My new dentist has discovered that all my crowns and work that Aspen has done previously was completely done wrong and everything has to be redone every single thing. So my hundreds if not thousands of dollars spent and many hours spent in an uncomfortable environment is now all down the toilet, plus they charge $150 to get my X-rays and records forwarded to my new five star dentist apparently they turn them over your records to corporate so I'm not really happy about that my records being in some random location. Run as far away from this place before you get royally screwed over as I did!!! I'm super pissed and will definitely never ever recommend you to go here! read more

Waited over 45 minutes for a 10 am Friday appointment. I have a regular dentist, but I came in for a "no cost" aligner consultation. The technician said they would be doing x-rays and I said that's not ok because my regular dentist has taken them in the last year. After waiting that long, the payment person gives me major attitude about having the x-rays sent over and they have to be high enough quality or they will have to take them again. All of this could have been covered in the online intake. I'm not a big fan of corporate dental places. I was treated like a drive-thru patient at the last one. That's why I have a dentist with a private practice and I've had the same dentist and hygienist for the last 6 years. In this case, Delta offers a lower-cost Dentist-monitored aligner option. Awful. There was no communication between the staff. Started treating for something without even looking or asking what was wrong.

I went for a 6 month check up and cleaning which my insurance covers at 100%. The nice dentist examined my teeth, did some X-rays,but never cleaned my teeth. I was then taken to the business ,to tell me my portion to pay was over $300. They claimed it was for some high level cleaning. Which I said , no other dentist offered this unessisary service. I then arranged for 2 implants. The initial price was over 10 grand ,which magically came down to $7319.00, of which I paid half to cover the first half of the procedure. I was to wait 6 months than pay the second half to complete the crowns. Mysteriously, I began receiving bill, that contained a $185 discrepancy. I made a couple payments with a note that the balance was incorrect. Then before I was even supposed to pay anything I was sent to collections. In conclusion, Aspen dental is nothing short of a criminal enterprise, and you need to stay away from this SCAM operation and RUN ,RUN,RUN. Business agent was supposed to call to straighten this out, but never did. They are all involved with the deceptive scam. I have since arranged for a reputable dentist to finish the procedure. Where do I begin? I wrote a review back in 2019 about how horrible the Abingdon Aspen practice was and have not been back to that location since early 2020, but looking back at my review I realize I did not do justice to how bad an experience was as it continued to get worse. Dr. Williams should be sued for malpractice - I had two front teeth that were damaged with cavities and he convinced me that I had to get all four front teeth pulled and a bridge put it. It cost me thousands upon thousands, and the billing kept changing. Granted, COVID happened in early 2020 but there was a complete lack of follow up care to the point that I had to involve corporate, and the manager of that location at the time threatened to discharge me because I was understandably upset at the lack of care. Five years later and I've been consistently going to Aspen in Elkton, MD since 2020, which is notably better, but looking back I can't help but mourn how horrid my experience was, and how I should have done more to advocate for myself and my dental care. I've been loosing bone mass in my chin because of the unnecessary procedure and bridge, and will eventually have to look into costly bone transfusion and dental implants to retain my facial appearance. I will never get back what Dr. Williams and Aspen Dental Abingdon took, and even after all these years it still brings me to tears what he had done to me. I would never recommend this place, and wish I could have told my past self to advocate for myself and not just settle because Dr. Williams told me to. What he did has changed my life for the worst, and he can't take that back. I write this updated review years later (and in light of my weakening jaw/chin bone) in hopes of emphasizing to unsuspecting patients to stay away from this location and Dr. Williams at all costs. Avoid. I sought quick dental care due to a broken wisdom tooth causing significant pain and Aspen was able to schedule an appoint the next day unlike other providers contacted. I went to the appointment, had many x-rays, my gums thoroughly measured and checked, and finally a dentist examined my mouth. I was then advised that an office representative would call me to go over my "dental plan" and the dentist then asked if there was anything else she could do. I said, "yes, what about my painful tooth--the reason I came in?" She looked at it, prescribed antibiotics and pain medication and I was told an office representative would call me. Over two hours were spent in the Aspen dental office for the first (and only) visit. No representative called for a couple days, and I then called and left voice messages. After five days having not heard back from Aspen, I independently called an oral surgeon to have the broken wisdom tooth extracted and I still have not received a follow-up call from Aspen Dental though I no longer need it. read more

