Dr Rivera is the best dentist. I've worked with in 20 years. I had a lot of serious issues going on, and he made short worth of them with great skill and incredible bedside manner. I taught in medical schools, most of my adult life. These guys know what they're doing and do it well. I have full coverage through the VA, but prefer to go here. I have never in my life paid as much for dentist as in Aspen Dental Foley AL. I changed dentist's a year ago but I still keep getting bills from Aspen. I really thought last couple of noticed would have been refunds but no! They need more money. If I could give zero stars I would. First off, they are extremely expensive. I was going to end up paying almost $8000 for partials and a whole bunch of other procedures I didn't actually need! The doctor is creepy. He walks in, works on your mouth and leaves. I went in for an appt to have 7 teeth extracted. They don't offer nitrous there which I have never had a procedure without it before and never will again! It was horrible!!!! The shots were horrible and traumatizing. I could swear that he was prolonging them and moving the needle around more than necessary. He pulled a back tooth of mine that was infected which I was not on antibiotics for prior to this. It took forever to numb it and forever to pull it. I was in tears and white knuckling the entire time. Once he left, they fitted my temp partials and they just aren't right. They don't look right, don't fit right. I understand the fit has to be adjusted but you can only do so much adjustment. Anyway, I was given gauze, a case for my partials, a few polident tablets and a brush and that was it. No antibiotics for the infection, nothing for pain just told me to take some Tylenol. It's been 3 weeks now and I am miserable. The first couple of days were almost unbearable. My face was swollen and bruised. I had to call them to get an appt to get my temp partials adjusted as they were causing sores and they were in no hurry to see me as it took me a full day and half. (My sores still aren't healed from that). A few days later I had to call them and get another appointment because I couldn't open my mouth and my face was swollen and painful. Again it took a day and half to see me and I walked in and sat down, the dental asst had me open my mouth for half a second and said "oh yeah it's infected" and said she would send in a prescription for antibiotics. I asked for something for pain to help me at night, they totally gaslit me and told me to take Tylenol and Motrin together. It has been over a week since then and I cannot open my mouth very wide. Yawning is excruciating! I called them today to request a refund for the amount I have paid in for the work that hasn't been done yet and to cancel all my future appointments. I have not received my refund yet. If you are thinking about going here, don't. Especially if you have dental anxiety. Save yourself from spending tons of money, trauma, pain, aggravation and find a dentist that actually cares. read more

I got a text yesterday from a collection agency stating that I owed this place 44.30 for a cleaning back in 2020. They ran my insurance back when I used their services. They make a detailed plan for your benefit prior to service and you pay upfront. Out of the blue years later I get this notification? You had my number! It hasn't changed. Wow I am so surprise with the way I was treated from beginning to end! I had my assumptions on Aspen Dental because it is corporate. My assumptions were that I was going to be rushed in and out. Herded like cattle's but it was definitely the opposite. I was immediately greeted with a nice face! They took the extra steps in being safe for COVID-19. And I really appreciated it! They gave me paperwork to be filled out on an iPad. Hand sanitizer before and after use. They took my temperature. I just knew I had nothing to worry about. Christin took me back to take X-rays and was very thorough in doing so. Then I met Derricka! And she was amazing! She made me feel so comfortable and Excited to be here. Lol I know... who gets excited by being here? They literally make you feel at ease . And Derricka definitely did that! And it was definitely not any fake happy or phoniness it's very genuine! She reassured me numerous of times through out my visit! Dr.Popp went over my X-rays and explained everything to me and then worked on my bottom back tooth (#31). He gave me a shot of novocaine and it was probably the first time in a dental office where I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. Dr.Popp made sure your experience is the most easiest and pleasant. Asked me numerous of times during the procedure if I felt any pain and if I was okay. I couldn't believe how easy my experience was. It was literally the best experience and I still can't believe it! I guess don't make any assumptions of a company based on what you heard that was my mistake!!! And I'm glad my mind has changed about Aspen Dental. After 18 trips to Aspen Dental and one trip to personally see the owner and 2 sets of dentures they made me which I could not wear more than an hour because they cut my bottom lip terribly and blistered the top of my mouth, the owner came up with an only resolution of he could remake my teeth, but I would look like a bulldog because of the underbite, which I do not have now at all, and have not ever had an underbite with my dentures since 2006! Or, I could go get another set of dentures, made somewhere else, and then he would refund my money that is totally outrageous who has that kind of money to invest in teeth that he's only saying he will refund nothing in writing! This dental practice is a joke! I would not send my little dog there to get his teeth worked on! I have turned them in to the Dental board of Alabama and I'm getting ready to turn them in to the Better Business Bureau. This is totally absurd business I have in writing that they guarantee after every attempt they would refund my money yet they refuse.!!!! I started with them December 22 and as of yesterday or day before yesterday, which was 20 June.2023, I still do not have teeth from them that can be worn! So I will wait until the first of the year and then I will go across the highway to Sandollar, who made the set that I'm wearing now and have been wearing for over 10 years! They know what they're doing their no issues no problems with only one adjustment and I have worm them for 10 years! Never again will I look into the door of Aspen Dental except to take these teeth back to them and leave them on the desk!!! read more

