I was hoping for amazing food after reading the reviews but was very disappointed. We gave this place a few chances but nothing really changed. Many items from the Chinese and Thai food menu are simply not good. Dishes lack flavor, seasoning, and complexity. Many dishes that are supposed to be very different had a similar color (some unappetizing shade of beige) without any real pop of color or aroma to draw you in. Beef is dry, not edible, and is a choking hazard. The only positive I have observed is that the ingredients are fresh, but that just isn't enough. I want this place to do well because it would be great to have an amazing Asian restaurant to go to in this neighborhood. But to succeed in this area, you really need to stand out and create buzz (bold flavors, addictive food). I hope management strongly considers bringing in a well trained and knowledgeable chef (not simply a cook), who specializes in the cuisine/cuisines they are planing to serve here. The menu needs to be revised and cut down. Unless a place is paying for multiple trained chefs, there is no way one chef can be a true master of the various Asian cuisines this restaurant tries to focus on. Please focus on quality not quantity. The poor reviews should be the ones management/owners are paying the closest attention to! Wow. A new, absolutely superb Chinese/Japanese restaurant. Designed beautifully. You walk in there and think from the decor that u are going to pay a fortune, but as we say in Brooklyn-ese, it ain't like dat! Have already been there 4 times. Have had both Chinese food, and sushi. Both are simply outstanding. Prices are normal. Service is perfect and pleasant. This place is now a weekly event for us. We walk a mile to get there and a mile home, and it's well worth it. There's barely anyone working there, the service is slow, we got seated and no one came to take our order after 10 minutes so I requested a waitress to come to the table. There was only one person doing deliveries, cash register and waitress. It's not her fault but it's the restaurants fault. They need for staff to tend to their customers. read more

I like this place. The menu is quite large. They have dishes from several different oriental countries, hence the name Asian king. Their food is pretty good for the neighborhood. They delivery quick and they are very friendly. Looking forward to seeing this place grow. read more

The service here is amazing, everyone from the person picking up the phone to the delivery guy is awesome and so considerate. We order from here all the time and I usually get the same thing but one time I also ordered a chicken soup and I asked for extra scallions. They forgot to put them and when I got my order I honestly didn't even notice they were missing... until the girl who took my order called me to tell me how sorry she was for forgetting to put my scallions. Any other place would have let it slide unless and until I called to complain about it. The fact that she took initiative to call me and let me know meant a lot. Also, that same day, I also ordered a chow mei fun but I accidentally ordered chow fun which is totally different. I did not like or want it so I called to let them know and order the correct thing (I was willing to pay for it because it was for sure my mistake) she was willing to deliver my 8$ meal despite the delivery minimum... which prompted me to just order two of them love you guys !!! read more

Very disappointing experience. The food we ordered online took a long time to arrive, and only after a few calls to the restaurant. No apology was offered. Very bad customer service. If the food was good, we might have felt better about it, but it was not. Shrimp egg rolls were actually tasteless cabbage rolls with 2 tiny shrimps in them. Hot and sour soup was just hot - no salt, no acidity, but with too much cornstarch. Both beef and chicken dumplings were sub-mediocre and tasteless, and since it took so long to deliver, they were also dry and cold. Not recommended on any level. read more

I hardly ever give a restaurant five starts, but this place deserves it. Came here with my son today and was very happy with the food and the service. The place is new and has plenty of booths and tables. Everything looks nice and clean. The staff is amazing. She smiled and went out of her way to get is exactly what we wanted. I had a hawaian poke bowl. It was delicious!!! Fresh fish very large portion. My son had beef and broccoli which was very tasty as well. I'd give it the lowest possible grade. It's sufficiently clean, well-appointed, has attractive, busy staff. Yet here comes the big "but": the food has no heart, taste, texture, spirit, smell, skills. You see this plastic tree on your sushi plate and think (check the photos of other customers) - do they reuse it? if yes, do they wash it after each service? Spider king roll (like $13) was absolutely tasteless; barely serviceable spicy tuna roll; crispy fried calamari - dark brown! - on a bed of mixed greens that took a beating a few days ago. Spicy Malaysian soup was okay, with decent shrimp in it. "Buy one-get one free" sake (a special) is a mighty draw, but I got so upset I sent mine to the neighboring table, and didn't wait to see the reaction. Won't go back, but would like to say this: these young "kings" would better learn fast, because the Uzbeki restaurant across the street is deadly successful. I might be a little jaded here. Started coming a few months ago after someone recommended to try their Chinese menu. Asian King offers both Chinese and Japanese. Nice clean place, many options. Some of the regular staff is really good. Food is great. We enjoy it all, scallion pancakes, pad Thai, sushi rolls and pieces. Prices are competitive. If you order for delivery they also give discount t coupons for future orders which is nice. read more

We went here for Valentines Day after ordering from them several times. Their food is consistently fresh and well-prepared. The servers seemed stressed out because it was a very busy day and as a result there were a few problems. One of our appetizers was brought after a main dish, and they seemed in a hurry to bring everything out as soon as possible. As a result, there were too many dishes on the table at once and we felt rushed. Also, at least twice the server tried to remove a dish before we had finished with it. But the food is always excellent, the staff do try to accommodate all requests, and it's a pleasure to have a variety of Asian cuisines in the same location. First of all they forgot my soda that was with my order and second of all their pork fried rice is basically it's just rice with maybe one or two pieces of pork. Visited for first time for lunch last saturday. Had sweet and sour soup, egg roll, roast pork with brocolli and fried rice. All lunch and dinner specials come with soup or egg roll. Lunch starts at $6.25 and dinner at $7.95. Service was prompt and attentive. Menu suggests that lunch is available on sunday which is unusual. Ala Carte items seem to be priced similarly to other local places. Portion size of the main dish was more than adequate . Main dish was hot and brocolli was fresh and crisp. I was offered tea but declined. Not sure if that is extra. Sapporo beer is available. For value I recommend the lunch or dinner specials. Sapporo beer is avaiable. Will revisit. read more