Now that I am home I am about to give you a full fledged piece of my mind. I could understand not being able to pull a tooth due to not being fully staffed on a Saturday Schedule to come in the following week I could begrudgingly understand not being able to pull a tooth due to your internet being down. Not that I'm a fan of everything being stored online! Never heard about my son's erd appointment. So I called to confirm it. Waiting 45 minutes to be seen past the apopintment time, to sit another 15 minutes to be told I need to "sign a consent form" when in truth that wasn't it at all. You expect a person with aspergers (a form of autism) to be able to point to a tooth that he can't see that may not be in pain right now due to being on atibiotics and anti-inflammitories and point to the right one. So if he points to the wrong tooth you aren't liable for taking out the wrong tooth. Furthermore, then I get put in a freezing room and told you need to rework a treatment plan........ Over 2 freaking hours later NOTHING done You originally tell us you are referring us to an oral surgeon! Then you had me a flipping piece of paper and tell me to contact my dental insurance company to get the name of the oral surgeorn and they can contact you for the xrays and records. Um... right now I wouldn't trust you to watch my cat. You wasted close to 3 hours of my day off, to be told you can't do squat diddly do. Will I come back? Maybe if Hell freezes over. What, was it that the 18,000 treatment plan was out of my price range. Was it the fact I turned down credit to do a root canal and a crown. Wait is it that fact that I'm fat and ugly and dont' portray the look of someone you want in your office. Wait, is it because my son is asperger's/autistic? Or is it just because Dr. Williams did not really want to work today.........I've seen a couple other people who seem to say that he doesn't have the best "bedside manner". YOu can' be damn sure that I am glad I did not cave to your pressure to make an appointment for my daughter who has more problems than he does. And you can be damn sure that anyone who asks me about Aspen Dental WILL BE A BIG FAT HELL NO. My husband had an appointment in the Abingdon, MD office on 4.3.23 for tooth pain. He saw the dentist (?) they took x-rays - and they could not tell what the issue was. they said one thing - and before he left - the dentist?? said their office manager would call him back with results - as they were not in the office that day. well ,,, here it is 4 days later - and no phone call back. husband called back again today - they were to call him back - and there has been no phone call. it's supposed to be easy to get an appointment - which it was - kind of - they are absolutely horrible. I would NOT recommend this office to anyone. perhaps other offices treat patients with respect - but why, for all that is questionable should an office manager call with the results of a dental exam. My experience with Aspen Dental was a nightmare. The Abingdon office is incompetent with shady if not fraudulent business practices. During my first visit I saw the dentist and then was sent to financing. There I was told the total of ALL work discussed was $2600. While sitting with the finance manager I applied and was approved for Care Credit. I asked her again if this included all work and she looked through her file again and noticed it did not include a cleaning. She disappeared out of sight for a moment or two. She came back and told me because it was her error she was authorized to give a $500 credit, bringing to total of all work to $2100. At this time they submitted a $1500 charge to Care Credit. If they do not reverse this charge I will contact a lawyer. My first appointment was made for 7:30 am for a cleaning. This office is nearly an hour from me. On the day of the scheduled appointment, as I am walking through the parking lot, my phone is ringing. As I enter the building the receptionist tells me I was just calling you to let you know we need to reschedule the cleaning. The hygienist did not come into work. She then proceeds to tell me that she thought about calling but didn't want to call my house so early. Now, mind you, I am an hour away with a 7:30 appointment, how early is too early. She called while I was walking through the parking lot! I rescheduled the appointment for the following Monday and on Thursday I get a call from them informing me the appointment needs to be rescheduled again because they scheduled an appointment with the hygienist on their day off. I should of run at this point, but I didn't. Today I went in for the cleaning and we were supposed to do impressions. After the cleaning they had me wait to talk to finance, once again which I thought was odd. This has already been done. I was then informed by the "new" finance manager that there was an error made by the "old" finance manager and the new total for the work I was having done is $4900. This is the most shady, incompetent practice i have seen. To make a treatment plan and have the financing in place only for it to be some kind of scam. This should be illegal! AVOID!!! I had pain in my one tooth and went in October 2018. I sat for 2 hours before anyone would see me in horrific pain. They told me I needed a root canal and scheduled me to come in a week later to get it fixed. I came in and the "endodontist" spent over an hour in my mouth and ended up sending me home telling me I need to go to a specialist. They never gave me a list, so my husband found me one that had great reviews online. I went and the specialist fixed as he said, "the mess aspen endodontist created." He told me how Aspen broke the tooth more and made it harder for him to fix but luckily did. The specialist made me aware of a broken tooth and two cavities I would need to go back to aspen and fix. I went back to aspen to get the cap and after they told me I they would do it for free (probably because they knew they broke my tooth) they insisted I was lying and told me to pay or leave. When I threw a fit in the office, they finally did it. I told them that the endodontist notices a broken tooth and cavities, Aspen looked and said I was fine. I should have trusted my gut, but I took their word. Fast forward to last year where another tooth (next to where I already had a root canal) was in pain. I went to another dentist this time and they said I needed another root canal because the cavity (I told them about) has now cracked and rotted the tooth. The new family dentist made me aware of the fact that the tooth Aspen did a filling on they cracked more and that I had another tooth with a cavity that if they didn't catch it and fill it, it would have gotten just as bad. My new dentist told me that Aspen is very ruthless with