The care I received at this office location was remarkable. I was so nervous going into my first appointment with not knowing what to expect. The minute I walked in the door and was greeted by Jenelle and some of my anxiety went away immediately. She is so friendly with a huge smile that lights up the room! Deanna was my hygienist my first day and really went over my "profile" with me and what kinds of treatments I could benefit from. She was so knowledgeable and kind. Later, I met with Sakina who discussed my payment options with me and helped me come up with a "plan" to fix my issues with my teeth. She was so kind, helpful, and called me back when she said she would. This office has been the best dental practice I have ever been to! I would highly recommend. I highly recommend avoiding Aspen Dental. They're very unprofessional. You will pay more than the quoted price and they will charge you for items you don't need. They change appts without telling you. They also rescheduled several times for appts. They sent out emails with incorrect appt dates. If I had done my research beforehand, we would have never considered coming here. We came here because they accepted insurance. So they took our insurance but we paid 1000s more out of pocket than a private practice charges for the complete procedure. For the amount they charge, you'd think they would give their customers decent seating in their waiting room. IMO, their corporate practices are shady. I scheduled an appointment with Aspen Dental in West Ashley, SC on January 16th. The appointment was scheduled for January 19th at 10:30 am. I received an email confirmation, as well as several more emails from them. I have a flip phone. I don't use it unless I make a call. Sometimes I don't even pick up my phone for days. Last night (Jan. 18th) at 5:30 pm, I checked it. I found a message from Aspen Dental which stated my appointment would be cancelled if I did not verbally confirm the appointment by 2 pm on Jan. 18th! I don't take my flip phone with me, attached to my hand, checking it every 5 seconds. We were gone all day on the 18th. I did not have my phone. When I called the office this morning, the office manager said it is their policy to verbally confirm or cancel. The email confirmation said nothing about verbally confirming, OR I WOULD HAVE DONE IT! The manager did not care. My appointment was cancelled. I told her Aspen Dental just lost a patient. She said she called me 3 times on the 18th - in the morning & twice in the afternoon. And then cancelled the appointment. Her attitude was unacceptable. I told her the written email confirmation did not mention the verbal confirmation. She said, "This is our policy - verbal confirmation." read more

I went in for a same-day partial denture which I was told I could get done here. 1st it wasn't same day. 2nd I had to keep going back because they were so thick and huge they were cutting up my gums and not staying in place. Just sipping on a drink with a straw or talking made them pop out. I went back for a third time to get them adjusted and they told me they couldn't make it smaller nor do anything to make them fit better and I would have to use denture adhesive to eat with them. I have been wearing partials since I was 7 and I am now 33. I have never EVER had a partial I can't eat with. I asked for metal clasps and was told no-one in the industry uses metal clasps because they break teeth. This was an absolute lie. I spoke to other prosthodontists and they said that is completely inaccurate. I don't have time to get a whole new set done before I go on vacation because of how many opportunities I gave Aspen Dental so I have to go somewhere else to get it adjusted and pay someone for a second time. Not to mention they tried to sneak in a $135 charge for an electric toothbrush they never gave me and I never asked for. Glad I checked the invoice before paying them the second half of the cost of my partials. Waste of time, waste of money, lots of pain, and unnecessary stress. What I didn't like: The gentlemen working the front desk was extremely rude. I was so confused! I am young and was scared as is, his blatant rudeness to me didn't help. took 9 months to get my dentures. 7 tee have fallen out of them in the next year. they can't get them fitted properly and they want money to put the tooth back in the denture . 8 in in total and 4000. for the dentures. and with the improperly fitting not only knocking out teeth but also having to pay for the gaskets to be replaced every 3 months. read more

