I made an appointment for a cleaning that I never received. They took a lot of ex rays and informed me I needed extensive care in the tune of $5000.00. I just seen my regular dentist six months prior, and had not been told of any if these things aspen explained as necessary. I ran back to my previous dentist . I am very happy with. They are liars and put more thought to their pocketbooks, then patient care. I advice anyone to stay clear of these medical quacks. read more

Every time I have walked n their doors, it has cost me a couple hundred plus $$ and that is with dental insurance! I should have known when the person taking my X-rays would not listen when I told her that the apparatus she was using was cutting into the bottom my mouth. After more X-rays - more than I have ever had, I am convinced that it was just a way to get more money. At my last visit just to pick up a mouth guard which I believe was paid for in full, I was told the day before I had $150 balance. Once I got there that had risen to over $500!!! I was told that they estimate the insurance payment. Well whomever is doing their estimating may want to find another profession. They charged me for an electric toothbrush & Water Pick, which I had to ask to be removed. I already had both of them. They try to up-sell at every turn and want payment before the service. On another note, my husband went to their Portsmouth office for his first appointment. They did X-rays and an exam. The dentist said he needed a filling and had time to do it. Well that filling didn't last a week! In less you want to be related like an ATM, stay away. Another thing that irked me was their staff took all the up front parking spaces. Wow!! My husband went in with SEVERE tooth pain from a broken tooth. An hour and half later he called to tell me that he was told 3 different things about his treatment plan and that they wouldn't pull the rest of his tooth NOW to relieve the pain. I tried calling back multiple times only to be asked to hold and then hung up on and then after calling back again it would just put me in voicemail. We contact another dentist office and they are able to take him right away and take care of the broken tooth. Definitely not recommending Aspen to anyone. read more

I came here for an initial examination that went great. The office staff was nice, 10/10 experience. The issues arose when it came to scheduling a wisdom tooth extraction. I called and scheduled an extraction at another office for 8am on April 6th, at the time of scheduling they took payment and told me I was all set. Today, Monday the 4th, I still had not seen any confirmation of the appointment and hadn't heard from them, so I called the office I was supposed to have the procedure done at, they had no record of me being scheduled. In fact, they haven't even been doing oral surgery due to a pending inspection. So now, it's 2 days before my surgery, I've been in extreme pain for three weeks, had an apparent scheduled appointment for nearly two weeks, already paid, and taken time off work. But as it turns out all this time, I had no appointment scheduled, and not once did the office reach out to me about this, despite having my payment. If I hadn't called today I would have showed up on Wednesday for a nonexistent appointment. When calling this office to figure it out, they offered no apology or explanation. They scheduled another appointment at yet another office for over a week from now, in which time I will still be in extreme pain, and have to request more time off work as well as make arrangements for the appointment and aftercare. I'm not one who usually complains, but this is beyond absurd. The treatment from the office as well as the overall negligence of the staff booking this appointment. If the appointment wasn't scheduled, they could have reached out any time after I originally scheduled and probably have gotten me in sooner, but I heard nothing. If I hadn't called I would have had no idea. If I hadn't already paid I would be going elsewhere. Will definitely not work with Aspen Dental again. read more

Messed up my crown 2x had to keep going in. Went in 8 months pregnant to get done for the third time. Was told bill was all set since it was there fault and it was a new year there was a deductible. Was 100% assured not to worry about $800 bill. Called last week to see why I had received another bill and spoke to Kelly Ann regional manager who said I owed it because I should of come back to get it done before new year. I explained that they had to order crown which took weeks. She tried to put blame one me.. not paying bill they are crooked. Brandi the office manager there was also no help and snappy. The billing dept is not component and will not clarify costs with you as well. read more