this and will let your teeth rot and cause more damage to your teeth to up the charge to your insurance and charge you crazy out of pocket fees. On top of that!!! Aspen had the nerve to send to my house a bill for over $300 for charges that are covered under my insurance. When I called my insurance, they told me Aspen refused to send the code which is why they are charging me. This place is crazy, and I will never return. Now I am out $100's on dental work I never needed when I first came to them in 2018. Aspen refuses to talk to me directly and once I am able, I may have to file a small claim to see if I can get my money back. They will also be reported to the BBB for their flat our neglect. Aspen Dental is the worst dental office I've ever dealt with. A couple months ago, I was able to make an appt for xrays and a cleaning. When I arrived, I waited 40 minutes before I was called back. I got xrays done and was placed in room. The dentist eventually came and looked over my xrays. Then I waited an additional 30 minutes to be told that the hygienist had left early and I would have to reschedule for a cleaning. They also told me that I would have to pay another copayment when I reschedule my cleaning. The only reason I went there was for a teeth cleaning; they could have notified me before I got there that the hygienist had left instead of wasting my day off and money! Since my dental insurance doesn't offer many options, I just called to see if I could schedule an appt for a cleaning and the phone numbers provided on their website won't even connect me to a person. I went in on the 16th to have my Impressions done for my dentures. As with my initial consultation the experience was great!!! Dr. Christopher Williams DMD and the rest of the staff we're wonderful. On the 23rd I came back for my initial fitting and they were perfect!!! I'll get my permanent dentures on the 8th and I'm sure just like my experience at Aspen Dental they will be perfect. Today makes the second time at Aspen dental in Dundalk that I've had an issue I've felt very uncomfortable and Aspen dental judged me and took it way too far! What dentist tells u she's going to call the police on u and won't see u no more bc I was using a high voice to talk bc without my denture that's now broken again bc of Aspen dental this time tho. I was very upset today after getting my soft liner am I done sure when I got my dentures back they were broke they were broke in a position that they were fixed in previously by the dentist the same dentist that I had to deal with today when they put the denture in my mouth I noticed that they were broke I took them right back out immediately in the office in the waiting room and told them something was wrong with them the doctor had the nerve to tell me that they didn't break it on this time it's my fault and they're not replacing it and I have to pay for it when it's covered in the price that they originally give you and I've already paid for the services the doctor wanted me to pay for a new soft liner which is free included in my services that I've already paid for and wanted me to pay for the repair of my temporary denture that I did not have broken when I went in office this morning it was broken after they gave it back to me. The doctor threatened me twice to call the police on me for getting loud with them because I was so upset crying and pissed off that they were trying to send me out the door with a broken denture that's worse than what it was when I came in the door with it. After the doctor threatened me twice with the police I had enough!! I walked out the door still yelling and called corporate. Well that didn't seem to go over too well either bc In order for the other Aspen office to see me I had to pay $610.00. A past due balance of $210 and $400 down on my permanent bottom partial denture. They wouldn't even put in a new soft liner for me today without making a payment and I already made a payment at the Abington office before I had left. So when I got to the White Marsh office they told me they weren't going to see me unless I had paid the past due balance off and half of the down payment for my permanent bottom teeth my full top denture is already paid for it's been paid for for 2 years. The Abingdon office is horrible even the staff there is not all that great the secretary always has an attitude and is ignorant to you unless she knows you personally then she's nice as pie to you! As for the doctor she needs to learn how to talk to people better and handle situations better than she did today. I had the worst fear going to the White Marsh office today after being judged and threatened by the doctor at the Abingdon office then she banned me from the Abingdon office for being "loud" about my issues. Of course I raised my voice with them I was very extremely upset and they were trying to get over on me and play me for a fool. I have a right to speak my mind and make a complaint about the poor unprofessional judgemental and ridiculous dental office i was at bc my adjustments are included in the amount of $4900.00 I've already paid! So I don't quite understand what or where the issue was with the doctor but she needs to find another job. Dr. Butcher I believe her name is!! Very unprofessional and should be fired!! I had so much anxiety going to the White Marsh office this afternoon it was ridiculous!!! When I booked the appointment, I stated it was for a cleaning. Well the hygienist is apparently off on Fridays, so I went in just for X-rays and an exam. I had to schedule a cleaning for next week. I would have rather got it all done at once. The dentist that saw me (Williams) wasn't very personable. He just seemed like he wanted to get out of there. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back. I highly recommend Aspen Dental and a I especially recommend Dr. Chris Williams. He is the absolute best. I've been going to Dr. Williams for atleast 8 years now, I've followed him from office to office because of it and I have always found consistency in great care and service throughout locations from him and the other staff members. I have always hated going to the dentist until I found him. Now I won't let anyone else near my teeth. Dr. Williams always communicates my issue and/or procedure in a way that I can understand and always gives me multiple options for treatment. I dont have insurance and the rates never seem outrageous like other places. In case you are wondering I have had multiple teeth pulled, cleanings, caps partial dentures and implants done all thru them and have had no problems or complaints. In fact for the implants to be done I had 5 teeth removed and never had to use any pain medications. My gums healed perfectly and I was in and out. read more