Please Beware! My mom received awful treatment. The Dentist hygienist was wonderful, however they tried to tell my mom that she had a gum disease and needed ALL her teeth removed. She has a mouth full of working teeth. They wanted her to remove them to sell her dentures. When she refused and told them only to remove the one with the cavity, she said the Dentist was very aggressive during the extraction and dismissive towards her. He stormed out. Only to find out days later they told my cousin that she had a gum disease and needed all of her teeth pulled so they could sell her dentures. Again, she has a mouth full of working teeth. This seems to be a trend with this company. Trying to tell people they need to remove all of their teeth to sell them dentures. Please SAVE YOUR TEETH go to another dentist and get a SECOND OPINION! If you don't want to have to dispute charges, stay away! First of all, the dental hygienist is wonderful. Very personable and caring. Does forget to notate in your chart when you refuse certain services ( fluoride treatments). Both my wife and I decline the fluoride treatments. My wife has been a patient of Aspen Dental for a few years and has been billed twice for services not performed. I have gone 1 time for a cleaning and was billed for fluoride treatment that I did not receive. My wife was able to receive a credit, I have not yet. They keep saying because it is in my chart, I had the treatment done. At my wife's last visit she was charged a co-payment even though Aspen is in network with her insurance. Representative at the insurance company said the service without the fluoride treatment was covered 100%. She asked them just to bill the insurance and if it is discovered that she owes, she would pay at that time. Told that's not the way it works, pay or no services today. We both went in a couple of days later to discuss our account. Was told they were closing soon as the dentist was out that day. We would have to make an appointment. Requested a copy of both ledgers. Were never asked when we would like to schedule an appointment. Went back a couple days later, told again we would have to schedule an appointment with a financial person (which a financial person was never mentioned on previous visit). Was told at one point in the past that the dentist made the decision whether or not to credit charges. The front desk receptionist is very rude. Tried to say we did not ask to discuss our accounts at the visit that we received our ledgers. Why would anyone request ledgers if everything was fine with their accounts. After looking at the ledger, I realized both my wife and my co-payments were exactly the same. We have different insurance providers. Mine requires a co-payment, hers doesn't. What are the chances that they looked at the wrong patients chart when determining the co-payment from my wife or they wouldn't perform the cleaning that day. I'm thinking the chances are real good. Very disappointed in Aspen Dental's rude employees and poor billing services. We will be scheduling our next appointments elsewhere! read more

I just moved to Charleston for a new job that finally gives me the medical benefits I've been chasing for years. I came here pretty embarrassed about the condition my teeth were in, not sure how I let them get to this point. It's been a long time and I was unusually nervous. The entire team here at Aspen dental has been incredible. I'm literally still here as I write this, because I'm so impressed and relieved. Everyone made me feel very comfortable and confident that we're going to get my smile back to proud and healthy. They were also very accommodating with my hectic schedule and managed to squeeze me in for a full first day, very last minute. I am very grateful, and especially for Roz who I found out later skipped her lunch break to finish my procedure! Thank you!! read more

Update: my Insurance Company Representative has tried to reach out someone and has left voicemails and no return calls have been made to resolve this issue. A product was paid for by the insurance Company it was returned as per your policy, but now your office states they were never paid for. Aspen received payment on 3/10/2021 and I made full payment in February 2021 so I could be scheduled to have the services done. I returned your product on 12/10/2021 and signed paperwork regarding refund. I initialed and marked exactly what I was told was to be refunded. It is now almost a month and a half later. I get told along with my insurance rep that the refund was issued and sent on 12/14/2021 then I get a bogus statement from your company mind you it is the only statement I have ever received from Aspen. When Humana Rep contacted them now they state they never received payment from the insurance company which is a down right lie. As per your response you want to resolve this then refund the monies that your finance manager stated was to be refunded. I have the document that was signed and documented what the amount was. This explains why your finance manager didn't want to initial it as well like I requested and his exact words to me were "I have been doing this for eleven years I guarantee your money will be refunded there is no need for me to sign the document." If I could give them a Zero star I would. They are thiefs and liars. Stay as far away from them as possible. my Insurance company contacted them regarding monies that were to be refunded and they now state the insurance company didn't pay them. They sent a false statement to me that did not match what was sent to the insurance company and also took payment from me for the amount of the difference I exceeded on my insurance. They received payment from me in February 2021 and the insurance sent full payment on March 10, 2021. The insurance company questioned them regarding the inconsistency and why the refund was not sent and the finance guy hung up on them then refused to take any further calls. Do not go to them for any services especially dentures. They do not honor their policies at all. It's been ages since I've gone to a dentist, due to my anxiety/phobia of anyone messing with my face! The dentist and hygienist at this location were so gentle, and so personable, I never felt anxious at all. That has never happened. Ever! If you struggle with anxiety over visiting a dentist, go to Aspen! They'll work with you. They also worked with me regarding a payment plan, and never once did I feel pressured to do things a certain way or in a certain order. Also, I always have to pay additional bills 2 months later. The worst experience I have ever had. I have tried to get them to talk to me about upper dentures that are wrong, a bottom temporary partial that I am trying to get the permanent one after 8 months. I left messages with people and on the answering machine. It took me calling the complaint department 3 times to get them to call me back. They finally did and I made an appointment to see the office manager. Within 10 minutes they called back and said that they changed the appointment to she would call me back between 24 to 48 hours. After all I had gone through I said that was not good enough so I was transferred to the office manager and was verbally assaulted by her. I was angry as well but she was the rudest I have ever dealt with. I am asking for a full refund and an apology from her before I picket the business and sue them. I have left a message with the owners of the business as well. The women went as far as saying I was lying. I know what happened but she does not and would not listen. She even hung up on me. They owe and I intend to get what is owed to me so I can go a true dentist. I actually have no complaints about the others that work there even though some I feel don't understand either. I only gave 1 star. In my initial visit the business manager did a terrible job not explaining their billing. Then they want you to pay up front for services. My second appointment consisted of only cleaning half of my mouth. They claimed I needed deep cleaning, which I did not. They charged me for "extras" (electric toothbrush,fluoride gel)without asking if I needed them. Now I am trying to obtain a final bill to see what else they charged me for. They deserve no stars My wife came in last year around April and started the procedure for replacing broken teeth and missing teeth they did extraction of the rest of the teeth that she had gave her dentures that she couldn't wear and refused to fix it and every time she had a problem they just told her that she needed to do more salt water rinses. Then after multiple visits with no results they discharge her as a patient and billed me for procedures that were not done and procedures that are still incomplete. Their level of patient care is horrible all they care about is getting some money out of you and then getting rid of you as quick as they can. They don't return your phone calls they refuse to fix any issues that you have with the billing even when it's brought to light and you fight it with the insurance and the finance company. So for the past 10 months my wife has been miserable she can't eat properly loss of self-confidence she has no teeth and it's going to take 20+ thousand dollars to fix the problems that Aspen created. My advice would be to stay as far away from these people as you they're like the used car dealer of dental treatment. read more

