I cannot believe this doctor is the director of telemedicine. This was the worst doctor appointment I've ever had, in person or virtual. She didn't listen, she was condescending, and kept shaking her head as I explained my symptoms and I was begging for relief. She offered me cough medicine even though I never complained of a cough. I remained ill for the next few days before I went to another doctor who gave me the assistance I needed. I would never recommend her to anyone. I like Dr. Bishop. She's young, straight to the point, and quite sharp. She brings you down to earth when you're in your nightmare of hypochondria. For the first time since childhood, I've found someone I can call my primary care physician. I also really like her main nurse. Darn me for not remembering her name because she sure remembers all of her patients' faces and has such a great and pleasant attitude all day, any day. I don't have 5 stars here because of office operations. Totally not Dr. Bishop's fault. Every time I go, they're always running late. I'm usually seen 30-45 minutes past my appointment time. But then again, that seems to be the running standard. I also notice that they aren't efficiently using their resources. Is it really cost effective to have someone call me to confirm my appointment rather than a programmed message? The office is in the same building as Chase bank. Parking is also adjacent and is $4 if you can manage to get in and out within an hour. read more

Dr Bishop is a cool doc. In two ways, actually. She's a little bit standoffish in her manner, but she is also very smart and provides good care and obviously knows her stuff. I have to say, though, I wound up leaving her practice because her staff drove me crazy. They start answering phones late and stop answering them early. I had a prescription renewal nurse there once refuse to renew a prescription basically because she was in a bad mood, and I had to get an on-call doctor to do it for me that night. I have never EVER gotten into an appointment on time here, and I was once scheduled for an appointment only to arrive and be told that the doctor wasn't even there. So Dr Bishop, I'd give 3-4 stars to. Her staff at Associates in Medicine, though? Ugh. I think Dr Bishop doctors at two locations, though, so if you can go to her at her other location, she is a good choice for that. read more

Dr. Bishop was condescending, rude, and dismissive. Everything you DON'T want in a doctor. She kept interrupting me, didn't look at me when I was speaking, would only look down at her notes. She didn't listen to my symptoms and came up with something completely irrelevant that didn't explain my symptoms at all (probably because she wasn't even listening). I will go to a different doctor that has better etiquette and a more reliable opinion. My suggestion is don't waste your time with her. read more

I went to Dr. Bishop because of a recommendation from another doctor I like. I like her, but found them very disorganized, and very few people were there. I was late, because I called for directions, and the receptionist gave me the exact wrong directions. Then she told me it was in this one building when it was the building next door. Then she had the nerve to tell me I might have to reschedule because I was late. Then she couldn't find the doctor or any staff to ask, although it's a very small office. I went to get a full workup. I had my cholesterol tested, and they told me this was a fasting test. Huh? No one told me that before I came. I told them I had not fasted, and they did it anyway. Surprise! My "good" cholesterol was high. Wouldn't you think I would have been told to fast? I have never been to a doctor before that didn't give me instructions before. Then she ordered a prescription for me without talking to me about it, and said to go on a Mediterranean diet. When I asked which one, the woman who called said to just look it up. Ok. No help there. The EKG they did took two times; something wrong with the plug or something. I just have to believe there are internists out there that are more on the ball. read more

Pros- clean office environment. Brenda in the lab is hilarious and friendly. Close to home for me. Cons- Secretary Latasha can do better when in comes to customer service.( maybe she wasn't in a good mood that day, Don't know) Dr. Bishop was dismissive, she didn't seem to care about anything else I told her the moment I mentioned my desire to try other alternatives to medicine. I found out from the secretary Latasha that I didn't need to return until the next yr( fine with me) but what about the lab results, will someone call and notify me if something is wrong? I can totally understand that the smell of smokers can offend some people. However having an appointment that took me almost an hour to get there, to only be told by a staff member that I was unable to be seen because my HUSBAND smelled like smoke. I was never notified about this when I made the appointment nor was I told while waiting in the waiting room for 20 mins. It was only when I was told to come in that the staff member said I wasn't able to be seen because Dr. Bishop is very sensitive to the smell of smoke. I would suggest flyers and other notifications posted around the office of this dilemma as well as it being mentioned when making an appointment!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Rachel Bishop for a couple of years and with her help I have lost weight, gotten of my blood pressure med., diabetes med, and reduced my cholesterol med. Hopefully after my next visit she will take me off the cholesterol med. My orthopedic doctor told me at a recent visit that most people my age are being put on medications not taken off of them. read more
