Double zero thumbs down rating. Absolutely the very worst experience in seeking to receive urgently needed medical care I have ever experienced or even heard about. The level of dissatisfaction with every aspect of this physician's practice is off the charts. Caveat Emptor! I plan to file a formal complaint with UnitedHealthcare. The online video promising same week treatment is fraudulent, based on my experience. No call backs, appointment times not kept, emails not answered, promises to schedule MRIs not upheld, extremely long phone wait times, and in most cases, the phone is not answered. Balls dropped at every turn, all the while I, as a referred patient, am in need of treatment. My experience is not unique. Just look at other reviews. Wish I had seen them before seeking treatment and wasting valuable time working toward resolution of a back injury. Any other business run this way would lose all customers. Find another provider. If I could rate lower, I'd give him negative 10 stars. I spent 7 years seeing this doctor...what can I say, I'm a slow learner. I came to him in excruciating pain due to a plethora of issues. His answer for 6 of those years was epidural steroid injections even though I constantly asked for better alternatives. By the time I'd had 22 of them, with no more than 3 days of minimal relief, I brought up nerve ablation... basically frying the nerves, killing them. Again, minimal relief. On to a fusion surgery that made everything exponentially worse and still, his suggestion was more injections...again, no relief. Next step was a spinal cord stimulator. He would schedule the trial procedure, wait to file with insurance only to have it rejected 2 days before! Getting someone's hopes up when they are in a tremendous amount of pain is just wrong. I was devastated repeatedly and lost all hope of ever being a functioning human being. He "says" he argued with insurance to get it approved, but they refused to cover it. I'd find out later that the reason for rejection was that he was not following the proper procedure for filing for prior authorization. After consulting with another pain management specialist who told me that there was ABSOLUTELY no reason insurance wouldn't approve it, he suggested I go back to Dr Chaudhry and have him try again. Hope returned! However, it was to be very short-lived. When I saw him a week later, full of hope, his response was, "insurance is never going to approve this... I'll try if you want, but this is not gonna happen". Stunned and crushed, I broke down in tears in his office and left feeling like life was not worth living if I was going to have to endure this forever. (By the way, I am only 43.) Thus ended my relationship with Dr Chaudhry. It's really a shame I didn't do it sooner. After finding a new pain doc, getting the trial procedure AND having an 85% reduction in pain during it...all within 1 month of my last visit with him...I am approved for the permanent surgery without ANY issues with insurance approval. I share this VERY long review in hopes that I might save another pain sufferer from wasting their time and suffering needlessly. This man is more concerned with making money than helping his patients, not to mention his arrogance and lack of compassion. Waiting for appointment for 2 weeks and nurse does not answer my call. My patient is in severe pain and suffering. Dr chaudhry changed office location and did not let me know and it took 2 hours to find the new office. I recommend to stay away from this doctor as it is not pain management it is pain causing place. read more

Dr. Chaudhry is the first specialist who took my husband's pain seriously. I'll let him explain - I've had chronic lower back pain and radiculopathy for about a decade. Recently, it got a lot worse. I had an MRI, saw my PCP, and got yet another referral to get another pain doctor. The doc I was referred to was difficult to see - it took me two weeks to get an appointment and when I finally got there, I waited for over an hour and didn't even meet the doctor. They offered no help, except to schedule me for SI joint injections a few weeks later. It was awful and I felt defeated. My wife found Dr. Chaudhry online. I was able to make an appointment NEXT DAY. I waited about 15 minutes and saw Dr. Chaudhry right away. Understand that I have seen numerous doctors, specialists, therapists, chiropractors, and alternative medicine practitioners since 2006. Dr. Chaudhry took one look at my MRI and said plainly "This is messy." He gave me a thorough physical exam, took time to talk to me, and answered a million questions. He then set me up for epidural steroid injections (NOT SI joint injections) for literally two days later. His bedside manner is great. His office is clean and efficient. Everyone was patient and kind. The doc also offered me pain medicine to get me through until the pain from my injections subsides and I (hopefully) am pain-free. He didn't have to do that - especially with all the heat that must be on him from our paranoid government. Please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Chaudhry. I literally can't think of anything that could have gone better. And that's rare as a patient in America. I will update my review after my injections to let people know how the procedure went. Final update: I'm back at work three days after the procedure. My leg pain is diminishing greatly. My foot is however still numb. I'd be more than happy to give the injections one or two more tries, in hopes that the numbness goes away. If you're in pain, go see Houston Pain and Spine. They'll do you right. read more

