After that, it was time to talk cost. With Labor Day comig up, all the stores were offering 'special' discounts. Bradley was able to put to together a package deal that was good. However, this was our first stop! We told him that and he said with confidence that we should go and look at other stores. Then we realized the how good the deal was that Bradley offered. The recliner didn't hold up to the use we gave it. That was disappointing. We've been happy with everything else. You'll find items here you want see elsewhere. They have a new bookshelf with a mist fireplace (it's a fireplace like light that shines on mist to make it look like you have a mini fireplace in your living room). Trust me, it's a lot cooler than I can describe. You just have to see it, okay? They have some beautiful pieces of furniture made from reclaimed wood. They have some awesome lamps. Did I mention the cookies? Who doesn't like cookies? While you're shopping, you can stop over to their little kitchen near the checkout, where you can sit down and have coffee, soda pop, or freshly baked sugar or chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin or toffee cookies. We had two issues, the first resulted in sending the sofa back to the company, the second they are saying is our fault. They have a standard 90 day return policy, but they also tout being able to just exchange the pillow for a new one. However, they keep a very limited number of pillows in store. They refused to bring in a new pillow for me to the store, so I could simply swap it out. I had to give up the pillow I wanted to exchange and they said it would take 7-10 days for a new pillow to arrive. What if you ordered a mattress from them and wanted to exchange it, however you've gotten rid of your old mattress? Would they literally make you bring the old mattress to the store before they would simply ordered a new one in? What if it took months for the new mattress to come in? I threw my old pillow out, so now I'm sleeping on a really old one until the new one comes in. Apparently, Sleep Number would rather inconvenience their customers instead of simply ordering them a replacement to swap. That's not customer service and I can't imagine ordering something that costs thousands from them, like a mattress. I'll be in the market for a new mattress soon and I'm definitely not getting it from Sleep Number.

Gopher Bargain Center is part flea market, part unclaimed freight, part antique shop, part furniture store, and part complete randomness. Lawn mowers, fishing gear, bedroom sets, hot tub, flour, drain cleaner, cards, cookware, toaster ovens, Eggo waffles in strangely damaged boxes, a wrench big enough to undo the nut on the bolt that holds planet Earth together. These are merely the beginning of the delights found within this building. A trip inside will make you smile at the complete randomness of it all. Bathroom and kitchen fixtures, including the kitchen sink. You might, with enough imagination, be able to build and fully equip and furnish an entire house with the items in this store. That statement, though true at the writing of this review, may well change drastically as early as tomorrow. The Carnivore understands that there is an activity known as "scrapbooking," which he does not understand, but acknowledges the existence of. He is still stunned at the magnitude of items available at this establishment for this purpose. He figures that putting snips of things in a book pales in comparison to putting a steak in his belly, but to each, his own. There are curious smells in various parts of the store, too. some food-like, some solvent-like, some of completely unknown origins. All kidding aside, I promise you there is something here you want, or maybe even need. The entertainment value of wandering around and occasionally saying "What the hell?!?!" is worth a couple hours of your time. You just need to come here and walk around until you find it. As a side note, I believe in my heart that there are no more 75 watt incandescent light bulbs left in the store. I could, however, be wrong. Give it a try, but I would definitely be cautious about food items that are not obviously sealed, and even those, I would definitely wash the exterior of before opening. There are too many non-foods here to completely trust unsealed items.