I had a cleaning/check up in August that went great. Had the next check up scheduled for a Saturday in late Feb. 2017. A couple days before the appointment, they called me to reschedule because of personnel shortages. That was fine. I rescheduled again later in April on a Saturday. I gave 5 stars due to the professionalism & expedience of Dr.Y. She was lovely & so were the other ladies plus the young man at Front Desk, very pleasant***** There's one that needs to be ousted. I had a good experience except for this 1 person that is a "bad apple & can ruin the whole bunch" but...... this was the place our insurance was taken, only, so I had no choice. I had a horrible experience in Newington & wasn't looking forward to another. Everyone was lovely. EXCEPT When I went in the 2nd person I spoke to was the woman in billing. She has zero diplomacy! She has a major Hair across her ASS to say the least. I believe she was at the NEWINGTON practice & was miserable there as well. She brings absolutely nothing to that business except her misery. One of the rudest people in the customer service aspect of Billing. The rest of the Staff was awesome. Dr. Y. had me change my mind about the Aspen experience as well as the other staffer's. Dealing with the wench in billing can change this. She needs to go & the sooner the better. read more

The office staff was friendly but that's probably the only nice thing I have to say about them. Now I know why they offer free consultations with xrays. They are very pushy when it comes to recommending treatment. Acting more like high pressure sales people. They told me I needed an implant and two root canals, and didn't recommend any other options, options that are definitely cheaper. I honestly felt as if I was at new car dealership and they were attempting to rake me over the coals. I went to another dentist who clearly explained my options and had better prices. read more

They are trying to make money off of people. I went in for the free consultation without dental insurance. I came out with an estimate of $2700 for the fixing of 10 cavities. Left, was eligible for dental benefits, went to my long time dentist and they informed me I had one area that might turn into a cavity, but no need to fill now. I can't imagine if I had paid "the quote" and then some for them to have messed up my mouth with permeant damage. I tried to complain to corporate customer service, this apparently does not exist, so here it is: Don't go! Horrible... Don't go here unless you absolutely have no choice. First, these places feel more like a Dominoes pizza than a professional Dentist office. You are cattle here and its clear they have no respect for their patients. I needed a consultation on an implant for one tooth. I had two sets of X-rays from another dentist. They refused to look at them and insisted on their own set.. Cha ching... That would mean i would have been X-rayed three times in a month. When i told them about my worries with being X-rayed that much, they told me they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't harm me. I also told them my insurance wouldn't pay for it again. I was told i couldn't even meet the dentist until I agreed to the third set. I took the day off from work for no reason. This is not only Dentistry at its worst but America at its worst... Its all about the money! Also beware!!! They have you sign forms stating you read the privacy policy and the payment policy... The privacy page was missing... I already wrote a review and going to add..............I decided not to have work done there so they said they'd send me back my money in 7-10 days. Its been 2 weeks.......I drove over there to ask office manager ......she looks it up and says it went out a day ago and will get it by next week. I also had to wait over half an hour as she was busy with another patient who sadly is going to have work done here. This is a follow up from a few months ago. I went to this place...always care for my teeth. They did the usual xrays exam.....according to them, my gums were horrid, bone was shrinking...cracked fillings....needed $2000 worth the work. I walked out in disgust. Went to another dentist down the road...small place.........gums teeth and all was fine.....just needed a cleaning.........Steer clear of these huge places that u can get an appt the day after u call. UPDATE: I contacted Kelsey, ADMI as she requested approximately two weeks after her reply. She assured me that the "Doctor's" diagnosis was correct and that the X-rays showed the need to extract her front tooth. She never stated her qualifications to confirm the diagnosis, only that she was part of Aspen Dental's administrative team, which I can only assume is code for "damage control". She promised to mail me the X-rays and records which I have not received to this date (Its been 5 months and we confirmed the mailing address...twice). I reiterate that this complaint was only initiated after I read additional reviews regarding this Dentist and this office that stated they had similar experiences with unnecessary surgery. I am 52 yrs old and needed to have my bottom wisdom teeth removed. I had put it off for more than 30 yrs because the roots were hooked into my jaw. They were 30 min late for my appointment, but felt they would take extra time with me too if needed. They were efficient, friendly, professional, and very thorough. as a precaution they sent me home with antibiotics, steroids for the inflammation, and Vicodin for pain. I didn't have any pain and only needed to take Tylenol for an occasional headache. I am so impressed with the thorough instructions they reviewed with my husband and I before I was discharged home and sent them home in writing so that I could review as needed! Our dentist recommended that my husband get three of his wisdom teeth extracted. The normal oral surgeon he refers to didn't take our insurance, so I searched our insurance site to see who in the area we could go to. Aspen was nearby and had decent reviews on the insurance site, so I made him an appointment. I told them we had a referral from our dentist so we just wanted to meet with the oral surgeon. They said it wasn't a problem, and we just needed to bring a copy of his x-rays with us. So I drove to our dentist to pick up a copy of the xrays. When the receptionist hear where my husband was going for a consultation, she warned us to be careful. She said these guys are all about the upsell, and will strongly encourage things that aren't necessary. Yesterday, the dentist called my husband and asked him to come in an hour earlier than we scheduled his appointment. Because he's much nicer than I am, he agreed to 30 minutes, because he couldn't leave work earlier. We get to the dentist office today, and after filling out the paperwork, are informed that a regular dentist needed to examine my husband and take xrays, even though he had that done by a different dentist last week. After explaining that, they said we had scheduled a regular appointment, and not a surgical consultation. At first, I thought they'd try to squeeze us in the surgeon today, but they told us he's only in the Epping location once a month. He wasn't coming in September, didn't have a date for October yet, and didn't have his schedule so couldn't tell us when he would be at their other locations. If we waited the few weeks to schedule with him, we only would have met him for a few minutes before he pulled out the teeth, which seemed weird. What if he has questions for the dentisit? The receptionist admitted mistakes like this had been made before. We told her we didn't appreciate them wasting our time (and trying to get an extra cleaning and set of x-rays from us) and that we would find another surgeon. She sarcastically wished us luck, saying they were the only practice in Southern NH that accepted our insurance. Which is absolutely not true. What a waste of our afternoon. read more

