She was quoted under $200.00. When she arrived at her appoint ment today. The office was incapable of opening the email with her x-rays and told her that will be another $200 plus. She will need to have the doctor look in her mouth for another $100 plus. So the cleaning will be over $550.00. We had used this office before with great results, and found out today the office was sold since December and have now policies. Ww will not be using the services here or returning. Everything looked clean, and the design of the place was warm and not intimidating. Emily Plumadore, the friendly hygienist, explained calmly what was going to happen. The taking of X-rays went fast (additionally, the equipment used was new and definitely seemed the latest). The cleaning was painless, with Emily regularly checking in on me to see that everything was OK. Dr. Maria Szmigiel, a warm and friendly professional, introduced herself. We talked about things just to get to know each other. What really stood out to me was that Dr. Szmigiel asked Emily, the hygienist, for her findings, thereby showing that she trusted Emily's professional input. Following her examination, Dr. Szmigiel patiently shared her findings with me, outlining potential treatment options. I never felt that I was "pushed" to accept an expensive treatment, something I have experienced often with dentists. I felt that Dr. Szmigiel accepted and respected my "conservative" approach to treatment. Nevertheless, I place my trust in her when necessary. Upon check-out, I observed that the clinic's administrative system, including finances, demonstrated a focus on supporting the patient, not just the clinic. All in all: a very positive experience...and this for "going-to-the-DENTIST"!

We were…read moresitting in the waiting room, waiting to be called in when Sally McSweeney lost her mind, acted unprofessional and inappropriate because I had my mask under my nose. I was having a hard time breathing. I put the mask on, while trying to tell her I couldn't breathe and she went crazy, caused a scene & went to get her husband, Dr. McSweeney. Mask wearing is NOT a law, contrary to Sally's lies and false information. I have been to doctors offices, dentists and a hospital, none of which required me to wear a mask. There isn't one single place I go where masks are required, medical facilities included. This is a dentists office. Masks come off to treat children. They are literally inside children's mouths. I'm guessing Sally doesn't actually believe her mask and face shield work. I sure hope Sally & Tim McSweeney are masking up in their daily activities outside the dentists office. I hope they're wearing masks at the grocery store, country club, etc.. If not, this is all just for show. We chose to leave. At $5-6,000 for braces for each child, they just lost $10,000+ from us. I will gladly spend my money elsewhere and you should too. If Sally is this unhinged before we were even seen, I can only imagine how dreadful our entire experience would have been at McSweeneys.

One of my children was a devoted thumb sucker and was a hard case. Dr. McSweeney never gave up, was never intimidated by the situation and was so determined to provide her with perfection. My other child broke their jaw and was attacked by a dog all while wearing braces which complicated and prolonged the treatment. Dr. McSweeney took it all in stride and has continued to deliver amazing results. His staff is super accommodating with appointments, school and athletic schedules, flaky teenagers, less than perfect use of elastics & teeth brushing, etc. They are kind, thoughtful and patient people who are devoted to their work and their patients. I would go back to them 1000 times over and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great orthodontic provider!

My mother scheduled a consultation to discuss mercury amalgam removal. She was told by the…read morereceptionist that the consult would cost $189 and there would be a $75 cancellation fee. Steep, but we want to take care of her amalgams safely so we figured it was worth it. She arrived for her appointment six minutes late and was told to wait in her car. She wasn't brought in until 30 minutes after her scheduled appointment, the dentist spent under 10 minutes with her and said "you don't have that much metal in your mouth" before leaving the room. My mom asked for the treatment plan and costs and the front desk staff said they'd have to talk to the dentist who was now unavailable, so my mom said to just email her with it. The dentist gave her no details about mercury amalgam removal, what it entails, why it's important, and what she could expect. Nothing. It was an enormous waste of time and money. Feels very much like an office consumed with making money, not caring for and informing patients.

He and his brother took over their father's practice when their father retired. It's still located in the same place on Pearl Street. Dr. Lavoie and his staff provide A+ service. Everyone is attentive, professional and helpful. I love his hygienist, Gwen, who cleans my teeth. She's wonderful. Many of Dr. Lavoie's father's older patients still come here. There are always a few older people in the waiting room helping to continue the family tradition. If you're in need of a new dentist, I highly recommend giving this office a try :)
