If i could give infinite stars I would. The food here is incredible and the flavors are immaculate. Maybe even the best meal I've ever had! I loved the decor, traditional seating options, & low light. The server was so helpful and kind. I can't wait to come back!

Lovely interior with friendly service. The portions are generous, so I'm glad my friend and I decided to share a combo. The food does take a bit to come out, but I think it is worth the wait.

I'm kind of surprised that the reviews for this place aren't more positive! I had a wonderful experience at Asmara. Service was super friendly and helpful. Ambiance was cozy and welcoming. We sat in the comfy chairs with the little table and it felt relaxed and comfortable. We split the vegetarian combo plate between the two of us and both thought it was delicious! I only wish I knew what was what on the plate so I could order my favorites again. The meal was super flavorful and it was fun to eat with our hands. I loved all the lentil dishes. The only thing not to my taste was the honey wine - it's very, very sweet, which is not my preference. Overall a great experience! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Came back give Asmara another chance! We ordered a combo and the lamb. Pretty tasty, much better than I remembered. We also had the honey wine. From eating injera at other restaurants I'll say that the bread was not great, but aside from that the food was good. Service was a bit strange. Our waitress forgot to charge us for the honey wine and asked us to pay for it in her tip instead of correcting the receipt. Normally anywhere else the receipt is corrected but she didn't rerun it (that's what we asked for). Aside from that we had a good time.

Came on a Saturday evening and it was very busy! This is a cozy spot in Central with delicious food. Everything was flavorful with a nice kick. The house wine was great too- I recommend trying it! Our waiter was super friendly and welcoming, and made us feel at home.

I've been coming here for years. The place is very comfortable and the staff are attentive and prompt. The food is wonderful. I love the family style eating on a bed of injera bread. The honey wine (different from mead) is a lovely complement to the food's blend of flavor. Highly recommended.

Excellent choice for groups! Good choice for when you're craving flavor, spices, and something different from your norm. The veggie and meat combos provide a little something for everyone and is very communal. Note - if you order the meat or veggie combos they serve it on one platter and proportion it to the number of people at your table. Got the chicken wings and stuffed tomatos for appetizers, which were also good. Their injera had fewer holes (and tinier holes) than injera I've had before and was also more on the sour side. One particularly annoying thing was despite there being many empty tables during Tuesday dinner at 6pm, the server would not let our table sit until all of our party was here. We were on a time crunch so it would have been nice to get our table started and put in our order. There also seemed to be only one server, which somewhat slowed service down but not too much. Street parking on Mass Ave which can be annoying to find with traffic.

I got to try a couple I've never tasted at other restaurants before such as the green beans. The spicy lentils were my favorite - I wish a couple more had extra heat but still absolutely delicious and flavorful. They served a generous extra side of injera for our group. Blue Nile has nice ambience for a leisurely night out and Ethiopia Cafe next door is awesome for take out and delivery with more casual seating (I read somewhere the owners are related/family?) 100/10... my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in town!…read more I'm so glad that they exist in the area. Here and there I craved Ethiopian food and having it near to our hotel is such a treat! Came here for an early dinner and we were greeted happily. Our server Suryakala is so patient with us while we have some questions about their menu. The ambiance is pretty calm and the indoor dining is clean. Combo 2 (Beef, mild) - comes with four veggies kik alecha (yellow splitpeas, tikle gomen (cabbage & carrots), spinach cook with potatoes, & shirowot (Ethiopian style ground chickpeas stew) - so ONOOOOOOOOOOO! Everything was cooked fresh and the injera? Omg, to d*e for! So so good! I'm still dreaming about it while writing this review! When you're in town you definitely don't want to miss it! It is da most rewarding feeling when you try their food! It's savory and tasty at the same time bot too heavy for your stomach. Highly recommended! I've gotten lucky with walking in but they have enough seating for one to generally be able to snag a table even around dinner time. During the summer, they have lovely outdoor seating! I've gotten take out here once and the food holds up well. Now onto the food... - drunken noodles: occasionally these are very spicy and occasionally they are appropriately spicy. They are always so excellent and the noodles are bouncy and chewy! I usually get this with pork. - pad see ew: this is my favorite Thai noodle dish and it's no exception here. Not as spicy as the drunken noodles but just a massive portion of filling noodles, chicken/tofu, and Chinese broccoli. There's something about the way they do the sauce here that is just so savory and delicious. It feels less greasy than it usually does at other Thai places, which I really like - pad mee korat: my friend always get this and raves about it. I felt like it was worth sharing that this comes in a huge plate and was finished completely. They have a lot of variety in dishes!!

Rating: 4.5 Came to…read morestopped by this local family owned Ethiopian restaurant for lunch on the way to Vermont. Street parking available around the area. It's a small restaurant with just few seatings and a counter. Inside was pretty empty. Looked authentic as everyone in there were African people and seemed to be speaking African language. We sat down and looked at the menu. Menu is small but offer authentic Ethiopian dishes. I ended up getting some samosas to start, spicy lentil, mixed veggie and beef. Had chai tea. Chai tea was nice and hot, chai flavor with subtle sweetness and creaminess. The samosas were fresh, steaming, crispy, and hot on the inside. Came with a dipping sauce the has bit of acidity. All the types were good but beef was my favorite. We got Ethiopian platter with meat. It came with large anjero which is a spongy fermented flat bread which feels and look like a pancake. It came with 5 different dishes on top which consisted of lentil mix, beef and vegetables, cauliflower and eggplant, chicken and veggie, and collard greens and vegetables. You scoop up the dish with anjero and eat them together. I've never had this kind of dish but it was very interesting and tasty. It had lots of vegetables and was large portion so even sharing with another person, I feel like i got really full and got my vegetables for the day. Everything was spiced and flavored well and reminded of authentic home cooking. Even though that taste of the food wasn't mind blowing it was hearty, soulful and healthy food that leave you feel satisfied. The service was excellent. The server which i think is the owner was very nice and helpful. Being relatively new to Ethiopian cuisine he was able help us navigate what to expect and order and answer any questions. He was very friendly and almost felt like a fatherly figure. Overall this place is definitely a hidden gem. If you want to try authentic Ethiopian soul food. I highly recommend visiting. Food and service were excellent. I enjoyed the experience and i was glad that i was able to try new type of food i've never tried before. The man working there was friendly and welcoming and we got an Ethiopian anjero platter with three vegetable stews, beef, and chicken. Everything was delicious and tasted healthy and fresh. I think I preferred both meat stews and the mixed vegetable stew over the lentils and eggplant stews, but everything was great. I'm going to have to clarify this next time maybe, but the stews came atop a large anjero that tasted a bit more sour than the smaller ones that came on the side. We remember the bread from the other Ethiopian place we've tried in the past to be more sour than both of the ones we had here. I looked it up and it seems there's a difference between the Ethiopian anjero (larger and more fermented/sour) and the Somali one. I like both, but it was just interesting to learn.