I had an appointment at 5:45 they called at 5:30 when I had just pulled into the parking lot to say they were running behind and had to reschedule! Really!?!? How is them running behind my fault? They called me 15 mins before my appointment. They couldn't call any sooner??? I wasted gas and time and left my 3 kids home which my youngest is only 6 months and nursing so she depends on me to be able to be there to take care of her and feed her. What an inconvenient dentist! They aren't very professional in my opinion! I could have used my valuable time to get a pedicure instead of a wasted trip to the dentist parking lot! read more

The doctors and nurses were very nice and had a sense of humanity. They did 10 fillings for me and it was amazing they numb you with novacaine so you can't feel anything and will stop and do what they can if you feel any pain while doing the procedure. Really great dentist. read more

The professionals at Aspen were average at best. My reason for going there was due to the fact that I needed to have two wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was the best part of the process in terms of exercising care and concern for my issue. The process of extracting the teeth went quickly but I discovered that the oral surgeon hit a blood vessel upon injecting the novacaine. This was not discovered until I had to return there later that afternoon as my mouth had been excessively bleeding for a couple of hours. I would simply ask that proper due diligence and care is exercised to ensure that each patient is cared for properly in a way that ensures all possible consequences are addressed. I just felt as though I was rushed out. I don't like being a number and the corporate world can be that way. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I went here for the first time May 2017. They recorded my insurance card number wrong on the claim so I ended up paying out of pocket for the visit after receiving several payment notices and making several phone calls to the office. I went in again for a cleaning November 2017 (my mistake for thinking things would be different) and they assured me the cleaning would be correctly submitted to my insurance this time. It's now 7, almost 8 months, later and I'm still calling them and visiting the office regularly to ask them to submit the claim to my insurance. I'm now getting collection notices and I'm ready to just pay the darn bill but everyone says I should hold my ground. I went into the office again today with the latest collection notice and demanded that it be taken care of today and that I wasn't leaving until it was. I'm not a confrontational person so this was huge for me. They "assured" me again that it would be taken care of. An apology for all this trouble and some follow through doesn't seem like too much to ask for but apparently it is. I'm sure that it still won't be taken care so I'm not sure what else to do besides just pay for it myself and never have to deal with these people again. read more