I only gave this place one star because it was required. If I could I would rate this place negative twenty stars. They botched my root canal and did not place a long enough crown. I had to go to another place to get the root canal done again. My insurance had already paid Aspen and now they are HARASSING ME, calling me four to five times a day saying that I never paid them. My insurance company has proof of payment. I should have never paid for these rude people to ruin my mouth and cause me to have more surgery than need. I like this place so close to my house, quick reliable service you have to pay 60 percent of the total of your you treatment in order to get it started, my only complain is that they "test drive me" with a new oral b brush series 9000 and when I paid for it end up giving me an older version that don't cost the money they charge for it read more

I absolutely love Aspen Dental!! I used to hate going to the dentist so much that I waited until I couldn't anymore. I had a horrible phobia, was beyond scared. Dr. Williams was so kind and down to earth from the get go that he made me feel so comfortable and that I was in good hands. He has an awesome personality and sense of humor and has given me a beautiful smile and he always goes out of his way to make sure that I'm happy with the results. Steer clear of this Aspen Dental office. There was a time when the service was exceptional but sadly that time has passed. I had Invisalign brackets placed on my teeth on a Wednesday and on Thursday that dentist left the practice. They had no other dentist who was Invisalign certified - a fact I was not aware of. It took 3 weeks and several phone calls, leaving messages etc... to be able to get in and have the brackets removed. Now trying to get my full refund for the service has been a nightmare. They pick up the phone and put you on hold immediately without even saying hello, leave you on hold for hours, never return phone calls when you are able to leave a message. Finally, I see a partial refund made to my credit card.....but wait....then I get a bill in the mail a week later charging me for the amount they just refunded!!! This location needs to close it's doors. It's a disaster I hope to help others avoid. read more