Dr Chaudhry is likely one of the most unprofessional individuals my family has encountered. My wife broke her back years ago and has rods, pins and screws in her back. She has herniated discs and her neck is getting worse. The arrogance of this man is unprecedented. My wife was receiving pain medication while in NJ and injections and adjustments to her back. So when we moved to Texas we gave this man an opportunity to shine or fail and he failed right out of the gate. He declined to provide my wife with the same quantity of medication so she runs out early and then spends a week taking Tylenol, Motrin and over the counter pain relievers. The doctor wants her to have some procedure done to her neck while rehabilitation he sent her to said they are afraid to have her moving her neck in the required motions for their exercises. We have two small children that my wife cannot pick up and both had to be cesarian section as she is unable to push. My wife jumped through all of his hoops and this doctor has literally belittled her. I need to help her find someone to fix and manager her pain. He is obviously not engaged enough to care. Embarrassingly enough, he walked out of the room on the last appointment and very loudly said "I'm in the business of fixing people not prescribing medication." Is shouting my wife's business across an office a violation of HIPPA laws? Bottom line, he's arrogant and thinks he's a god. My wife's back is so out of whack each time you fix one thing it moves to another disc. Because of this as@@&le, my wife lives in pain. It's time to find someone reasonable that will spend time and work with her and understand we have an autistic non verbal 6 year old while I travel a lot. We don't have the luxury of her spending 6 weeks in bed after a surgery that may paralyze her. Some doctors have even said they are afraid to touch her neck. I wouldn't drive through this idiots parking lot if I required a vasectomy and he was the only man that could provide numbing agents. The way he has treated my wife is infuriating and it's best we don't meet one another. I sincerely wish you could give a negative star as this man deserves none. Right now, my wife is in bed taking huge doses of over the counter meds to get her back to where she needs and saving the narcotic for when it gets unbearable. If you want to be treated like a drug seeking junkie even with MRI documentation, a long history of physical therapy and a decade of proper treatment from other doctors this is your man. I visited Chaudhry four times, including the procedure on my 3rd visit for lumbar cortisone injection. Each time, someone else's paperwork was in my file. This also included the anesthesiologist's paperwork during the time of the procedure. Every single time, paperwork was mixed up. During the procedure, Chaudhrys office packed the patients DEEP into the waiting room. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00, and I was to arrive by 10:00. I was prepped for surgery and waited in prepped state until around 4pm when the procedure finally took place. The procedure was quick. I was wheeled to the car and went home. I was told I should be good to go. There was no mention of possibly requiring crutches, wheelchair, cane, etc. The rest of the day I was in bed. I woke up the following morning, and the pain from the procedure was far worse than it was immediately after the procedure. I literally could not walk for 6 days. I stayed in bed for the duration. The procedure was done incorrectly. On the fourth visit, doc showed concern about a car crash I was never in, and welcomed me to his practice, because he had someone else's paperwork. I let him know this is the fourth time seeing him, and I had a procedure that HE did just a couple of weeks prior. He had nothing to say other than a referral to surgery. I attempted to get my MRI diagnosis from the front desk for the purpose of a second opinion, and the lady at the front actually got argumentative that I'd want to do that. I went to another doctor for the same procedure, and the real doctor was able to perform the procedure successfully. This confirmed that Chaudrhy did it wrong. Bottom line: These guys are another Houston quack-shack that is more concerned about the number of patients going through, rather than the quality the patients receive. Unless you have no other alternative, avoid Chaudrhy's practice. read more

First - Dr Chaudry has amazing knowledge of the anatomy, specifically spinal/vertebral anatomy. This is important because pain is so subjective & until he can get some imaging (objective view) of what is going on structurally, it's hard to pinpoint the true source of pain. His vast experience of how and where nerves innervate, make him second to none. Second - he has great hands to which he uses to his advantage when working in and around the spinal column. Obviously you don't want someone in or around your spine with a needld if they can't hold their hands extremely still. Third - he's on the cutting edge of treatment options/protocol. He stays well read with the guidelines and current literature. Ie, steroids are not the only option he provides for pain relief. Lastly - he's compassionate and understanding when it comes to realizing how debilitating a chronic injury can be. Dr. Chaudry listens to the patient and suggests a "shared decision making" treatment protocol. HOWEVER if you're only motivation is to find a rx for pain pills / narcotics - you're looking in the wrong place. I 100% trust my family and friends in the treatment & care of Dr. Chaudry. read more

I just had a spinal injection done by Dr Chaudhry. The hospital staff was great. After having been prepped and waiting for my procedure for more than two hours Dr Chaudhry showed up and gave me what felt like 5 sec of his time. And that's all I saw of him. This doctor has terrible after care. After waking from my procedure, I was extemely nauseas and this doctor has done everything he can to NOT prescribe anti nausea medication. His staff told me that they have never had a patient with this problem before, and that he is not accustom to prescribing medication for nausea. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I certainly must have gone to the wrong doctor if he has never heard of patients who have been put under anethiea having nausea. (?) EVERYTIME I am put under I am sick! I am so furious, mad that I am not able to get relief from this problem. Finally, after much discussion, his staff said 4.5 hours ago that they would call in some medication and it still has not happened! It is Friday after 6:00 now. This patient has been abandoned. I went to Dr. Chaudhry's office and was seen only by a young woman who claimed to be Dr. Chaudhry's Physician Assistant. She was not wearing a badge giving her name or credentials. I never met with the doctor and was told I would meet the doctor at the time of surgery. I was instructed to schedule surgery for an Epidural Steroid Injection. I wouldn't schedule such serious surgery with a doctor I have never met. I am glad I checked online reviews for this doctor. I will have a lot to say to my referring Physician. read more

First shot went well. Dr. switched locations for second procedure. I didn't receive enough anesthesia. Felt the needle and jumped up in the air. No relief. Dr. never visited with me nor called after this happened. His office did, to schedule another paid visit. Went to another doctor and procedure went smoothly. read more
