting to be subjected to this kind of disorganization and attitude from the booking process all the way through to the actual cleaning process, not to mention after the fact that various individual have the same attitude in that organization When I got the quote, I was quoted the cleaning will be 2 hours and 20 mins and then because the cleaning wasn't scheduled properly, and you have arranged someone to come in after 4, but for 2 hours. I'm not sure how you estimated the time, but if things are not done properly, or done at all within the time you have quoted me as a paying customer, this is unacceptable. The cherry on top was finally after 2 and half week I finally got an E-mail from the operating manager Niall Humphreys saying "Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. Did you want to book another cleaning with us? Just let me know and I can arrange." I called him and said it wouldn't be an option to book another appointment because I'm out of town for work for months, and I want a refund. He said that's not something he can do, thanks for your feedback sorry to bother you, and he put his phone down. There was no more respond on the other end of the line no matter how many "hello? Are you still on the phone?" I have said. An operating manager with attitude like this, I hate to say it, that tells you how well they'd every treat the customers. We have been using AspenClean for several years. They are easy to schedule with, use all non-toxic cleaning products and are consistently a solid service. Overall, very poor cleaning. Don't use these folks. We had the apartment cleaning service. Blinds and floors cleaned with dirty rags that left streaks. They had to be reminded several time to do some areas. And still missed some areas. They didn't do the freezer....really the basic things were missed. Walls were not cleaned as requested. read more

As a longterm Vancouver resident, I have worked my way through a good number of house cleaners over the years. I'm happy to report that I have now found a cleaning team (Team 7, Aspen Clean) who are dependable, reliable, trustworthy, conscientious, and highly competent. I get the sense that Aspen Clean, as an organization, compensates their employees fairly and treats them respectfully, and this shows in terms of employee engagement and attitude. It is clear to me that Aspen Clean employees are motivated to do good work and they care. Not only are they a great cleaning crew, but they are "consistently" good. Initially, I thought the fee seemed high, but after realizing how much of a difference this has made to me (who like all of us, leads a hectic life) over the many months I've used them, I do not begrudge paying the fee at all. I have been quoted $178.00 for 1 hour and 15 minutes over the phone when I was booking the cleaning service and that's exactly how long the crew was performing the cleaning. When I received an invoice, I was charged $60.00 more. When I called to find out the reason why, it appeared that the crew reported that they stayed 20 minutes more which was not true. BE AWARE of the information discrepancy between customers and the crew. AspenClean should do sign in and sign out sheet to be signed by the customers in order to avoid this unfairness in future. Updated to confirm Steffanie's post that someone from AspenClean contacted us after the Yelp review was posted and offered a free cleaning. The gesture was appreciated, but, as I mentioned to them, the risk of another crew making the same mistake again on a future cleaning (and the cost of refinishing our floors, which would need to be cleared completely as they are resanded, restained and resealed) is an order of magnitude more costly than a cleaning. I'm not sure if they're insured to cover this type of employee error but if so it wasn't mentioned. read more

In the end they didn't show up at all and some poor guy was sent to my house to steam clean my carpet but since no one else showed up i just sent them home. No follow up at all either. July 19th 2016 we had a move out clean at our condo in West Vancouver. A team of four showed up for an hour and a half of cleaning in an empty unit. It was reasonably cleaned I had requested also, that the fridge, stove and oven be cleaned. For those of you needing a move out clean be aware that you must be very specific with these people, Aspen Cleaners. Because if you are not and you do a walk-thru after they have left you will find things have not been touched. Such as a freezer. No one would believe that when you have a team of people come in for a "move out clean on a condo that everything would be clean but alas no they do not clean freezers unless you request it. Freezers in the fridge I am referring to. I was offered a 10% discount on my next cleaning with Aspen. That will not happen unfortunately. The answer I was given is that I did not specifically request that the freezer be cleaned. Apparently my bad. Would I use Aspen again I'm sorry folks, no, I would not. read more
