This place looks like a revitalized Old Country Buffet. It's very nice and well maintained. It was a hot day and they turned up the ac really high, icicles almost formed in the bathroom. LOL. Kidding aside, the food was ok. It was a surprising restaurant for the area. It is better than most Chinese buffets. Service is ok. They attended to my request to replenish the tea immediately when I noticed the dispenser was empty. The price is a touch high 12.99 for dinner which starts at 3pm and 7.99 for lunch. Only 1 star because I had to. WORST food ever!!!! Empty trays, hot food cold. Crab rangoon tasted like soap. Fried rice not cooked all the way. Salad bar - lettuce ok but mushrooms empty, brown broccoli, brown and dried out Jalepenos. Pork egg rolls sooo greasy and inside sooo mushy. Salad dressings not labeled. Only edible items were lettuce, fried chicken (which was labeled wings but no wings to be found) and ice cream - which wasn't the traditional soft serve - it was scoop yourself. My wife who is from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, Peoples' Republic of China (PRC) considers this the best Chinese restaurant in our area -- so do I. Food is fresh and well prepared. The owners have also decorated the restaurant in a pleasant Chinese style -- reminds me of the restaurants we visited while in China. read more

I went here for the first time tonight and it was a horrible experience. We got there around 845 and they close at 10 so I didn't really expect super hot fresh food but the stuff that was left was stale and barely edible. As soon as 915 rolled around the staff started hovering over us cleaning up constantly and making me personally feel really uncomfortable. When we went to go get 2nd plates around that time all of the food had been wrapped up! So we kinda just finished up what we had and started getting ready to go because it was beyond obvious that they wanted us to leave asap. On our way out my 20 month old daughter slipped on their freshly mopped floor and hit her head really hard. She was crying and we were trying to check her out to make sure she was ok. The manager stopped over and told us to give her ice cream. Then he put up a wet floor sign since there were none in sight. He didn't ask if she was ok or anything. So finally we got to the door and the entire staff is waiting there in their coats. The lights shut off and we are literally herded outside on front of them. It's 945 at this point and the restaurant advertises that they're open till 10. But they locked the door and all of them got into a cargo van and drove off. My kids and I really like the Asian buffet they have a large selection of delicious food items and we really love the octopus and also the crab legs. The owner is super nice whenever we come in . My friend Jay bird likes the sushi a lot. The chicken drumsticks and also the chicken wings are really good. They also have stuffed mushrooms and macaroni. The soups are really good they have egg drop soup and they have spicy soup which is really good. Sweet and sour pork and they also have Mongolian beef with broccoli very good selection. For dessert you could get oranges fruits five different types of ice cream. Also they let you get cappuccino or you can get soda. The price is really reasonable read more

After four visits here, I'm done. The place is clean and the food tastes so-so, but all the kids running around unsupervised, sticking their hands in the ice cream and everything else, is frustrating. I have been coming here for a year or two with my family and absolutely love their food. The atmosphere is always somewhat chaotic, but if you can handle the children running and babies crying loudly it's a fantastic selection of food. The problem I encountered last night, I had worked all day and hadn't eaten, so I was starving at about 9 pm. I googled the asian buffet and the results said closing at 10:30pm. I entered at 9:15pm with my family and a 10% off coupon. They didn't honor my coupon and charged us almost 40$ for 3 people. As we entered, we got the already closed feeling, though they assured us that we had time. They were mopping and pulling food already. There was no sushi (which was why I love going there) they had no generals chicken or and of the essentials. The rice was stale and hard. I filled a plate of what I could find ( as two thirds of all the trays of food were gone)! At 9:30, they started pacing back and forth by our table asking if we planned on eating any more. By 9:40, they told us that we needed to hurry up. All the workers were lining up and packing their belongings. By 9:50, they turned off the lights and everyone but the man, I assumed was the owner, left. He hovered and told us to hurry. Now, mind you, 3 very hungry people who paid way too much for their dinner are going to want to eat. I managed a salad and some "honey chicken" that tasted like teriyaki and no chance at anything else. I was very insulted! And left disappointed and angry. I don't want to dissuade you from eating here, but I had such an awful experience and a stomach ache afterward from eating quickly, I wish they would have told us that by 10, everyone leaves. This restaurant has been around for quite some time. I have been coming here since I was in middle and high school. The last time I visited Racine I went there and it was disappointing. The food used to be pretty good, however, this last time, the food wasn't really good at all. The only good food was the fresh fruit selection. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and plenty of seating. There are multiple T.Vs around the restaurant as well. Note: if you want to sit in a mostly kid free section, don't sit by the fountain area. There are always kids running around the fountain, and they are not always supervised. The area by the windows is usually pretty calm. Overall, even though my last experience wasn't the best, I would still recommend trying it out if you like buffet's because it does have a great selection and it has great food in the past, maybe I went on an off day the last time I visited. read more

This place was fine. It was certainly well enjoyed by the locals. Despite how busy it was the food was tired. The trays were not rotated and the foods were drying out or they were entirely empty for the duration of my visit. I very much enjoy the fish fry at Super China Buffet in Kenosha and there was nothing like that here. The hot and sour soup bucket was completely empty and stayed that way. I don't think a Chinese buffet needs to be "great food" but it should be good food, rotated and monitored often. Some friends strongly recommended the place so maybe I was just there on a bad night. read more