I went there a year ago to have an intermediate plate made before having the last of my upper teeth pulled, it fit perfectly. Now a year later I have made 3 trips for molds to be done, plastic try outs and the final plate. The final plate was nowhere near close to fitting my mouth after 3 adjustments yet I was sent home with the very same plate to try for a week. I had to remove it as soon as I got home as it caused so much pain. Now I'm dealing with an episode of PTSD (originally from the military) from having to subject myself to such callous disregard for my own health and well being over their profit. Also had to deal with the dental hygienist that insisted I let her once again inspect my mouth when all I went for was my dentures. I had to sign a release form that I refused her treatment as though she had the final say in what I was paying for. This is disgusting! read more

Worst experience from a doctors office. My fiancé had an allergic reaction to the medicine they administered to numb him for a wisdom tooth extraction. The doctors basically refused to believe that he was having a reaction (even though his tongue and face were swelling) and blamed it on PTSD. Seriously?? The staff continued to ask my fiancé if he wanted water because they thought he was overreacting. If you've ever had a completely numb mouth you would know it is nearly impossible to drink anything because you can't feel anything. You'd think the staff at a dentist office might have some knowledge of this.... Long story short, they called an ambulance to take him to the hospital and later refused to pull his wisdom teeth until he went to see an allergist to determine what exactly he was allergic to. However, they conveniently agreed to do the cleaning that would cost almost $2000. In order to get a referral for an allergist, the VA needed an incident report of what happened. You'd think if you were sent to the hospital the dentist should have filled out some sort of incident report, right? WRONG! There was no report and when we asked for one (3 weeks later) they told us that we would have it by the end of the following business day (the day before Thanksgiving). Well shockingly enough, we didn't receive the letter until the Friday after Thanksgiving because they were closed. Also, when we asked why it would take so long for a report, the answer was "the doctors have full schedules." No shit lady we all have full schedules!! The report that was written didn't even have his name typed on it and it was a handful of sentences that said that my fiancé's reaction was from PTSD and anxiety; completely refusing to believe that he was having an allergic reaction. We went to the hospital and about 30 minutes after receiving medicine, the swelling went down and he was able to breathe and speak again. I DO NOT recommend going to Aspen dental. So incredibly unprofessional and seemingly incompetent. Also, they have very busy schedules so if you have an issue post procedure you'd have better luck winning the lottery than getting any sort of assistance from them. Do NOT go here. This is a chain only concerned with getting people in and out in mass. They have NO CONCERN for you whatsoever!!! They demand payment (their policy) before you can make an appointment. They do not answer their emergency line that they tell you to call if you are in pain. Despite telling me she would, this dr didn't write me a scrip for anti biotics, instead told me to deal with it by rotating Tylenol and Advil until I can afford to make a appointment. I tried to make an appointment today and now they can't see me for another week, but they want my money now. ,,l,, I hope someone treats these soulless welps with the same compassion they showed me. read more

Corporate bs. I went in for tooth pain. After ridiculously long x-Ray process with a girl who had no idea what she was doing. I get sat in a room and had to hear the staff asking each other where the "doc" was. After a long deliberation they came to the conclusion he was " taking a shit." He came in put gloves on then shook my hand and proceeded to dig at everyone of my teeth but the one in question. During this time judging by his speech patterns, tone of voice and pronunciation, I'm 99% sure he was inebriated. After the exam, in more pain than when I walked in, I am told I need $6,500 worth of dental work done and he doesn't even give me the antibiotics I need to stop the pain. I went there years ago to have a crown placed, and could only afford a metal crown. One year later I had moved to Fl, and went to a new Aspen Dental. I came back because I had pain in that same tooth. It turns out there was an open margin on that tooth the entire time, so bacteria was able to get in and affect the tooth. They thought they were doing a good thing by replacing the metal crown with the white porcelain crown. I still didn't need a root canal though. I just now went to my new dentist in Tx because my tooth is in pain once again really bad and they told me the tooth STILL had an open margin. This place has cost me so much money. They seriously don't know what the hell they are doing. I suggest no one go here. Not in less you want to pay way more than what you need to. This place is a rip off, and I don't even know if they have their license. They have no idea what they are doing!!!! Pay a little extra and go somewhere where they know what they're doing!!! Hopefully my advice can help others to stay away from this place. They just can't do crowns. read more

I made an appt for 9 am. I got there early to do paperwork 8:45. I was there over 5 hours to repair a partial. The partial no longer fits right. I am having to replace a soft liner the lab removed to do the repair. I was told by a student there from Fortis that the repair would take 5 min. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I had a great experience at this dental office. All of the employees were nice and welcoming and they did a great job taking care of me. The hygienist does a good job, very personable and doesn't tear up gums while cleaning teeth. Dr. K knows if stuff and is amazing. Ask him to tell you his jokes :) read more

I went to Aspen dental at approx 6 PM for emergency pain relief hoping to get an antibiotic. My face was visibly swollen from an abscessed tooth. One person in the waiting room. Receptionist said they closed at 7 PM so I could not see a dentist. She was checking her computer so I told her I could not wait for the next day. She asked so you can't come in at 9:30 am. I replied, "No I cannot I will go somewhere else." Since this was the onluy dental office opened I went to the Immediate Care clinic and received an injection and antibiotic capsule. I would not recommend this outfit to my worst enemy. read more
