But thanks to Dr. Shindell performing my colonoscopy in a manner that spared me of all the worry, stress and apprehension that goes along with the daunting thought of going through a not so pleasant but mandatory experiences, I weathered the storm. And a few days later i got the good news from the office receptionist Kary Guzman, who was the first to tell me, with a congratulatory tone in her voice, that my results came back favorably and that I didn't need not return for another 7 to 10 years. I told Kary she was my Angel because she lightened my cares and made my day. Thank you Dr. Shindell for taking good care of me. It's apparent to me that she genuinely cares people. Luckily her colon was normal but her stomach scope showed Barrett's esophagus. Dr. Lee managed my Mom's Barrett's disease with a Japanese medicine. She has reversed to normal last week when Dr. Lee repeated her stomach scope. I noted dr. Lee had put extra effort to educate his patients about Barrett's disease and life style on his website. As a patient seeking medical care, I expected basic professionalism, accurate communication, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Here is exactly what happened: My appointment was scheduled for 10:10 AM. I arrived early at approximately 9:50 AM and completed the check-in process at the front desk. From approximately 9:50 AM to 10:30 AM, I remained quietly in the waiting room. No staff member approached me or informed me of any issue with my appointment or check-in. At approximately 10:30 AM, a female front desk staff member finally called my name. Instead of explaining the delay or apologizing for the wait, she told me, in a blaming manner, that my appointment had already passed and that I was "over an hour late." I was extremely confused and upset because this statement did not match the actual timeline. I had checked in at approximately 9:50 AM for a 10:10 AM appointment. At 10:30 AM, only 40 minutes had passed since I arrived, and only 20 minutes had passed since my scheduled appointment time. I immediately questioned the staff member and explained that my check-in record should show that I arrived at 9:50 AM. I was particularly concerned that the clinic appeared to be attributing the delay to me rather than accurately reviewing its own check-in records. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding with my appointment. When communication at the front desk is inaccurate and patients are treated in a disrespectful and accusatory manner, it becomes very difficult to have confidence in the overall professionalism of the facility. I left the clinic because I did not feel comfortable entrusting my healthcare to a facility where I felt I was being treated this way. I strongly encourage management to review the check-in records and, if available, security footage from approximately 9:50 AM onward to establish exactly what happened. I believe patients deserve accurate communication, accountability, and basic respect. Based on my experience today, I would not recommend this clinic.

I was especially impressed by the dedication of the Program Navigator Magda Griego who was very responsible and kind. She was very helpful starting from the minute I made my appointment. Thanks for her calls and letter with detailed preparation instructions including the need to hold off prescriptions and also reminding calls three days before the appointment date and time.

When my husband called the doctors office to follow up on results, the staff said there was no lab results. He was told that they would find out the status and call him back. He never received calls back (even weeks after the tests were done) and kept calling back and got the same response every time. The only reason my husband would go back would be to specifically see Dr. Shindel. These two doctors are like night and day and I would absolutely recommend Dr. Shindel (if you can get an appointment to see him.)
