Went out to buy a recliner at LaZboy and next store was a Ashley Furniture store. LaZboy was too overpriced. Went into Ashley and met Julius. He was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us. They didn't have the color we wanted, so he called around. It took a bit of time but he found one in another store. It was great to know that the place opened up (?) near my place (at least the first time for me to notice I have been living in the area since 2008) I needed a new living room couch We walked in, and there were no other customers, so several employees greeted us and, welcomed us and, introduced themselves, informed us that EVERY FURNITURE was 25% OFF SALES, which was nice One of the employees kept following us in the distance and made himself available for questions, which was great too.. but then things went wrong (?) when we finally made the hardest decision to pick one. The price tag showed $2249 in orange color. The employee said those are already discounted prices for 40% and showed us the original price in the back, written $3060 -_- I'm not bad at math at all, and that is not even close to 40% but about 26-27% off. When I pointed it out to him, he calculated himself in disbelief and then realized I was right.. another thing, he said, "That is not the price for 5pc, I think," when the tag clearly said "5PC SECTIONAL COUCH." I pointed out that, too, and then he goes, "Oh.. yeah, it is." I was like... speechless anyway, the price for a sectional couch 5pc did not seem bad, so I said I would take it. Then he said, "I cannot change the price for the couch, but I can give you some good discount on the rug (we opted into adding that along with the couch), something like $200-100 and maybe adding free shipping too. We will make you happy." Then, I wrote my info on the form and waited for them to bring up the statement with the total, which took FOREVER about 30 minutes. I finally went to the register/desk. They just printed out the deal. I saw that every section was broken down and priced separately. I get that, but the total for the couch itself was priced "at $2449" which was +$200 more than what's written on the price tag, and NO RUG WAS EVEN ADDED, plus a shipping COST OF more than 100 or something. I don't remember exactly, So with the insurance (which we asked to add $319), the total came to over $3500?! From 2249 to 3500! Again, I pointed out everything in details. He calculated with my phone in front of me and said, "Oh, it's miscalculated, and you want the rug? ,,, (delivery) You sure you want this (couch)?" Ughhh They have been miscalculating since the very beginning, which caused lost of credit and trust , and After all the struggles to find out the price for the rug and the discussion of pricing, did not even add the rug in total and confirm my decision to buy the couch when asked on delivery fee? What was the purpose of us waiting for the whole time? So dumb.. they went back to ring up again, and it was taking longer again, Plus, delivery time frame was about 6-8 month. We ended up leaving the store and calling them to leave a message that we had to go and be back or send us an email. Which they did shortly after, but they lost me already! I'm not a business person, but I think sales should not take that long time, possibly to give unnecessary time to change consumers' minds and, plus, lost credibility on so many errors in calculation! If I could give zero stars for their managers, I would. After months of looking at numerous stores, we purchased a set of kitchen table and chairs from this store. We were told we would receive a call within 72 hours to set up the delivery. When we did not get the call, I called the store, which then gave me a phone # to reach out to. I called, gave them my information & they proceeded to tell me that they called 3 days prior but could not reach me. I said that it is impossible, as my iPhone had no missed calls or voicemails pertaining to the delivery. The rep argued with me, and I finally said that I am not continuing this. Please schedule this delivery. I set it up, took time off, and the furniture was delivered and set up in the heat by 2 men. I gave them both bottles of water and tipped them both. As my wife was looking the furniture over, she noticed a chip on the top of the table. I had to run back out to the truck and stop the guys as they were loading the boxes on the truck. When we told them about the damage, they said we have 2 options: disassemble the table and take everything back, and see how long a replacement might take, not knowing how long it might be, or keep it, and the company would have a repairman come out to fix it. Knowing that it took months to find a table that fit our space and that we liked, we kept it and contacted the store. I have to arrange another day to work from home and set up the repair. I called, set it up, and a guy came out and did the repair several days later. The repair was slightly off color, but at this point, we were the ones aware of it. At this point, I already had to pay the minimum balance on my credit card, so I did. I contacted the store, waiting to speak to the manager, because I thought that it was only fair to request a discount as I paid for a new table not a repaired one, & to offset the finance charges, as I did not pay the furniture off. I did not receive a call back. I called back again a couple of days later, and I was told that the manager was busy with a customer but would call me back. That did Not happen, so I called back several days later, and when I asked for the manager, I was told that she was also the manager from another store. I had to explain the entire story situation again to her. She said that she was emailing the store manager as well as the delivery company, requesting that I either get a discount to offset my credit card finance charges and for all the time and calls, OR a replacement table (not my preference at this time, as I already took too much time with this). Well, not one manager called me back. Neither Ashley Corporate nor the store managers care about customer service, JUST GETTING THE SALE. Never again will I purchase from Ashley. Positive experience at Ashley Homestore in Montgomeryville store. I was greeted right away by RAYMOND CRAWLEY, and he was friendly, informative and helpful, but not pushy. He was very knowledgeable about the type of sofa I was looking for and whether or not the store had options to choose from on-site. Although he showed me alternatives, I was set on something I saw online that was in my budget, and he (and store manger Vic) was very accommodating on helping me order it through their store. Do not shop here! They just take your money and leave you with all the issues It begins when we pay with a card but we had to manually enter it because the chip wasn't working, (we did offer to go out and get cash)but i was told it went through come to find out it was just a hold which no one told me till I spoke to the 4th person. We were called 5 DAYS LATER to tell us it did not go through and they cancelled our delivery for Friday which i had already requested off for. We then scheduled it for Wednesday we confirm on Monday of last week they say it's confirmed. Come Tuesday our delivery is CANCELED again. Because our sales rep James did not schedule the delivery properly so I had to sit on the phone for 20 minutes. They then said they could squeeze me in for Friday, i get the delivery on Friday it went well but Ashley never told their delivery men that we were on the 3rd floor. As you see they are consistent liars. I wish I could leave negative stars. I have been fed misinformation, promised things at the store level and every level that were completely false or not adheared to. I have been treated poorly by every person, sub contractor and employee during the delivery process. Procedures and processes are not followed nd they do and say whatever is convenient for them, and can change depending on who you talk to in the organization. So I'm stuck paying a restocking fee or Redelivery fee. Buyer beware what you are signing up for. They do not care about their customers. read more
