Don't sleep on this place, I just happened to notice this restaurant, we were warmly greeted, there was black tablecloths, tables were beautifully set. The owner explained the items we selected. We ordered an appetizer of bbq ribs with extra sauce, and they were definitely delicious, beey and broccoli, that was good, asparagus and shrimp I'm allergic to shrimp but I ate everything else. This was our favorite place for many years but the last few yrs. It was off a bit. The breading on sesame beef was too thick didn't see much beef, still good but off! We placed an order for Christmas dinner and having been here before we knew exactly what we were in for. A friendly smile greeted me upon walking in to pick up my order, being a holiday we knew it would be at least 45mins, we're just happy that they are open and I'm sure the nonstop flow of business agrees. The orange chicken, was phenomenal, crispy and saucy even having traveled in a container. The boneless ribs , a little light grill and the sauce , always a treat for the pallet. Online ordering was simple enough, I got the general tso lunch special with eggroll and rice ,it came to about $12. I went to pickup during the day, so there were very few people inside. Seemed cleaned and nice, a lot of space. The person who got my food was nice enough. The bag felt light and after opening my food I was surprised that the portion was smaller than I'm used to. Lots of sauce not a lot of real meat. I know it's lunch, but some places give more I guess. The flavor wasn't bad actually , but there was so much breading on the chicken I couldn't even enjoy it. I literally gave up because it was 90% breading and the eggroll was more like a spring roll. The rice seemed old. We finally decided to try this restaurant. It's small, but well set up. So, it's not too close together. Comfortable seating and booths. The restaurant and restrooms were EXTREMELY clean. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered kung pao chicken with added water chestnuts. No problems to customize my order. My dinner partner ordered garlic chicken. The food arrived very fast. Now here's why I only gave this 3 stars. There was very little chicken in both of our dishes. So much so, we left hungry. Beware of how much vegetables are added to your meal, because it was disproportionate. Also, I'm sure that our meals were loaded with sodium, but we both found them to be almost tasteless. There were 3 kids that were being watched by the hostess, who was super nice. But the kids were running around, sometimes crying and being loud. It was distracting and detracted from our meal. Ordered by phone on a Saturday evening during the covid 19 crisis, food took about 35 minutes to be prepared. They were doing takeout only and have developed an interesting contraption to transfer the orders to customers in their vestibule without any physical contact. The transfer box has two doors, one on the restaurant side and one on the vestibule side, only one of which was open at any time. Ordered pepper steak and onions, beef fried rice, boneless spare ribs and general Tso chicken, all were good. Food was ready when promised. Sadly there is not many chinese places open on Monday, and after walking 20 miles (not a typo) on my day off I wanted some food to rebuild my strength. I've driven by Asian star many times and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered online which was very easy. First thing I noticed was this place isnt cheap, was in the mood for white/fried rice and some egg rolls. Each egg roll was 2.50, white rice was $4 and a large fried rice was $14.50, which is way above average for the area. I still ordered my food, requesting the fried rice be spicy. I'll say everyone at restaurant is so nice and its super clean. I waited for my order, which came out in a box, which I dont love because driving home is always nerve racking when the food is just sitting out. Any how the food. I wish I could say I loved it but I just liked it. Egg rolls were ok, lots of cabbage but very small and not a ton of flavor. White rice was tasty but for $4 it wasn't super filled. Fried rice was ok, it wasn't spicy to me, it had good flavor but not alot of chicken/pork/shrimp. Now if the prices were cheaper this place would get a better rating, when it cost almost 25 for 2 rice and 2 egg rolls, I expect great. read more

Classy little Asian joint. They serve you crunchy noodles and a pot of hot tea when you visit. They offer a lunch special menu that is available until 3pm and most entrees are $6. That said the portions are about half of the full entree price which will run you between $12/13 and you get a choice of soup. Quite a bit more costly then other local places. I got the General Tso's chicken. (Because I am a Gringo and that's what we typically order lol) and the soup I chose was egg drop. The egg drop was very tasty and the general tso's was crunchy in a good way but the sauce was extremely sweet. Too sweet for me and the person I was with too. I have only been here twice for takeout. They have a convenient online ordering system. You can order to have it done right away or you can choose the time that you'd like to pick it up. They currently are only doing takeout. I came here for lunch takeout for coworkers and myself, early last week. The servings were a bit small but the price was right. My sweet and sour chicken was really good. My coworkers enjoyed their food too. I came here a couple nights ago to get takeout for myself. I ordered an order of six fried dumplings and an order of roast pork mei fun. The fried dumplings were so delicious!!! The serving size on the mei fun was generous. I got three meals out of it. I paid online with a credit card. You can leave a tip on your card before placing your order, if you so choose. I left him a cash tip. They have an interesting contraption to transfer the food to you to discourage physical contact. (When you walk into the restaurant, it's to your left.) The employee on the restaurant side opened the door and passed the food to me, towards the small door of the contraption that's in the vestibule. Everything was correct and great. Next time I'll add the tip to my credit card, instead of handing the employee a cash tip. I can't wait to order again and to come in when they're fully open again. read more