Let's keep it real-- I go here because I like to eat a lot and eat a lot of variety. And this place does not disappoint in that regard. The food is good and it is all you can eat. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it seems as if they are always understaffed in the serving area. They have a few employees up front, and they are always working hard, but this place is huge. I assume most of their employees are in the kitchen because food is always coming out from that magic window in the wall. The sushi is not the best, but it's because of this place that I even got into sushi to begin with so you won't hear me complain and I'll keep on enjoying it. They also added a grill to do up fresh noodle/veggie/beef/pork/chicken combos. I mean- just that alone is worth the price of admission. Damn- you really can't go wrong. The food looks much better then it tastes. Everything we ate from the appetizers to the stir fries was cold and greasy. Not worth the $7.79. We did try the make it fresh stir fry, was that REALLY chicken?! No seasonings in the sauce, only salt, even though I said lots of garlic. Did you really have salt on your fresh pineapple? Stale almond cookie, etc. You will probably find better food at a mall. read more

Disgusting. Staff is rude and weird. Ignoring you purposely when you ask a question. Talking on their phone. Lingering around watching you eat, makes you so uncomfortable. Food seemed like it was sitting out all day. For example the salmon looked like it was there for a good 7 hours. All the chicken dishes were almost hard like they were sitting there for hours. There was no one at the grill to cook something for us. I wouldn't doubt if this place is not following restaurant code and regulation for how they serve their food. I like this place but they have very chewy chicken. Most food was fresh. Buffets should always have fresh food.

My favorite Chinese/Asian Buffet in Racine. Nice selection, and quality of food is pretty consistent no matter when you go. Prices are on par with most buffets. Personally, I think the lunch is a better price to value ratio tho, as some of their dinner selections aren't really the highlights for me. Has my preferred tact of a buffet in that it's "pay for before" and the drink is included(love the horchata and peach green iced tea) The sushi is decent but is "all you can eat" and I've never gotten sick off of the raw ingredients. I agree with other reviews that the kids of the customers should be controlled a little better, but some of that goes on their parents. The staff isn't the most outgoing but is by no stretch "unpleasant". The positives heavily outweigh the negatives tho and you won't be short on delicious options. read more

We have been searching for a really good Chinese buffet since our favorite closed here in Kenosha. We have been very disappointed in general. Tonight we decided to visit the Asian Buffet and what a delightful surprise we found as we entered the restaurant. Beautiful decor with chandeliers reflecting in the columns, a fountain full of a variety of fish swimming around, clean floors and tables even the bathrooms were clean. The cashier was friendly, the price reasonable and moving on to the food. The pans were filled with fresh delicious food, crab, sushi, octopus, squid, cray fish, four kinds of shrimp, General Tsao chicken, chicken drumettes, crab rangoon, terriyaki chicken, crunchy green beans, pork with mushrooms, four kinds of soup, pepper steak and the menu goes on and on. Drinks were included and there were many, milk, tea, soda, horchata even the coffee was good. I know where I will be going over and over when I want a good filling meal. I can't wait to bring my grandson he is going to love it. The one thing I would like to see is peanut butter chicken. I haven't had that since Joe and Lynn closed their buffet and I really miss it. They also had American food that I did not sample because I had no more room. Our waitress was working the whole time and kept our table clear and was friendly. I did notice the other two waitresses did not seem as efficient, I guess we lucked out tonight. MMMMMM good eating. read more

My husband and I took our 2 yr old twins, and like usual, they refused to eat anything we tried to feed them, even though we had to pay for them to eat. So that was a waste, this is why kids usually eat free, because they don't really eat. Everything we tried was really weird and gross. My husband and I are not picky people at all, but couldn't find anything we liked. It just all seemed old and rubbery. Then the girl that took our only plate, was so rude and just seemed angry we were there. I used to work in the service industry, so I don't blame her, but it was over the top, then the whole group of them stood behind us in the corner complaining about all the customers not leaving tips, with their scowls and sour faces. I speak Chinese, so I wanted very much to say something. But we left a tip, and 3 girls stood over us waiting for us to leave, to clean up the table and presumably grab the tip. I didn't have room to get my kids coat on, it was so awkward. And we cleaned up our own table, all they needed to do was clear the 2 plates. Too much of a hurry to get us out. We couldn't have been there more than 25 minutes. I will never eat there, nor recommend it to anyone. read more

It used to be clean, the bathrooms used to be nice and the service used to be fine. Now it's run down, diarrhea inducing with ladies working there to clean your tables who complain non stop. My husband is Chinese and speaks many dialects of Chinese and the things those women say about customers is atrocious and rude. To my husband's face they said, "You're only leaving this for a tip?" I was furious. He said they are angry women, but there isn't another good Chinese buffet around, so we went back last weekend. He refused to leave them a tip and they promptly went up to him and said Oh you leave nothing? I find their hovering over the table when you get ready to leave as poor business practice and very indictive of the quality of this place. The food is crap by the way and please travel a little ways for better service, food handling practices and better prices. Never again will we darken their door. read more