Possibly a case for Insurance fraud. I can't express how disappointed I was. In short, I felt they had NO interest in the patient's concerns, only finding things they could bill the insurance for. I called and could not even get past being put on hold forever. I drove up to make an appointment for a CLEANING. I have a family member 90 minutes away who is a dentist; he does all my real dental work. I knew I only needed a cleaning. They setup an appointment on 8/28/2019. I went in and was eventually sent back to a tech for a ridiculous number of x-rays (I think 8), then a full "3D image scan of my teeth." After all the preliminary BS I was sent out - no teeth cleaning! They informed me I had a "patient's first visit appointment" and they would see if they could now fit me in with a hygienist. I never authorized or was even made aware of this scam until it was done. I did finally get my teeth cleaned! The Dentist came in for about 90 seconds and I mentioned some very miner issues I wanted addressed like a sharp point on a vernier I wanted smoothed. He did nothing and left. Again I was sent out, this time to sign off for the insurance bill. $1500 - really, for teeth cleaning. I bumped in to my neighbor who happened to be there at the same time. They quoted him $10,000 to have his fillings done! He has no insurance. If your interest is not dental care but you think your insurance needs to pay for unneeded services, go right in. read more

Never Ever again. I waited to be seen, got an x-ray, waited to see the doctor, then waited again for the dental hygienist who said I needed my teeth cleaned but had to wait in another room for the office manager who will tell me if they have time to clean my teeth. The office manage said they can squeeze me in but I have to wait & pay a 5.00 co-pay & I can pay am extra 56 for fluoride cleaning. I came in for a new patient appointment with teeth cleaning, my appointment was at 8:30 it is now 9:53 and I am still sitting in the waiting area waiting to get my teeth cleaned. This office has no respect for the value of their patient's time. On my initial visit, I waited over an hour before I was taken into a room to wait another 30 minutes. I was then told they were understaffed and would have to reschedule my appointment because they were so far behind. I have arrived early for appointments, signed in and waited almost 45 minutes, only to be told that they were waiting for paperwork from their Owings Mills office, and someone would have to call me to reschedule my appointment once they received what they were waiting for from Owings Mills office. They only told me this after I asked how much longer I would have to wait. I had an appointment scheduled for a Friday at 11 am and was called by their office and they asked if I would be willing to change my appointment to Thursday at 9 am, which I agreed to. When Thursday arrived I was told by the representatives at this office that they had no records of my appointment being changed, and the dentist would not see me. There is only one dentist at this location, and I believe they overbook all of their appointments and change them at will. I have had visits where I have spent over 3 hours at this office. They said that my dental work needed would cost several thousand dollars, and the only work that was 100% completed was the signing of their financing papers. I still have the same toothache that I originally came in for several visits ago. Nothing accomplished. Horrible experiences have caused me to seek out dental work elsewhere. read more

