Before he hooked up to the SUV we came out of the house and asked what he was doing. Instead of stopping, he put the bar out and lifted the back of the SUV. He said he was taking the SUV to his lot and wouldn't put it down unless we paid him $300. We had to call the cops to keep him from taking the SUV. The police said since he was hooked up it was a civil matter and we would need to take him to court for it to be resolved. The police talked him into lowering the fee to $100 so we paid him and he let the car down and left. He wasn't getting paid for the vehicle he was called to tow so he was going to get money from someone, whether it was legal or not! He was not helpful at all and wouldn't even tell us his name when the 911 operator asked for it. He said "it's on my shirt" but we standing in the dark and his shirt couldn't be seen. This guy will scam you for the most money he can get, even if it is illegally. If I could give zero stars I would. Also, this is on Christmas night.

They charged my 81 year old mother $572 for what they claim was 1 1/2 hours total time to hook up, load the Spyder, and tow to a repair lot that was a 22 minute drive away from the accident. In mid hookup when I found out the base was using this company I asked the driver over the phone what he estimated the charge would be. He said around $350 which I felt was too high so I asked him to drop the Spyder (which was not loaded into the trailer yet) so I could call another tow company but he refused. After it was dropped off at the autobody shop I was told the amount was now $572 (and that was discounted and he was doing me a favor). In addition, they wanted payment up front and would not accept payment from the insurance company. If the driver had to wait for my mom to get to the scene or we waited on paying they would continue to add more time and increase the charges. The other threat was that if we didn't pay up front they would have to impound the vehicle. So we were basically strong armed into paying this ridiculously high amount. Please think twice about using this company!! I believe the military base contracts with more than one tow company so if you do get into an accident on the base ask the officer for another option.
