Receptionist has the personality of dog food. Appointment at 8:30, still haven't seen the dentist at 9:30. This office is the worse.

They really take the time to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of. What I really appreciated is that they speak Spanish, which made everything so much easier for my mom. She felt seen, acknowledged, and truly cared for. The staff made sure she was fully informed about everything, and she left the appointment with no questions or confusion. That kind of attention and respect means so much. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dental team. They go above and beyond! I initially went to Aspen Dental to get information on dentures and the cost thereof. I only wanted…read moreto find out the price, and possibly set up some sort of an arrangement where I could prepay before the procedure and after I had paid completely then have the procedure done. I found that the office people that I was dealing with struggled with English, and I had much trouble trying to convey to the person that I was dealing with what it was I was seeking. She insisted that the only way that could be done was to take advantage of their financing. I told her that I really didn't want to finance them but she insisted that was the only way it could be done. I left the office without signing the finance agreement and told the lady as best I could that I needed to think about it. A couple of days later I got a call from the district supervisor for Aspen and he encouraged me to come back in and get the process started. He was very informed and quite friendly. I Returned several days later for x-rays. In all, over the entire process I had four series of x-rays. Two of the procedures were painful. They eventually identified six teeth that needed to be pulled and appointments were made. When I went for my first actual procedure, the extractions, I was dismayed when the dentist told me that they were going to pull four teeth. And I said what about the other teeth? She replied that that's the only ones they had identified. This prompted another series of x-rays and they confirmed that there were six teeth that needed to be extracted. That was a little bit distressing to know that they didn't even know how many teeth they were going to pull. I had requested that I would be given gas , and was informed of the extra $75 charge for that. I agreed to that. However, when the procedure started and the dentist placed the gas mask over my face and told me to inhale, I found that I couldn't pull any air out of the gas mask. I pulled the mass aside to tell her that and she tried to hold the gas mask over my face. Eventually she got the message and her and her assistant made some adjustments to the tank and pressed the gas mask over my face again and it was the same as the first time. There was no air that could be pulled out of the mass no matter how hard I tried to inhale. This happened again then as they struggled with adjusting the tanks and such. But the dentist would press the gas mask hard against my face and I could not get any air. I felt like I was suffocating or being suffocated. They took the gas tanks out of the room and came back later and said they had it fixed. This time. I could pull air out of it after having been suffocated three times, but I could tell that what I was breathing was not anything other than air. The dentist talked entirely during the procedure telling me about her days in college and all of her friends. I guess this was to distract me from the fact that I wasn't being administered gas. The teeth were pulled, impressions were made, and I returned to the office for my initial fitting for the dentures. They were not even close to fitting. They made some adjustments to them in the office and sent me home. A week later I went in for another fitting, this time it was a different dentist. He asked me immediately if I had had a severe overbite when I came in and I told him no. He said that the dentures were not correct and he would remake them. It was the lower dentures that did not fit and after another week I received My dentures. This being my first time with dentures I really did not know what to expect but I really thought that they should fit better. I lived with it. I had to use a lot of denture adhesive to keep them in, and they were prone to coming loose all the time. After having these dentures for a while, the lower dentures actually broke in my mouth with very sharp pointed pieces. I was hesitant to go back to Aspen because of the way I was treated the first time so I went to a different dentist. My insurance paid for the first $1,000 to fix the lower dentures, but that still left me with almost $500. More to pay to have these 1-year-old dentures repaired. I was charged for gas even though I maintain. I never ever got gas. I think their tanks were empty and rather than told me that they didn't have any gas, she just decided to give me Oxygen and proceed with the procedure. I had the impression that the dentist that did this was new. I am sure that Aspen Dental probably has some very good dentist there, however, this was not my experience. I would be fearful to return to Aspen Dental myself. This may not be a big factor but the office had a Christmas tree up and it was almost May. I would not recommend this Aspen Dental in Plant City to anybody else. I am still paying for the dentures that I got at Aspen, and they have broken twice.

I was greeted by Office Manager Steve Campbell and knew immediately that I had made the right choice. His customer service and professionalism are a real credit to Aspen Dental. From Stephanie looking up my insurance plan to the hygienist, X-ray technician and dental assistant, I became aware that I was in the hands of a professional staff. Perhaps the most rewarding experience was the time that Dr. Merchi took to explain with X-rays and plaster casts the complete procedure I was ready to receive. Aspen Dental sets the bar for other dental practices to follow. I look forward to my follow up appointment.

Stay away! Keep your family away! Do not trust this place for anything!!…read more Aspen Dental is one of the biggest scams I have seen in years, and this office in Sun City is awful! First of all, my 73-year-old mother went in to see a dentist for an infected tooth because they claimed to accept walk-ins. After giving them her insurance information, they scheduled an appointment for her to come back. The 2nd visit was nothing more than x-rays, the doctor confirming she had an infected tooth (along with numerous other problems that they could also fix for her), and more paperwork for a loan to get all this work done. No antibiotics, no offer of anything to help her that day... nothing. Just another appointment and instructions to bring $75 as a down payment. For the third appointment, she gave them her $75, filled out even more paperwork, and was then told she gave her money to the wrong person in the office and would have to give them another $75. They refunded the original $75 after a few days, but she didn't have another $75 in her checking account so offered cash (which they would not accept). She left the office in tears, called their corporate headquarters in Chicago and asked for someone in charge to which the answering gentleman responded by hanging up on her. She tried 3 more times, was hung up on twice more, and they wouldn't even answer the fourth call. After leaving a few reviews to warn people away, my next step is to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the American Dental Association.

We had an x-ray done and they sold me that I needed a deep cleaning. I ended up agreeing, even though it seemed strange to me that it was going to cost me $1600+ just for 2 cleanings and an appointment with their endodontist to find out what was causing the pain. They had me pre pay that amount. Keep in mind this is with insurance, my wife on the same plan had a free cleaning, but mine was far more expensive, lasted about 15 mins per session and in no way seemed to be worth $1600. I saw the specialist and she couldn't tell me why I had the pain, I might have a crack, might be able to do a crown or just pull the tooth. They quoted me some procedures, but I passed. By the time I saw the endodontist the pain had abated. Then about a month later they started sending me bills.. this is after they told me everything was taken care of. The first bill was over $900, then they brought it down to $430. I called multiple times to get it resolved, and they told me that they were still working with insurance. The last time I called they admitted that they had charged twice for an x-ray and insurance wasn't covering it. As I explained to them, insurances don't pay when you double bill. That is not a legal practice and that they should fix it. I tried to resolve this with them three times from the corporate number and the site. They are still sending bills, I am not sure why. I am already upset at myself for paying the $1600 for a cleaning and a consultation. I can't believe this place ripped me off already tremendously and is trying to keep doing it since my insurance won't pay for their fraud. I am still awaiting resolution, but I would not recommend giving Aspen Dental your business.