My first phone call was to inquire about the cost of a cleaning prior to ever scheduling an appointment. Cost $$84 First visit I was told in advance the cleaning would be. $84. At Checkout was charged $84. My 2nd cleaning I assumed would be the same as the first. No mention was made at check in. nor at ANY time. Upon check-out a payment of $187 was demanded! While my actual "dental care" has been uncomplicated and comfortable, the business services here gets worse every Interaction I have. After years without dental coverage and going long past when my wisdom teeth should come out, I finally had coverage and came here because They were "in network." While I don't have a ton of experience with billing stuff, I came with severe pain and anxious to get my teeth out ASAP. My appointments got scheduled and they put me on a payment plan (because who has $4000 sitting around for dental surgery/care to pay up front)? While it was said, it was minimized that the payment plan I was on, was for all planned work (oral surgery, cleanings, fillings, exams, etc.). I haven't ever seen a breakdown/itemized billing receipt. But, without many other options I proceeded and figured I'd just buckle down and make the payments and appointments to get it done. Instead, I have found myself incredibly frustrated, as twice in a row now, my scheduled (well in advance) appointments for work with the Dentist have been cancelled within 30minutes of my appointment. There have been no alternatives offered to try to see another provider or anything other than to "reschedule." I work night shift and scheduling appointments is difficult as is but I schedule them when I can and expect to get the work done that I am paying for. I feel stuck and a little bamboozled by there business model/practices. If you have other options available to you, I recommend you pursue those and avoid Aspen Dental if you can help it. read more

My New patient ( 3/16 emergency visit) the staff on this date was Awesome! Although I was feeling bad and rescheduled my extraction so the antibiotics could take effect, I was really annoyed sitting another 20 minutes to do a dental outline for future work. (By the way..I didnt receive a Breakdown of the plan offered ) But ...the visit I just had today (3/20)??. OMG. I arrived early 255pm (appt 330pm with three text message and prior call for reminders) My husband made my payment and I sat an additional 25 minites past appt time. No problem. The assistant came took me to the room and was professional and courteous. This is what made me Angry...the unprofessional, no bedside manner, I hope "dentist" NEVER greeted me or introduced himself! I spoke to HIM!!!!!. He told me he was doing the the injection to numb me and said " let that take effect for a few minutes" and walked out! He returned and said " you may feel pressure" NEVER asked me how I was feeling, never made eye contact with me. Extracted my tooth and said " the assistant will give you some instructions" and again walked out!! Really??!!....I was a CDA years ago...and this is unacceptable for me. Perhaps I was a simple extraction today but I have a complete dental plan and vision and want to invest in myself and dental visits and now I refuse to spend my money in this office. I give no stars to Aspen dental. I lost my partial and was hesitant to go to a new dentist, but they offer in their advertising quick turnaround because they have a lab on site where they can make dentures. I'm a cancer patient and I've been through a lot in the past couple of years with chemo radiation and multiple surgeries and I have to admit my mouth is a mess. They immediately started talking to me about implants and sent me to a guy named Rory who talked money. He offered me $30,000 worth of implants with a $300 a month payment. Something I just cannot afford with another surgery coming up. I explained that I do a lot of fundraisers here and had an event coming up which was going to be all over social media and in the papers. I wanted to replace my partial and then talk about getting extended dental care later on when I was done with the surgery and cancer treatment. He said he would call me back in weeks went by. I called the office and the girl who answered the phone immediately started to upsell me with more expensive treatments that I can't afford right now. She got Rory on the phone and he immediately started talking to me about more expensive cosmetic dentistry that I can't afford. I reiterated that I really just wanting to replace my partial at this time and he began throwing numbers out. First he said he could do some of my cosmetic dentistry now and some next year and some the year after. Then he told me that there was a two-year limit on cosmetic dentistry. Then he gave me two different prices for my partial. I told him I really needed to know what the price was and he said he would call me back. Another week went by and I hadn't heard from him. The long and short of it is I'm doing my event with no teeth and I have nothing good to say about Aspen dental. Unless you want to purchase their top-of-the-line cosmetic dental devices, they just don't seem to have the time of day for you. He also suggested to me more than once that I should just go somewhere else if I didn't like the way they were treating me. I would recommend to anyone that they begin their dental treatments somewhere else rather than dealing with Aspen dental. read more