Had my top teeth pulled per advice from 2 dentists. The price was the only reason I chose Aspen. That was in June 2019. I have had nothing put problems ever since. From not fitting right to where they had to make a new denture. That has not helped When I go in for check ins besides waiting, they keep saying that it will be ok. I a server and it is effecting my serving in the talking area. Am suppose to get my permanent dentures in December. Am afraid the same excuses will be given. I thought they cared but they care more for numbers in and out instead of actual people. I would never recommend Aspen to anyone. I even told them that. I called Aspen Dental to see if they accepted my dental insurance, they confirmed and i set up an appointment to get my teeth cleaned and to have X-rays done. I haven't had my teeth cleaned in little over 8 months. I waited 45 minutes to get called back. Once I was called back they did the X-rays quickly then sat me down in the chair. 2 nice ladies walked in and checked out my teeth and they said the dentist will be in soon. They didn't give me a lot of information about my X-rays or teeth so i just waited for the dentist. I waited another 15 minutes for the dentist once he comes in and introduces himself. He quickly states I have 6 cavities he doesn't explain where they are or show me on the X-rays where they are. In 23 years i have never had a cavity and now i have 6 with in 8 months. He was ready to drill with out any hesitation. I was really surprised and he still didn't explain anything. He told me they have to be done today or they will get worse. The only reason the dentist didn't drill was because they had a problem with my insurance. I asked if I was going to get my teeth cleaned still and he said yes. 5 minutes went by and they told me okay everything is fine they will see you up front. another person told me this is the type of cleaning you will get so reschedule and we will see you soon. I was previously told the first cleaning is free. So i never got my teeth cleaned and I wasted 2 hours. I just got done at my previous dentist and they took new X-rays and they said i have ZERO cavities and they told me the regular thing to floss and brush your teeth. I went to this dentist for a tooth extraction beside my wisdom tooth. After waiting for almost 3 hours I was ready for surgery. Well things didn't go well starting off with the numbing needle that I bent by jumping from the outrageous pain that I felt. The medicine shot all over my face causing my whole faCe to go numb. Once the procedure started DR. Williams began to be so aggressive with opening my mouth wider and wider til the sides split open. During the whole procedure he was extremely brutal with his techniques and caused me so much pain. It felt like a Gorilla was mauling my face apart. I will never ever in my entire life return even if it was free!!! I've had two teeth pulled before somewhere else and it was painless!!!!!!! read more

My mom went in for dental surgery to get extractions and implants. She was bleeding everywhere and was in terrible pain even with the pain pill they had prescribed for the surgery. She ended up losing consciousness! The emt's had to come in to bring her back! She couldn't make it through the whole surgery and ended up developing 2 abscesses in her mouth thanks to the "doctor's" superior work. She was in such pain and had to go to the hospital thanks to them. She was in there for 3 days. They don't know how to make dentures either and I will never be recommending this place to anyone. read more

My initial appointment was amazing, so I chose to continue with the treatment plan. I scheduled my follow up appointment and paid a deposit for future services. Due to unforeseen matters with my family, I had to reschedule my appointment, that's were things began to go wrong. For some odd reason I had to call the Aspen customer service because I was unable to get thru on the office telephone line. After two days, I received a call from the location and I was able to schedule my appointment for the same doctor. Well arrived for my appointment to learn my rescheduled appointment was completed incorrectly and with another doctor. I explained I hate the dentist and I felt comfortable with the other doctors. So the nice young lady rescheduled all my appointments with the initial doctor and with the dental hygienist. I arrived to my second rescheduled appointment and waited an hour to be seen. Cool it was late in the afternoon, so I figured the doctor might have had a crazy day. Then I learned the doctor hurt his eye and could not see me; now that is a problem. So I was reschedule again for the following week. Well today I received a message that the doctor will be unable to see me, WOW! At the point I must end my relationship with Aspen dental. Lack of consideration for the patients work schedule. Money over service was important, learned lesson. read more

I went there for an emergency appointment thinking I would be helped and unfortunately all the dentist wanted to do was to increase my bill. He came into the room, looked at the x rays and left the room(they take x rays of your entire mouth); he never acknowledged me and left the room. Upon his return, he starting talking about the need for pain killers and antibiotics, a crown for the emergency tooth and an additional crown for the other side of my mouth! I questioned the need for the medications and he said, " aren"t you in pain?", when I responded ,"no", then the dentist did a complete 360 on his plan of care. Maybe he should have done a complete assessment on me before making assumptions about what I needed based o his tech"s assessment. He was not interested in cost savings of the patient or alternatives of the tooth. I would never go back to this place nor recommend it to anyone! The only nice thing about this place was the front office person that checked me in. read more
