What's great about Dr. C & Nancy is the team they deliberately built around them. It feels like family, and I mean that in the sense of the "traditional families" God gave each of us and the "non-traditional families" we tend to build around us. In particular, I need to praise Tasha, who has cleaned my teeth for years. Here are a few words to describe Tasha: competent, proactive, kind, and warm...bottom line is she cares about her clients. Next, I need to praise Teena, the office manager. She is the last person you see on your way out the door. Teena promotes goodwill in everything she does, advocating for each client. Teena & Tasha are two of the threads woven into the cloth that is Modern Family Dentistry. There seem to be many other good people here; I just talked about the two I interact with regularly. I highly recommend Chris Chadwick's Modern Family Dentistry.

My mouth is so sensitive that I have had horrible experiences with ever dentist I have been to. I don't get numb enough so when they start drilling it is very painful. Also, I will feel pain for a week just from the numbing shots. It scares me so much that I put off going despite the severe tooth pain i was experiencing. One day it got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I called into this office because it was the closest to my house and luckily I was able to get a same day apt. I was so scared I brought my husband with me for support. The lady at the front desk greeted me by name and I was brought right back to a chair. Grace talked me through everything and made me very comfortable. I explained to her my bad experiences in the past and how scared I was. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and offered me nitrous, which I gladly accepted after finding out I would need a root canal. The lady who had to give me multiple numbing shots had a special trick that made them completely painless, even one on the roof of my mouth. The dentist was the nicest one I have ever met. He walked me through the entire thing. I was completely at ease. It went by so quick and painlessly. I have hear horrible stories about root canals and how painful they are but this one was easier than any cavity filling I have had. I cannot even explain how relieved I am to have found Modern Family Dentistry and how comfortable I am to go back for future dental work.

First of all I had the best experience with the front desk- Nina. She told me everything I needed from my insurance company and each time I sent her an email with my x-rays from my dentist in California she would immediately write me right back. She was on point ever single communication. My first impression was sealed. Then I arrive on the day of my apt. It's a really nice comfortable waiting area (clean!) and a nice area for procedures, cleanings, etc. I was lucky enough to get Brenda on this day. Wow. She was very thorough and also let me know we new customers get fitted for whitening trays on our first visit for FREE! What!? It's like Christmas. Do you know how expensive those things are?! I hope to get Brenda every time. She was also very gentle and just in general cool to talk to. Then it was my time with Dr. Adams. What a great experience. He was VERY thorough and took ample time with me and listened to all my fears from my previous doctors visits. He let me know if I was "his sister" then this is what he would recommend to her... I was/am sold. He is totally knowledgable and I knew he was being straight with me and not trying to up-sell me. Upon leaving I went ahead and made my next 6 month cleaning visit and also went ahead and scheduled that new crown. My former dentist made me feel like I needed to hurry and get this done but here I learned I could wait but not too long- I felt like I trusted this office enough that I wanted it done there and why wait? Also a shout out to the nice lady, I didn't catch her name, when I left. She checked me out and was ready for me with the paperwork I needed and walked me through everything. Are you kidding me? EVERY SINGLE PERSON I CAME INTO CONTACT WITH WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD HAVE HOPED FOR! I will continue to come here and make this my home dentist. I 100% recommend this office if you are new to town. You will feel like you are in good hands with honest people who clearly know what they are doing. I promise I'm not related to any of them, lol. That's just how good I felt about the whole visit!!!

My husband's recent fractured tooth brought us to Casey Bennett, DMD and staff at TGD's North Charleston office on a day that the Mt. P location was closed. Although visiting the dentist is not on our top 10 enjoyable things to do, the experience at each office from check-in to completion could not have been better. Both Dr. Painter, IV, Dr. Bennett and their staffs were knowledgeable, professional, courteous and empathetic to both my husband's and my dental needs. It's comforting to know that the practice has three locations (one in Summerville, too) to meet the general dentistry needs of their patients and work together to provide seamless services.

He's done a ton with the practice from upgrading equipment to opening new locations. They're even open on Saturday's which is a huge perk for me. The staff is always nice and welcoming, too. I've been coming in Saturday's for probably almost 2 years now, and I see Dr. Spence Gibbs. He is seriously the nicest guy ever. He's ensures that you're comfortable and you're made to feel like you're his only patient of the day. I recently had an old filling redone, and I had absolutely no idea that Dr. Gibbs had even given me a shot. Yes, you read that right. I couldn't feel a thing! He's that good. He does meticulous work and instead of that awkward bite on this film, everything is good to go (which inevitably leaves you saying, no my bite doesn't feel right can you fix it? Which happens over and over), he did everything on his own. So when he was done, it was perfect! I've never experienced that before. Trident never oversells anything and they're upfront with pricing. They also do their own dental insurance plan, and have a whitening for life plan to get your teeth pearly white. I highly recommend Trident, Dr. Layton, and Dr. Gibbs!

Almost immediately, I was told I needed multiple root canals, which was overwhelming to hear without much discussion or explanation. I had mentioned that one molar was causing me pain, and an appointment was scheduled for treatment without clearly confirming it with me first. Since I don't currently have insurance, I was then quoted around $4,000 for treatment on a single tooth. That was extremely stressful and felt out of reach financially. I ended up getting a second opinion elsewhere, where the tooth was simply extracted for $89. That experience made me question whether my concerns and financial situation were truly being considered here. I would have appreciated more compassion, clearer communication, and a willingness to discuss affordable options instead of feeling pressured into expensive procedures. I'm sure this office helps many people, but my personal experience left me disappointed and I hope you can work on that!