DON'T GO NEAR ASPEN DENTAL!!!! They are such a rip-off. First, I went for the exam and treatment. I was told by the hygenist that I needed an extensive cleaning with antibiotic implants in my upper left quadrant and two crowns. My treatment plan was over $3500. I paid 1330 cash, they billed my dental and dental plus insurance. The temporary crown came off daily. I went 3 times to have it replaced. I just kept coming off. The office management was very rude and at one point did not want to give me appointment She told me to call another office. After I asked for a refund, then the dentist was willing to see me. The crown lasted one day. Now the permament crown is so ill-fitting that theleft side of my face is swollen and I can barely open my mouth. Don't go near this place.. Where do I even begin? When I first got there the tech took me to the back for X-ray 's where she informed me that they don't clean your teeth the same day they do your exam. She said they examine you to determine what kind of cleaning you need. My whole purpose for this visit was a cleaning and exam.. Red flags started going off in my head. Then I saw the dentist. Well she told me that I needed a whole bunch of things done. A deep cleaning(which insurance doesn't cover) because otherwise all of my teeth would fall out. When I told her that I had never heard of such a thing she said my 2 previous dentists had done me a total disservice. Then even though I had no cavities she wanted to do 5 fillings I guess another way to prevent my teeth from falling out?? Well the flags were on fire at that point. I then told her all I wanted was a regular cleaning. She then we'll see. WTH??? I then had to sit down with a finance person to go over all of the things I needed and the cost. And the millions of ways they could rip off myself and the insurance company. Needless to say I left angry and frustrated and never got the cleaning I wanted. So since I'm never going back to Aspen I now have to schedule a cleaning with my old dentist. Which is more time off of work. My wife and i had our first check up here. We have never used Aspen dental before, nor have we heard anything about them, or knew anyone that has. She chose to go to this location because no one in the photo was creepy looking. when we left, we felt amazing! we both agreed that we had the best dentist experiences of our lives. The staff, are happy to see you, they are fun, and they make it a point to take care of you. They call ahead of time to see greet you and see what goals or issues that you have. The first time i met Aaron he was super energetic, respectful and very attentive to my needs and made the X-rays go by painlessly. I hate having to do X-rays...and when he got me situated in the room he was very informative about was happening. Dr. Haase is also full of energy and made the experience enjoyable. She was very careful when she was conducting my checkup and was very informative. Rory was super helpful and broke down the costs and personally looked at everything with us. We walked out of the office super satisfied and felt like we had a whole staff of friends. I was VERY disappointed when I left this dental office. I called on Friday in need for an extraction of a packed tooth that was so painful, I hadn't eaten in 2 days. I told the guy that I didn't have dental insurance and wanted to know how much it would be and if they had any payment plans. I was told over the phone that they have several different payment plans and options for people without insurance and options for people with little to no income. And if this would be my first visit, exrays and exam would be free. I asked him if they would be able to remove the tooth on Monday and after he said yes, I scheduled appointment. The same guy called Saturday to check on me and to confirm Monday's appointment. Got there today (Monday) and everything went fine until they took the cotton bib off of me and sent me to speak with the guy in billing/financing. He asked a few questions that I answered and as I was asking him about the payment options, he then explained to me that I now have been accepted for credit of $3,000 for a dental card so I can get all of my dental work done and only have to pay $100 a month. I was not aware of him applying for a credit line for me and had I known, I would not have allowed it. I am currently working with a realtor to purchase a home and had just gotten my credit exactly where I needed it to be. I explained that to him and ask why would they not tell people of what they're doing and I also told him what the guy on the phone told me. He says, "Well, that guy only works in the call center so he doesn't really know. And this won't affect your credit". Which is totally not true. Right after he applied, I got an alert from Credit Karma asking about a recent inquiry on my account wanting to know if I'm aware of it. This credit line works exactly like a credit card in which I already have and didn't want to use until after the purchase of my home. I'm not sure if this is against the law but you shouldn't do things like this and not ask the patient beforehand because you don't know what they have going on. And I missed the opportunity to visit another office today because of the time that was wasted there. read more