My mother was treated by Aspen Dental in Epping for a partial dental plate. She was given the option of a partial plate, or having all of her teeth extracted and a full plate. Due to the cost, she opted for the partial plate, at $885.00. After the work was completed and paid for, she was told that the plate she received is a temporary plate, and it would need to be replaced in 6 months with either a permanent partial or full plate, at an additional expense. The partial plate she received has a big bright white replacement tooth sticking out in front of the others, and attaches to a tooth that is cracked. They will not repair or fill the tooth that the plate is attached too. We feel that the partial plate she received is not acceptable. Also, the options available to her, along with the cost, were not fully explained prior to treatment. It was expected that the amount which she paid in full was all that was needed. She was not informed that this was temporary, and there would be an additional expense of $900-$1200 for the permanent plate. Contacting an attorney. read more

The dental assistant was head bobbing, falling asleep as i was getting fillings. 2/3 of my fillings were done so horribly, I've had nothing but problems with them since and the doctor told me there's nothing she can do. Called to find out if they accepted insurance before making an appointment and the only thing I could find out is that they will not accept medicare or medicaid. When I explained that this insurance was through employer I was advised that the only way to find out if insurance is accepted is to make an appointment and they would let me know "a day or two before the appointment" I inquired as to why they could not tell me now the response was "It is too complicated to do it in advance" If basic insurance validation is too difficult I can only imagine the rest of the horrors- read more

I would give less stars if I could! I gave them a fair shot, and 1 out of 4 visits there, was pleasant. I give kudos to the hygienist that was from a DIFFERENT office! She was the only one that didn't make me feel like a complete and utter joke. I wish I knew her name to give her praise. I went in there with the impression that they were going to be looking at my cracked tooth to see if I needed a root canal or not. Instead, I get told that I'm getting a filling upon checking in. I explain that that was not communicated with me. They bring me back to procedure room and I sit and wait. The dentist came in, said hello, then lowered my chair, at this point I was thinking they were going to be deciding then and there if I needed the root canal or the filling! Nope! The dentist numbed my mouth and stuck two needles into my gums without explaining anything to me. After the dentist just left. I turned to the assistant and asked her if it was normal for them not to explain the whole procedure as they're doing it. I got an attitude and was asked 'have you not ever had a filling before? she was just numbing you.' She went and told the dentist that I was upset and she came back, and we argued for twenty minutes-how could you give someone a filling that will cost about a hundred dollars just to try to fix the tooth then get told that there is a 98% chance that I will leave with pain! Not ever communicated with me with the past three visits. Why would I want to leave with pain when I don't have pain now? Why would I want to pay for my filling and a $1500 root canal? How can someone just walk into a room and start poking peoples mouths with needles?! What if I was allergic? What if I had a bad reaction? I had never signed anything saying I wasn't or was! There is a serious lack of communication at this Aspen Dental. It's like if you don't have sparkling white teeth, they shame you. I will not be returning to this office or any another Aspen Dental office. I will be in contact with a supervisor, as well as other offices to prove my point that you cannot do this to people. read more

Terrible. Front desk lady wasn't friendly at all. Lady who took me in for X-rays didn't even make eye contact or say hi when she let me through the door. I immediately noticed their old school equipment and X-ray system. The back room for the exam looked dirty, I didn't even want to sit in the chair. Again, all old equipment. The assistant was very sweet and doctor nice. When I left I had to wait 10 minutes to sit through a "consult". I asked if I could opt out bc I don't want any additional services and just schedule my cleaning. The front desk woman rudely said it's mandatory, so I waited. She priced other services I wasn't interested into the cleaning price. I said just a cleaning. She gave me a higher price than the one I was given on the phone by their "call center". She blamed it on them, and didn't offer to honor that price (which is why I was there in the first place). Terrible experience all around. read more
